If he's upfront with his condition, yeah, that might work, but if he keeps it secret I'm going to be doing mental gymnastics to keep her from trying to destroy him.

He probably will be when he actually knows and trusts the lot of you. Edit: I mean "Hey i just met you, but i'm not technically living, what's your name?." Isn't exactly a way to win friends.

>"Hey i just met you, but i'm not technically living, what's your name?." If this doesn't work Batche is screwed

>Yeah but warforged beings don't eat faces. >Implying Batche wouldn't totally eat all the faces if it made her that much closer to her Master. On a slightly seperate note, Ninja'd, but it looks like it turned out for the best, nice save Blaze. Posting in fear of it happening again.

> "Can he truly be trusted to do what is good for the party, what happens when his true master calls?" Old news but uh, Cyan? > "...what happens when his true master calls?" T-true master? Wh-what's that supposed to mean, Cyan? W-who is Lammy's true master? (...Is it nature, because he's a druid? Are you asking what he would do when nature calls? I'd figure he would go in a bush or behind a tree I guess...) We joked about it last night, but I want to hear what you personally meant by that comment.

@Cyan: figured I'd at least try and give our undead warrior a chance to prove things to the others.

@Mictlan, Yeah I mean nature, but I choose the wording very carefully (would you believe). @Blaze, I think that's exactly what a Ilmater Cleric would do, I was going to defend him more thoroughly because Batche understands how it feels to be treated as outsider and dangerous but your post meant she didn't have too, she could keep quiet and safe from criticism herself which is more in line with her goals. You did actually post while I and Batche were umming and ering over what to do so it was nice to post so genuinely.

@Cyan: No problem. Now all that needs to happen is have the undead paladin not go with. "No, I'm OK being a zombie to be honest. I kind of like battling for my soul against a constant hunger."

@Blaze, unfortunately, I can think of many reasons a proud warrior would want to have an immortal body, death for example, happens to be a minor inconvenience to most warriors.

Maybe for a 'Proud Warrior', but a Paladin shouldn't be so fearful of their eternal fate that they'll bind themselves to the Material for eternity in the form of an abomination.

Hey you think of shit last minute. Plus the infected grain was from a 1.5 dungeons and dragons campaign book. So D&D was doing it before it's cool.

Sorry, but we've been doing gymnastics to make your character viable, but if he's basically Arthas, then this character is not going to work.

It's a pretty big part. Also it means a) he fell before he died which is a pretty major detail and b) his alignment should not have been Lawful Good. Both are details that would have made me reject the character earlier.

Could it be that the time he has spent as undead is what has returned him to Lawful Good? The way I could see this easily retconned. Paladin sent to help a village out with a church (not Ilmater, they wouldn't approve of mercy killing ever) Necromancer conspires to destroy him, make him her prize Targets village, all suffer for his presence Repeated disruption of his activities, where ever he goes A moment of weakness lead him to break Paladin code Necro bests him Despair, but also regret Last ounce of strength allows him to keep his senses, but is forever haunted by zombification and his wrong doings Has spent years/decades trying to atone for his sins, make peace with himself. All that needs doing changing the Deity and the rest can be put down to his seriously guilty conscience not allowing him to mince his words about what hes done. Don't even have to retcon the reactionary posts by others. So far his actions have only been Lawful Good, what he's said he's done however isn't.
