Hey Seraph, dunno if you're still looking for ways to change up your blades, but i got two ideas: blade beams and/or rockets. Silent blade beams for stealthy kills using dust cartridges in the hilt or handle of your blade for various elemental effects, or just make the handle have a two-way rocket pulsation system. One rocket at the hilt ti give it more stabbing force, and another the oppisite direction on the hilt to fry enemies you stab. they also hrlp when youre throwing them or doing some aerial maneuvers and need to change directions. There may be a way to do both if you think you can fit all that tech into just the handle of your blades.

Hey team, would you mind if I made another character? I want to be more of a support oriented character, using something like Weiss' semblance but with something I'd like to call dust gates, created by using Dust-infused crossbow bolts to create various effects.

Crossbows, unless you go the Van Hellsing Repeater route, aren't gonna be much good here.

Crossbows that are also swords! Bow Staffs! Uh.... Shit that's all I got. But I'd figure crossbows could be sort of like guns but with a bigger bullet. And you could make the little bow bits into like, a pickaxe or something. Maybe a double-sided scythe? Wouldn't that be cool. It'd be like the Crimson Rose but with two blades! And shoots giant bullets! Or other stuff. Or maybe you could have a sort of crossbow shield transformation weapon. I saw that on how to train your dragon the tv series. Pretty neat. Here's the [link ](http://howtotrainyourdragon.wikia.com/wiki/Hiccup%27s_Shield)to the weapon in question if you want to adapt it for yourself.

Name: Marcus R. H. Goldstein Age: 19 Gender: Male Race: Human Weapon: Elegantly unsubtle, a custom tank built from the ground up as a platform for the enormous L7A1 cannon. A single shot is designed to knock out Goliaths, and outright vaporises smaller Grimm. As secondary weapons, the tank carries 2 heavy machine-guns and 12 single shot grenade launchers. The massive firepower comes at a price: Marcus needs close quarters fighters to keep Grimm at bay if the beasts manage to close the distance. While Unsubtle has tough armour it is not impenetrable and neither does it carry unlimited machine-gun ammunition. The tank's mobility is very poor compared to a hunter on foot, although in a straight line it can go at a decent clip. Because it is impractical to bring the tank with him everywhere, Unsubtle is normally airlifted to where it is needed and otherwise resides in a hangar at Beacon. Lastly, a fact that is often under-appreciated is that Unsubtle can carry an absolutely ridiculous amount of gear. A functional stove, a generously stocked field medicine kit, plenty of spare ammunition and parts for both itself and teammates and a portable how water shower are all standard. Speciality: Long range to extremely long range. Marcus is the quintessential sniper and artillery support character. The raw damage output of the Big Gun can best be described as ‘apocalyptic’. The trade off is simple. While not a delicate flower by any stretch, Unsubtle is difficult to repair in the field and possess practically no melee ability. It has a long reload time on the main gun, and great care must be taken with shot placement to avoid friendly fire. Proper teamwork is mandatory for Marcus. Unsupported, he will die unless he can snipe his opponent before that happens. As a result his fighting style is characterised by long moments of tense silence as he hunts for that one perfect shot. Marcus is a poor combatant outside of his tank. While he does have the muscles of a blacksmith, he carries only a revolver for self defence and barely practices martial arts. Semblance: Technological - Marcus can become partially a digital existence, fusing his consciousness to sufficiently advanced computers he touches. His aura extends to whatever machine he is merged with, fuelling and protecting it. Primarily he uses this to merge his mind with the central system on the '_Unsubtle_' to be the driver, gunner, loader and commander at the same time. Personality: A straight laced officer and a gentleman, very organised and clean. Marcus is stoic and has difficulty expressing his emotions normally. His biggest drive is a need to prove to himself and his family that his idea for a long ranged support unit is a good one. While most of his family are front line hunters, he was always more of an engineer. When it was finally discovered that his semblance was practically useless in a fight he very nearly got cast out completely, until he came up with the schematics for the Elegantly Unsubtle. Emblem: A golden star with a line shooting straight up out of it on a black background. Appearance: Marcus has a stern angular face with a hawk nose. His sharp golden eyes are usually hidden in the shadow of his peaked cap. His neatly combed light brown hair can occasionally be seen underneath it. Over a standard green coverall goes an officer's greatcoat in standard Goldstein reddish brown. It is decorated with small lines of gold. A short and broad build is the result of long hours spent carrying heavy parts around on his own. Calloused, deft hands go clasped behind his back when they are not fiddling with one device or another. A toolbelt lined with many, many pockets and tools goes around his waist, over the longcoat. A simple, elegantly crafted revolver rests on his right hip. Basic, sturdy steel toed boots are on his feet.

Well, the crossbow isn't being used traditionally, rather, it's being used to bolster allied abilities and defenses through the use of AOE spells distributed by the Dust-enchanted bolts. I could add a melee form to the crossbow in case things ever get sticky for the character, but I'd rather keep it support-oriented. I'll have to see what the GM as well as the rest of my team says about it before I write anything. @Lucius: HOLY CRAP, THANK YOU FOR THAT IDEA. In all seriousness, that works perfectly for what I was thinking. @MMM: Using even a relvolver x-bow would work, as this character isn't a damage dealer, they would be adding more damage through Dust infusion.

