I'm looking to do a Walking Dead RP, however I do not have the time to GM one. I'd like to find a few people who would like to brainstorm with me about plot/setting/ideas, etc. and then have someone take on the role of GM. I would like to be still be involved and be a player but I know that I don't have enough free time to actually be the GM. The only pilars for the RP will be that it'll be in America, the zombies will be the same as in TWD, and that the characters will all be in a group. Anything else is subject to discussion and establishment. Anyone interested?

Well, I think the most important thing is, how did the zombie's happen? Is it a disease or bio weapon gone wrong? Genetic engineering that ended in this? And can it be cured? Is it world wide? Will there be help from other countries is not?

from what I understand its based on TWD (The Walking Dead) which means that it's an engineered disease that escaped, and every person on earth is infected and show doesn't deal with it being able to be cured as there doesn't appear to be any scientists left -legasp- so i believe some freedom of expression may be taken with that. The one that I did a while ago dealt with a cure but it could only be used on those that haven't changed yet, and only worked once.

Well as stated in my first post, the zombies will have the same likeliness as in The Walking Dead. It will be an infection that everyone is believed to have and you only turn if you are bitten, scratched, or die. A cure is not yet established. As for the geography, Walking Dead Wiki infers that everyone on the planet has the infection. However, as all forms of news (radio, tv, wifi, etc.) would be inaccessable to our characters, they would not know if other countries are infected or not.

Perhaps we can establish a cure later on in the rp if it's something you'd like to include.

Can we take out the "scratched" part, if you're crawling through brambles your F'ed, all those times the characterr in TWD series fell down, they should have been zombified, like when Carl fell down that hill when being chased by a zombie. It just seems extreme, it a world where zombies hunt you, other people might not be friendly, there are no hospitals, if you get scratched you become a zombie

I honestly found it to be extreme as well. So we can forget scratches then.

I am looking forward to this now towards your initial question why don't you have a co-gm as you seem to have a lot of ideas yourself for what you like, and if you have a co-gm you will be able to still place your ideas and lead the story while just chilling back.

Ah, yeah that is true. Honestly, I didn't expect to have this much free time. But you're right, I think I'll have a co-GM.

The reason you die from a zombie scratch is because, well, it's rotten flesh being rubbed on an open wound. You die of an ACTUAL infection, and then turn into a zombie as an afterthought.

You die of an ACTUAL infection, and then turn into a zombie as an afterthought. Exactly! But it's always made me wonder, can't they control the infection? Just throw antibiotics at it until something works? But then I suppose there's antibiotic resistance and stuff. And who knows if dead diseases respond to antibiotics. I assumed they tried that before everything went to hell. Still, you can control the infection. It's my theory that the fever kills them....so why not have iv panadol which helps with fever and iv fluids? Sorry. I'm a nurse.

Ok, so perhaps we can throw scratches back into the picture? When I first mentioned scratches, I did mean zombie scratches. As far as starting location, what were you guys' ideas? I was thinking something along the lines of season 1 or 2 where they have a camp somewhere secluded and try to thrive there until it becomes exposed to walkers.

That seems okay by me. But if we do it like that, we have to have a standard setting for skills and stuff. Don't want anyone to be too good, otherwise, where's the fun in character development?

Caits
You're right. I also don't really want anyones character to be a soldier or anything of the like because they overpower others and what not. I mean sure we can have police officers and medics and such but nothing that would over power others too much. Also, abilities need to be realistic. Meaning, if your character is an office worker who lived middle class, they're most likely not going to know how to use guns or be that great with self defense. However, as the RP goes on, they can develop better skills and become stronger.
