Welcome!

Please leave your umbrella to us and take off your sandals, let the technologies outside out of your mind and relax under one of our many kotatsu. Our hosts and hostesses, clad with the finest silks and groomed to perfection will serve you hot tea and tasty dango as you relax, providing peaceful conversations and singing the lives of those who passed through these sliding doors during your stay.

Upstairs is a small amount of rooms for you to sleep, and downstairs is our famous hot springs where healing powers and warming comfort mixes into a small piece of heaven. Masks are still mandatory, of course, but you will find that you will forget you wear one when you leave. Let yourself be relaxed by the sound of rain falling on the roof and the warm smell of incenses and infusions permeating the air, and forget your daily troubles, if only for a moment.

Leave the steam and airships of the Occident and the expectations and responsibilities of the Orient behind you for the time of a hot cup of tea and let yourself find your true being at the bottom of your delicately crafted cup.

Each visit is unlike the others, and as such you will find yourself different each time you enter the teashop, that it may be in body, mind or heart. Always outfitted with the fashion of the Orient and with the elaborate masks of the Occident, you will be changed each time you leave. As such, it is important to have a good grasp of your being at arrival to not become one with the surrounding aether and dissipate along with the ambient steam and fog.

The Moon Province, more precisely the City of Flowers, is a mystical place full of mysteries and unexplained phenomenon, never forget that as you find yourself once more in the teashop of Chrysanthemum Avenue...

The steps you must take are as such, please fill the follow questionnaire:

Please also be aware that this is set in a Oriental Steampunk original country similar to Meiji Era Japan. Now that all is done about your current character for now, you only need to understand that the tales we will experience, while inter-connected, are of their own, and should be a fresh start to the new and old alike, and as such all are free to enter and leave at the beginning of each tale at their own discretion.

Be polite to everyone OOC.
This is a peaceful RP, so please keep it in a friendly and relaxing atmosphere for all.
Make some effort in each post, and try to keep typos to a minimum.
Have fun!

Airships, great clankering machineries and working class clockwork robots, things like that. Mix it with Meiji Era Japan and you got this.

Sorry if it's pretty short. Wanted to create an emptier character for once, to see how much I can grow him in a more episodic RP.

Gender: Male
Age: 22
Appearance: A young, effeminate man, Kakei stands at 5'4 with a slim build that makes it rather clear that he's not a samurai nor any type of manual laborer. Indeed, inspection of his hands would reveal that this young adult hadn't worked a single day of his life. His hands are soft and his muscles appear to be lacking, no signs of puberty at all. A lax person, Kakei holds himself in a careless, slow manner, movements halfway between gracefulness and laziness. Outside of his pale complexion, he's a standard Oriental man, with black, medium-length hair and dark brown eyes, often clothed in somber dark blue colors, unlike the fanciful, colorful clothing of the Occident.
Personality: A man who gives off the aura of a poet or a writer, one of the finer arts, Kakei is a subdued person unaccustomed to revealing what's on his mind. For most, showing emotions is a sign of weakness, but for Kakei, he simply has no emotions to show. It's not to say that he's particularly apathetic, simply that in situations where others may find exciting, he'd simply smile slightly and nod along. He doesn't choose his words carefully, yet often gives off such an impression, as his words always come out in a measured manner. Overall, most people think of him as a sophisticated, well-mannered young person, but on the inside, he's just an unmotivated person who does most things out of obligation, not personal interest.

Prior History: Some time ago, Kakei Maruhama was the eldest son of a family who once served the Emperor. His childhood was spent grooming him for his future path in life, and he spent most of his days in the family mansion, being taught by tutors and only associating with the commonfolk if it was a necessity. Playing with servants or his siblings stunted his ability to make social interactions with strangers, and thus, he became a rather quiet person. His path in life was already decided, and he had no opinion simply because there was no point in having one. It didn't matter, after all. Like that, he lived on, until one day, his family fell out of favour with the Emperor, and suddenly, all the training in his childhood became useless.

Now, he's just a freeloader living off his family's wealth, doing whatever he wants even though he's never quite sure exactly what he wants to do. At this point, his parents, who had found new employment with a rich Occident businessman, has no idea what to do with their eldest son as well, and now simply hope that he could marry a respectable, wealthy woman.

Likes: Kakei doesn't know what he likes enough that he would go out of his way to seek those things. While he certainly enjoys tranquil places and occassionally chatting with others, he's also fine with being alone for a long time.
Dislikes: Outside of general fears such as heights and insects, Kakei doesn't have much that he dislikes either, though he does find it slightly annoying to be in the presence of people who are the polar opposite of himself: that is, a disagreable, unpleasant, argumentative person.
Dreams: Interestingly enough, Kakei does have a dream. But it is a whimisical, fanciful one that is impossible to achieve, and thus, he doesn't speak of it very often.

Name: Alice Stokeworth
Gender: Female
Age: 19

Appearance: A young lady of high society, with long auburn hair in elegant waves. She tends to dress in the rather masculine style that has swept through the cities of the West, with a well-tailored three-piece navy suit jacket and long matching skirt. After her unconventional dress, her most striking features are her height of five-foot-nine and her striking emerald eyes.

Personality: Alice is what her father called a "spirited young lady," mostly due to being the only daughter in a family with four sons. She is always energetic, whether laughing, crying, or shouting down an adversary. She sees no reason not to live every moment to the fullest, and often rushes into things. Alice is also a very skilled conversationalist, and can speak at length on a surprising variety of topics.

Prior History: Alice is the only daughter of the Stokeworth family, born between two sets of twin boys. Her father is the founder of Stokeworth Machine Works, a massively successful manufacturing company, and as such her family life often revolved around the firm. She decided upon coming of age that she wanted to make her own way in life, and decided to travel the world that she had only seen in stories. So far, she has enjoyed every minute of it.

Likes: Strong black or chai tea, automata, adventure stories, theatre
Dislikes: Boredom, snakes, liars
Dream: Write a story inspired by her experiences in the Orient

Whee, posted. Not totally sure about tea house customs in Asia, but I'm working under the assumption that they have tatami mats on the inside, so customers remove their shoes as they come in.