@Dharc No problem yo, been wanting to see that weapon in action one day, couldn't find a good chance to ever do it myself. @AgentB52 I know it's not really my place to ask, but how the heck does Marcus take that thing around with him? I mean granted, I made a character with a motorcycle as her weapon of choice in the past, but this is like having the Paladin mech being your Weapon of choice.

I was going to say the same thing, but thought better of it. For your crossbow-supporter type, just remember, Seilber uses a bow with similar effect. Not saying don't use it, just be aware of crossover. Also, those two might compare notes over time. One of the great things about Beacon is it's less about having a top dog, and more about churning out skilled, talented, powerful Hunters/Huntresses, and the better everyone makes each other, the better off Remnant is as a whole. Right?

Actually, better idea. He does it Dragon Ball style and his weapon was made by CAPSULE CORPS! Another family owned conglomeration, but instead of controlling dust they handle functional but disposable weapons for hunters an militias. Normally their [Capsules](http://dragonball.wikia.com/wiki/Capsule), small devices in the shape of pills, look unassuming and fairly useless. But once activated and detects that it has an appropriate amount of space (so it can't go off if they are, say, put into a small box) they can turn into almost anything it has been designed to contained short of a house. Most however cannot be changed back to their capsule form, however perhaps this tank would be a prototype model testing this out, and the reason Marcus has it because he's the son of the lead developer within corporation, henceforth known as The Goldstien Standard Conglomerate until a better name has been made.

I actually sort of assumed he wouldn't carry it around everywhere. I personally envisioned 'Unsubtle' usually kept in a really really large version of the rocket lockers that lands on a spot Marcus can designate with his scroll. For trips outside of the deployment range he treats it like a camper or a van rather than a weapon to take everywhere. Although I really like the capsule or briefcase solution.

I just suggested it like that cause otherwise Marcus goes around likely unarmed. I mean, yang's got a bitching motorcycle, but she can't exactly bring that everywhere with her. I think the tank is more akin to an important possession rather than his Weapon of Choice. Though it does bring me to another LUDICROUS weapon idea! A Cellphone/GPS device. It's got reception everywhere. Even internet access so you can research the weakness of your enemies and the information of your location anywhere you go! Also it has access to artillery turrets that you need to deploy preemptively (With Capsules). Not really great in PvP but super in teamfights when you need to deny an area to someone!

> ^ What is your take on the M1/M1A1/M1A2 Abrams? A gas guzzler but overall a very solid piece of kit. Not nearly as much of a maintenance hog as is often implied, at least when compared to proper contemporaries like the Challenger II, the Leclerc or the Leopard 2. T90 doesn't count because it's both Russian and designed for a different strategy than the Abrams. Merkava IV looks better though.

**Name:** Rayna Bryson **Age:** 17 **Gender:** Female **Race:** Human **Weapon:** [Chaotic Order (2x)]( http://fc05.deviantart.net/fs71/f/2013/224/2/8/flamesword_by_raverunner-d6hs9ws.jpg ) Whenever she left Atlas and abandoned her father's dreams of her becoming an officer one day, she thought it would only add salt to the wound if she took the family weapon as well - she had younger siblings who might have chose a different path than her. Some might have wanted the weapon to fight for Atlas. So, finding herself without any weapons, Rayna set about trying to change that. What she came up with was a sword that had specially modified to double up as a shotgun, of sorts. Of course, one was just too little so she had to make a second one just in case! Eventually, she started dual-wielding the gunblades though. **Specialty:** A frontline warrior/tank that dishes out heavy damage and keeps an enemy's concentration on her to prevent it from focusing other teammates. Not very well armoured but makes up for it in damage. **Semblance:** _Spectral Chains:_ Rayna has the strange ability to manifest her aura into physical chains which can implant themselves in targets or objects and be used for movement or impressive combo-attacks. She has direct control of the chains but they only have a short durability and due to the fact that she has to swing about on them with heavy weapons and armour, they can tire her quite extensively. **Personality:** Being the little girl who had more cuts and bruises than she could count usually caused a great disdain with her mother but no punishment could ever deter her from going out and finding another (usually disastrous) adventure. She carried that same mentality as she grew up but eventually, as her sense of fair-play and the heretical desire to protect the innocent kicked in, Rayna took her skills from spending a childhood fighting and turned them into something she truly desired - to be a hero. Not just a normal hero; no, she wanted to be the proud flag-bearer of freedom. Nothing held her back - her father was a well-regarded Atlas General and his prestige carried on in his daughter's fighting skill, not to mention the fact that his rank automatically rewarded her with a place in Atlas' top academies. Eventually, under the strict militaristic teachings from the Atlas academies, Rayna became a hardened, well-disciplined fighter who could and would go through anything to guarantee the lives of others. She was a soldier, essentially, a damn good soldier but there was a problem with that - soldiers follow too many orders. It's not the place of a soldier to question morality or judgement; they just do as their told. That's not what she wanted - she wanted the freedom to make choices, to be able to stand for what she believes, not what her leaders believe. So, although it broke her father's heart and it shattered her loyalty, she decided that Beacon would serve her cause much better. Just because she's turned her back on the Atlas military, however, doesn't mean she doesn't carry similar principles. Essentially, she believes that every stride should be taken to ensure that the guilty are suitably punished and the innocent are protected. Her sense of protection can border on motherly, which would make her an awkwardly clingy leader, and similarly, if you threaten one of those she 'protects', Rayna will hurt you in places you didn't know could experience pain. What she makes up for in strength, loyalty and perseverance, she lacks in basic common sense. To put it simply, Rayna has 'blond moments' regularly and although this never affects her actual fighting, it can prove to be a bit embarrassing when she just pops out with something that sounds ridiculous when examined later - she's more of a shoot-first, ask questions later sort of girl. Anyhow, despite her flaws, you couldn't hope to find anyone so steadfast and loyal. At the end of the day, she'll lay her life down for you and not think twice for a single moment about said decision. **Color:** Ruby **Emblem:** A white hammer against a backdrop of a red rising-sun. **Appearance:** ![Appearance](http://fc05.deviantart.net/fs71/i/2014/216/9/a/sinon_png_by_tranzicola-d7tqfn3.png "Rayna")

