Her father was not a mutant, but died soon after as well, leaving Katya to be raised by her grandmother and grandfather. She was raised to try and subdue her mutant powers, as her grandparents believed their children’s abilities were what sent them away from Russia and led to their demise. Katya believed herself a superhero though, and practiced in secret, saving little animals and fellow school mates. When she was around 7 years old, one of the demons from Limbo that helped her mother develop her black magic showed up and tried to possess the young girl, but was unable to because of her psionic shields. Instead, it began teaching her the art of black magic in hopes to gain her trust and allow her into her mind. Katya began learning spells like how to bind others, awareness of others with magic abilities, astral projection while sleeping, and other simple spells. At the age of 10, Katya met her uncles, Colossus and Mikhail, Colossus having been resurrected by Ord. During this trip, he saw much of his sister in his niece, and wanted to make sure she didn’t go on a dark path there in Russia. He brought her back with him to the USA and to the capable hands of the X-men when she was 11. In the last 10 years, she has learned how to properly control her mutations, and many other skills necessary for an X-man like hand to hand combat (though she sucks at driving despite classes). The demon from her childhood has followed her though and helped her secretly develop her black magic, though she has tried to ignore him for the most part. Her teachers and fellow X-men remain unaware for the most part as she prevents them from reading her mind, but she has gotten remarkably more capable at those simple, black magic spells. **Additional notes:** - I basically tried to make Katya who Illyana (Magik) would have been if not taken to Limbo, but since Magik was the ruler of Limbo in the comics, I felt it only right to include some magic. - She still retains a soft Russian accent.

His previously light green eyes were replaced with almost cat-like, completely yellow eyes with a black scale design. His once black hair became a bright shade of crimson that seemed to prefer being slicked back. He also appears to have no genitalia to identify him as male or female anymore. Shape-shifting - Mystique has the ability to alter his appearance to completely match someone else's, down to the cellular level. This includes their voices. Strategist - His talent for acting gives him a slight insight into what people think, especially if he has had to go undercover as that person. Full name: Riley LeBeau Codename: Gambit Age: 24 From: Louisiana Mutations: Gambit is a mutant who has the ability to take the potential energy stored in an object and convert it to pure light pink-colored kinetic energy thus “charging” that item with highly explosive results. She prefers to charge smaller objects, such as her ever-present playing cards, as the time required to charge them is greatly reduced and they are much easier for her to throw. The only real limitation to this ability is the time required to charge the object: the larger it is the more time it takes to charge. Most charging takes place through direct skin contact. The power of her explosions is dependent on the mass of the object she is charging, for example, a charged playing card explodes with the force of a grenade. Gambit can also use her mutant abilities to accelerate an object's kinetic energy instead of converting its potential energy; for example, she can charge her Bo staff with enough kinetic energy and power to level a house. Gambit's ability to tap kinetic energy also grants her incredible superhuman physical abilities (strength, speed, reflexes and reactions, agility, flexibility, dexterity, coordination, balance, and endurance), as her body constantly generates bio-kinetic energy and so is perfectly constructed for constant motion. This gives her an added edge that she has used to her advantage by developing a unique acrobatic fighting style. Gambit is a skilled card-thrower, so she throws her charged playing cards at opponents with great accuracy. She also excels in all aspects of thievery Background: Riley was abandoned at birth when her eyes glowed bright red, her parents thinking her a demon put her into an orphanage and left, Riley's powers didn't begin to show until she got into her preteens and she left the orphanage to live on the streets, learning quickly the ways of thievery and slide of hand she was able to adapt, and as she grew older she began to apply herself in martial arts and card playing which she took a liking to immediately, she joined a small gang that was known for thievery and quick acrobatic get aways, Riley got into a fight when one of the members tried to get her to take her clothes off and she put one of her playing cards through his skull. Leaving New Orleans Riley continued to excel in card playing and martial arts, she took a particular liking to the Bo Staff. Additional notes: Her eyes aren't always red, only when she's using a lot of her power. When they aren't a blazing red they're a bright blue.
