With the ongoing war between Jedi and Sith, the people of the galaxy have forgotten about a third faction of force sensitives, the Nomads. They see the force as a whole, and look beyond the good and evil classifications. While the Jedi claim to be the peacekeepers of the galaxy, the Nomads truly deserve that title. They are willing to fight against both good and evil to keep the peace, and often take the appearance of the enemies of the people who they were fighting to keep people from focusing on the Nomads themselves.

To become a Nomad, other more experienced Nomads are required to do a yearly search for force sensitives who see the world as they do, and encourage the ones that they find to help them bring peace to the galaxy. They don't force people to join their ranks, and simply ask them. This can be seen as a tour of some sort, looking around the systems that they watch over to find people who could be Nomads.

All new Nomad recruits are required to go to a secluded star system on the west side of the galaxy controlled by the Nomads to begin their training. This is where they learn about the force in it's entirety, how to use the force, how to fight, and how to survive in many different situations, among many other things. During the end of the first year, or some time around the second year, all recruits are taught on how to build their own lightsaber from scratch. This gives bonds them to their tool, as they built it specifically for their own use. On average, the basic training lasts three to four years before the new Nomads are sent off to protect a sector or star systems, but they can opt to train longer if they wish.

Each Nomad group has a varying amount of people to look after a sector, but there are usually thirty to fifty people per sector. There can be many more per sector, as the largest Nomad group consisted of one hundred and fifty people.

Awesome,

Just so you guys know, this places place in the old republic era, when Jedi and Sith were most abundant.

But please bear with me, as I don't know every detail about the universe, and will probably get a few things wrong.

They should allow for unique and different characters. And keep in mind that while CS's are supplied, you can always use your own if you have them.

At what point of the Old Republic era were you thinking? That covers everything from the Jedi Schism and Hyperspace Wars to the Mandalorian Wars, Sith Invasion, First Jedi Purge and event of the Old Republic series of games.

I only ask since I'd enjoy playing as a non-Force user, such as a Mandalorian, but would need more details as to when we were in order to get an idea how the character would fit into the universe.

this takes place a little time after the first purge, but as I said before, please excuse all of the mistakes I'll probably make while posting. I may or may not need help getting everything down in such a large universe

That would be a good period to use, since the Jedi Order would be in the process of rebuilding after the Exile left her recruits behind to seek out Revan in uncharted space (KotOR 2) and the Sith were still preparing for their attack on the Old Republic prior to the Sacking of Coruscant (SW:TOR MMO.) at that time there were very few organisations recruiting Force users in Republic space, which would make it far easier for a 'third way' to be seeking out sensitives.

Would you be open to having a Mandalorian bodyguard helping to ease your travels through Republic space using less than entirely legal methods? After his involvement in the First Jedi Purge, where he murdered many Force sensitives while trying to claim bounties and favour with the Sith, he's realised that a more peaceful and moderate stance is required to help the galaxy face the dangers which may lay ahead.

Having a Mandalorian bodyguard would definitely help our group of nomads, and I'm sure none of the nomad masters would mind about using less than legal methods. Though, to gain acceptance and trust from the Nomads, he would have to prove to them that he had good intentions.

I'm in, but new to PbP. I have a lot of experience playing tablet but no experience in Pbp. I'll need some tutelage along the way, if you're cool with it, but I understand if you're not wanting to take on a newbie.

I'm willing to take in a newcomer! We've all been there, and if anything is up, me and the others can point you in the right direction.
