Yeah, Lucius, if you haven't seen the setting, it's over the top, but in a gritty retro bloody way, not a "fighting spirit/crazy gives me magic!" way.

I know, have you ever seen what sort of damage a drill can do to a guy? I just like the fighting spirit bits cause it makes an otherwise gritty and bloody story a bit more light-heartily humorous. Like pink blood. So much blood. But it's pink~

I'd totally be down for your character having a giant drill. That even adds a nice touch to your silhouette. Or maybe you can think of a cool transformation where different parts of your armor come together to make it. Breaking immersion every time you use your killer weapon as I am forced to think of Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann, is not what I want from Deathwatch, personally. :P Comedy doesn't have to rely on "heh, lulzy, I break the setting, but it's ok, because comedy". *note, I am not the GM, so you don't have to take anything I say seriously.

Eh, I take creative liberties with these things. I can't do "Dark" in the sense that I'm suppose to be some brooding macho man or unfortunate psychopath, where the universe is inherently bad and that I should just give in and accept the inevitable and undefeatable horrors of my universe. Whenever I'm thrust into such settings I prefer over-the-top ultra violence than any pretense of serious dark apathy. If you put me in the Warhammer 40k verse, I'd be the Orks. Though that bit where my armor comes together to create the drill does sound neat. I might even incorporate it into the stats. +3 S -1 T

Even orks have their grit to 'em. Unfortunately, you don't have the orky excuse of 'wotz we fink iz wotz happenz' so I gotta ask you to make it all just a _bit_ more serious. I mean, sentinel over there is a goddamn bronze knight that shoots fire out of his hands, and Setsuka's got the crazy 'hairpins of doom' thing. Even though they aren't, the two at least _seem_ physically possible, there's no obvious 'Alright, that doesn't happen ever' with them. I'm not saying everyone has to be serious all the time, but the opposite is just as bad, it takes any sort of weight out of it all.

I still like my drill. It's the next best thing to a lance, and now that Cinder has her steed (Bitches love motorcycles) now she can couch people in the face! And it's still sexually suggestive enough that I can fetish it. That' the important part. So yeah, revision done.

Alright, I'd say I'm totally cool with it. However, important note! Killer Weapons are stronger than you think they are. In addition to the +2 to strength (your +3 to Str -1 to toughness is fine.. I would imagine), you get a +2 to another stat such as WS, Toughness, Initiative, or a +1 to Attack.

No no no, they're too finely balanced for that. +3 S can bring things to ridiculous levels, and coupled with her massive I plus the fact Killer weapons ignore saves, she'd basically just murderlize people before they could retaliate every single time, thus making the reduced toughness a moot point, especially considering she's already formidable in that regard. Nice touch with the bike though, though be warned Deathwatch will give you a normal bike once that bike is inevitably destroyed.

Eh, you think so? I already realized that with everyone getting plus 2 from Killer weapons, toughness is either all or nothing. People don't wound T1 any better when their Str is 3, or if it's 5 or 6. Having +3 Str -1 Toughness, would actually make her MORE likely to lose to Setsuka. Vs a "Normal" player with T3, there is also no difference between Str 5 or 6. And, any PC fight, save between two heavies or people who take the +2 toughness killer weapons, is statistically likely to be over within two rounds, so you might as well have your killer weapon on right from the start.

Like it isn't just for the duration of that attack but takes place after the blow hits or misses. I mean, she has to reattach all those metal bits back onto her too. It's also the same deal with her bike; most of those metal bits she added herself exactly for the purpose of her killer weapon. It's actually kind of useless if there isn't enough lose metal around to make up the drill, like if she gets stuck fighting in an open parking lot of something. That usually isn't the case from my understanding, but even so her environment and equipment plays a part in if she can use her killer weapon or not. > Eh, you think so? While PvP is something that Free said would happen, before we could PvP one another we'd also have to fight through waves of mooks and boss-level NPC's, some of them with PC levels. Our Killer Weapons have to be saved not just against each other but also against other ranked badasses or else we might get wiped by NPC's with good tactics or better stats.

