Will have a post up likely by the end of Saturday. Just pondering where to start. Does anyone want to choose which of my sample story lines to start on first?
I'd never tell someone else how exactly to RP but I would suggest that you start with the storyline that interests you the most and/or has the least amount of impact on your character/world. That way, you have an intro that you've enjoyed writing and one that has not changed much of your established world :)
I have some interesting ideas I'd like to try for each and I think I'll do them all eventually. Plus I've already decided on which I am going to start with, so no problems there. Thanks.

Before I make my next Spider-Man post, I want to fix my last post. I kind of made the door open the wrong way. >.< All bedroom doors that I know of open so that the door goes into the room, rather than out of.

So instead of pushing to keep the door closed, we would be pulling on it instead?

I was just wondering, what is the significance of Audax Mundus Novus?

It's Latin for "Brave, New (or Strange) World".

Oh. Just had a look at my own post... turns out nothing really needed to be changed to set your alteration. Love it when that happens.

That was a really nice post, @McHaggis. It's really interesting what you're doing with Rogue. Fence, Remy's business partner and, well, fence, is down in the Bayou right now in my arch. I've noticed that you're a year behind right now. I'm wondering if that's a conscious effort, or perhaps confusion. Either way, if Anna Marie is still down there in a years time, in your arch, then perhaps she could be approached by Fence with this offer to help him and Remy. She doesn't have to do it, obviously, but I think it would be a cool interaction between them and would set up any future relationship between Anna and Remy quite well. Tell me what you think about that.

McHaggis is correct. It is currently 2012 (around August). That's why I don't use time stamps... @The New Yorker: I noticed that one of your Gambit time stamps say 2014. Is that supposed to be correct? Honestly, I have been ignoring the time stamps (besides the months) when I have been reading the posts.

Ah, but it says 2012 is The Present Day on the info post! Probably just confusion on my part – I didn't realise most people were going by 2013. I'm down with that interaction, though. This first arc won't last that long, as it's more of an exercise in writing as her (since it'll take me a while to get into the swing of things) so after that, I can timeskip a year or so and we can work something out ^^ Alternatively, I could just change the date to January, 2013, so that the timeskip is only six or so months. I think Rogue would help, though, with a bit of complaining on the side. It would be cool!
I mean, I'm not even sure if I'm right about the date. It does say 2012 in the OP but there seems to be some consensus that present day is some time in 2013. IDK if that was lost in translation during the transition between GM's, but it is significant, and I meant to bring it up earlier. Glad to hear you're interested. We just need to find a way to get Rogue and Fence in the same place. Would Anna have any relations to former Thieves Guild or Assassin's Guild members. The groups are mostly disbanded at this point, but those who survived are still trying to make their way. Remy has a "brother" Fence is going to see, a beatnick thief with Robin Hood qualities. Perhaps Anna finds herself working with this group intermittently during her time as a vigilante. This means she can realistically be privy to Fence's offer to the brother, deciding for herself if she want's to help. I probably should have put this in a PM, but I'm pretty lazy right now, and this is how it came out. We can obviously smooth out the finer details through PM if you find this acceptable. EDIT:

Well then, I should say, you've been rather cruel in letting your players wallow in ignorance for the past few weeks. You should have said something earlier, and, perhaps, if you'd used timestamps, this problem wouldn't have occurred in the first place. This may seem trenchant, but I've seen stronger groups come apart from smaller tears in communication.

I was just thinking, after reading some of the Character Applications (that are all good), I noticed that a few important characters have been introduced in reference or in context. For example, in Dedonus' alone, Iceman is moved from team to team and given a backstory - and also characters such as Tony Stark and Reed Richards are mentioned. But, as stated for this RP, we can redesign the mainstream characters - and The New Yorker has already done that by changing Matt Murdock's name - so what if someone comes in with an application for Tony Stark, yet naming him Tony Burns or whatever? Is this impossible now due to the continuity we are constantly creating with every reference? Also, if people want to apply as characters already introduced, will they have to follow the existing continuity explicitly? I took and am still taking measures to avoid naming any other Inhumans, I've been saying 'the ruling Inhumans' instead of Black Bolt and Medusa, so wouldn't it be better if others did that also? And finally, with super-intelligent people like Reed Richards and Hank Pym being mentioned, wouldn't it be strange if - when we get to cross-character events that would affect the world in general - these people who are not being controlled don't show up, whereas logic would suggest they would? Sorry if this causes any problems or confusion, but it's just a thought I got.

I just noticed that they said 2013/2014 right now. Honestly, I thought that the time stamps said 2012 (the Doctor Doom ones do). I just overlooked them. Now that I am aware of what has happened, I'll be more mindful of making sure the time stamps are correct and saying something if they are not.

When you say that Tony Stark, Reed Richards, and Hank Pym have been mentioned, are you talking about them appearing in Spider-Man's "Powers and Abilities" section? If so, that is just for mainstream comparison rather than establishing characters. So far, we do not have a Tony Stark, Reed Richards, or a Hank Pym. Sorry if that confused you. Naming those names (Stark, Richards, McCoy, and Pym) was just a different way of saying that Peter is super smart. Also, I tried to keep as vague as possible on Iceman as possible in my character sheet just in case someone wanted to play him. All I would want that player to do is have him in the X-Men and the Amazing Friends. Otherwise, anyone could take any liberties with him. That's why Iceman hasn't appeared in the IC yet.

You bring up good points. As I see it, the currently players should take advantage of the world they're playing in, using characters that they deem fit in as loose (thematic ambiguity), and yet consistent (use of characterization and personality) a manner as possible. In the instances where someone comes in to fill those roles, they would have to fill in the shoes you've left behind. It's impossible to strike a perfect balance between incoming players and current players, which is why I feel it best if we lean toward the current players, those who are most readily effected by the rules. Incoming players will just have to deal with the fact that Wolverine's later life story is settled, and that Tony Stark is indeed a playboy entrepreneur, and Trask is a corrupted snake. All this being said, the GM get's final say on stuff like that.
