In most stories it's best to establish the status quo of whatever world your writing about before you introduce plot twists to shake up said status quo. Introducing the idea that we are video game characters isn't going to be as big a deal as it would be if it was revealed later after we've gotten acquainted with each other and established the illusion that we know what's going on and what must be done.

I agree on this point. I *do* think that something should happen, but not necessarily the unraveling of the big problem. Perhaps, within the next few posts (especially of Terra does indeed pass out) we move out and find shelter. Then we can address more serious issues.