PVE combat is very real here, and some of them are very tough nuts to crack. The reason all KWs boost strength is so that there is never a time when it's totally impossible to hurt something. And bosses that are as strong as the average PC in total will be rare, I won't just 'lolstomp' everyone with statistically superior forces.

Say, we got any launch ETA or we waiting for more peeps? I came up with a mutant if you're letting people play multiples.

I'd rather people didn't play multiples, but it's probably good practice to make a spare character in the event of a gruesome demise. And I'd like at least one or two more players, know anyone who'd be interested?

I was invited to join. I hope you don't mind the Killer Weapon I chose. --- Username: Ryonara Name: Cryopath Age: 27 Gender: Male Race: Cyborg Appearance: Basically Cyropath looks like a cross between Regice and a frost atronach with some metal bits just to remind you that he's a robot. Standing at a whopping ten feet tall and eight feet wide this guy looks like a ice-theme mech than a half-human cyborg, but most of his human parts are just his organs anyways. He's covered in hard reflective ice with some spikes here and there to remind you that there's more than a frostbite in store if you get too close to him. Also like Regice, instead of a face he has some dots on his head which can change color to suit his emotions. Bio: Cyropath was formerly an esteemed robotic scientist before Death Watch took over his city. Initially, Cyropath wanted nothing to do with the slaughter. He was pacifistic to a fault, refusing to take part of the fighting even if he could have saved lives, figuring that he would have died and saved no one anyways. The only reason people even wanted him around was because of his robotic knowledge, which allowed him to give others cybernetic enhancements. But that would only protect him for so long when a organized band of Kill Stealers came and slaughtered nearly everyone including him. As his body grew colder, he crawled to his machines and hooked himself up to a life support system, where he slowly began to create a new body for himself as his physical one wasted away. He was growing steadily more unstable, but kept trying to hold onto his ideas, even if he ended up creating a mechanized suit to defend himself with. Now, whether he wanted to or not, he has entered Deathwatch as Cyropath, the delusional "Hero" trying to save everyone from Deathwatch. Personality: Despite being ice theme Cryopath has a warm heart and easily sympathies with others, and would even offer his help to them. But you might regret his charity when he turns you into his robotic slave, if he doesn't end up freezing you to death to "Protect you until this nightmare is over". Cryopath has a sort of willful ignorance that allows him to completely ignore any of his own flaws, or at least downplay them as something too trivial for him to have to fix. At best he has good intentions, but his executions become very literal in the sense of the word. Killer Weapon: Perfect Freeze - Cyropath's start radiating deathly cold air which freezes the ground solid and covering it with slick ice. Cyropath himself can walk the ice just fine but everyone else won't be so lucky. IF their feet aren't frozen to the ground they'll have to try to navigate over frictionless ice. Those caught in this personal blizzard start to get frozen solid and sluggish, two things you don't want to be when you're in Cryopath's swinging range. Gameplay Stats Weight class: Heavy, 4 additional points to spend. WS:2 BS:2 S:3 T:5 W:5 I:1 A:2 Killer weapon stats: -3 I -1 T to enemy Edge: Mighty Armor

I was going to have you change some stuff, but it seems fine upon further thought. With the -1 toughness you won't run into any situations where you can't hurt anything. So yeah, he's solid. I'll see about getting things rolling tonight, if I'm feeling better. I got a splitting headache.

Alright, for now just make an intro post. Another note: All deathwatch contestants, willing or not, were given an I-pad like device that mounts on the wrist, sort of like the Pip-boy from fallout. This thing'll give you data on targets, and generally help you keep in touch with deathwatch command, assuming you're a good contestant. Right now, you're all in Tangelo, a sort of 'Vegas-like' city out in the deserts of Former Nevada. As for an exact location, you're in an industrial sector by the looks.