@Tearstone and Lugu: Tell me if you see anything you might want to change in case it crosses any lines. I just want Viv more than I want Dakota, because, let's be honest. It's more fun being a tree...and people...and Grimm-hugging loli than it would be to play a Neptune clone with wind and sand blasters. **Name**: Vivienne Evangeline **Age**: 18 **Gender**: Female **Race**: Human **Weapon**: *Artemis* - This multiform weapon, which easily and fluidly changes forms, provides Viv offensive and defensive capabilities all while allowing her to support her allies with crowd control abilities and massive AOE buffs. *Crossbow Form*: In this form, *Artemis* is a repeater crossbow with the ability to store 8 bolts at a time. Along with basic crossbow bolts, Viv carries an assortment of different variations of enchanted bolts with her. **Adhesive Bolts** - These bolts carry industrial-strength adhesive at large quantities which provides valuable time to her allies while their foes try to pull themselves out of their very sticky situations. **Gate Bolts** - These bolts, which fire two simultaneous ports of the fabled Dust Gates, provide massive amounts of speed to anything that passes through the gate. The gate only lasts for a quick moment, so it's useful when trying to make an ally hit harder, or make an enemy crash into terrain. **Barrier Bolts** - These create a semipermeable barrier, allowing for destruction from afar from the protection of a nice magical barrier. The barrier will shatter when hit with a critical strike. **Infusion Bolts** - These bolts of varying elemental charges imbue her allies' weaponry with whatever element Viv applies, adding even more damage to her allies' arsenal of hurt. Limited to one strike before needing another application of the infusion enchantment. *Shield Form*: This form is a small semi-spherical round shield about 1 foot in diameter that provides Viv with a quick block in case she ever gets blindsided or cornered. Although the shield is quite small, it's surprisingly durable enough to withstand a pretty tough blow. *Stag Form*: This is where things kind of get a little crazy. Did I forget to mention that this weapon is a tad sentient? Though it takes a moment to morph into the Stag Form, the end result is a full sized mechanical stag which Viv is able to mount and charge into enemies or retreat to a safer position. This is a last resort if all else fails. **Specialty**: Viv is a field commander, aiding her allies while aiming to conquer all that stands in her way. However, she does not aim to decimate her enemies, rather incapacitate them so that they can fight and lose another day. While quite cruel, she only fights this way to keep her composure during fights, as she has a short temper. **Semblance**: *Life Force* - Viv can see the life force of all living things in a vicinity, and though she can't verify what the being is, she can give an estimation based on their size. Larger beings give off higher life forces, while those smaller produce less. **Personality**: A true huntress by heart, the young woman known as Viv is quite the character. She regards all life as her friend and will try to have conversations with everything alive, ranging from a fern to a Grimm, and while she's a bit naïve, she has a kind heart that goes out to every soul she meets. However, she does have a bit of a temper and will lash out on anyone who has no respect for life. *"Hey, leaf, hanging out on that branch all leafy-like, huh?"* **Color**: Viridian *#40826D* **Emblem**: A stag's horns crossing over an arrow. **Appearance:** At a 4 feet 6 inches with a petite frame, Viv is a loli if I've ever seen one. She has short, curly green hair that reaches her neck with a big white bow adorning her gold hairband, with the most adorable face with the most pale skin you have ever seen. She wears a little green cloak which she almost never takes off with her emblem placed on the collar as an ornamental pin. Underneath, she usually wears a white dress with golden lace at the hem of the dress, green, plaid knee-high socks and white dress shoes with golden buckles.
