I'm debating between Flash(probably the Wally West iteration) or James Todd as Red Hood.
I like the Flash idea but am kinda iffy on the Red Hood idea. Of course if you were to be Walley West he would have to be the first Flash. I'm not saying don't be the Red Hood but you would have to make him his own character with nothing to do with Batman. This is because James Todd was as you know Robin first, and since heroes (including Batman) have only been around for about a month or so that gives us a continuity problem before we even start. However, if you can make him his own person away from Batman I have absolutely no problem with it!
If I were to go with James as Red Hood, then yeah I would have to do some things different so that it doesn't interfere with continuity problems. Though, given what you have said, probably going to turn away from James for the moment. Or not, who knows. I'll just have to put a few ideas into my thinking cap and see what works.

Cool, can't wait to see what you can think up! I'm sure we'll have plenty good characters in our little Universe. Everything seems to be going well, we're making progress! *edit I have specified what those reserved posts in the beginning of the thread are for if anyone is interested in looking at that. Any ideas on how to make those systems work are welcomed and encouraged!

Note the joking tone throughout the unfinished bits. Which is most of it. I'll be messing around with it for the next few days.
Can we stop calling Jason Todd "James Todd" by the way? I'd appreciate it.

Wow I didn't even realize I was doing that, oh well we'll put that down as a long running typo. Oh and you're right about it being Star City and not Starling so nobody is going to convince you otherwise. In our DCU it could be either anyway...

Well Ruby I got to say that's a good character sheet. I really like your arc ideas. One thing though, I'm assuming that Zatanna is just now starting her actual super hero career after taking on Allura? Superheroes just appeared in the last month or so meaning that decade of her travelling and training would be just that. She wouldn't actually be 'heroing' during that time right? If that's the case you are accepted and can put Ms. Zatara in the character section!
Before Allura she was more of a Laura Croft/Nathan Drake/Indiana Jones of magic. So no, not actual 'heroing.'

Hey guys. Wondering if I'd be able to reserve Batman? If so I can hopefully have a cs up tonight/tomorrow. Cheers, Sam.

Eh that's a tough one. The no sidekick rule is in effect for the time being so probably not. If Tundra wanted to do Nightwing or Red Robin (yum) I would have said no but Red Hood I could see it be an extremely hard stretch. As in he can go ahead and put out a character sheet but I'm not sure if it would actually be accepted. It would also be up to whoever we get to play Batman as he is the mentor character and get's first dibs. ErsatzEmperor has shown interest in being Batman so I wouldn't do anything about that until he or someone else got a Batman sheet up. Supergirl though I cant see as a character separate from Superman, she is literally his cousin. I can give you first dibs on a Kara sheet down the road if you are interested though... *edit As said above we have a player interested in Batman but feel free to get a sheet up. We can use the CS voting system for the first time! *edit 2 Zatanna has been added to the character OP, and I tried to find a ruby-ish color for your name!

Thanks! But yeah, I'll take first crack at Kara, should the opportunity come up. Be fun to play Vulcan-Kara. ^_^

Also villains such as Lex Luthor and the Joker will be played by the player taking on their heroes. (The player playing Batman will have all Batman villains to use in their character's multiple arcs.)
So we can't apply solely to be a villain? That's a bit unfortunate.

Super interested, have sheets ready to go, but as above I'm a little concerned with the ruling on villains as playable characters. For instance, Green Lantern blocks out Sinestro, who's a perfectly good character - he even starts a hero and his fall is a great arc to play out. And if BlackSam got Batman, he's suddenly controlling a good 10+ characters all with their own well-written personalities, backstories and plotlines to play - for instance, Harvey Dent, another hero who falls and arguably (or at least I'm arguing) a more interesting characer than the Knight himself (and also one I'd like to play as a secondary but that's neither here nor there). Plus, the Hero/Villain dichotomy is super fun to play against each other, and with a little in-house cooperation it's always exciting. In any case, I'm interested and I'll have a Constantine sheet up and ready to be approved as soon as I've snipped it enough. P.S. Is it a flat requirement to fill out the arc pitch section of the CS? I have many arcs to play with John but giving a good three of four of them away seems to spoil the fun somewhat.

Everyone so far has just given a little hook, not described the whole plot, so you don't really have to give away much.

If I do get Batman I was going to try and steer away from using his A-list villains at first, with one arguable exception, just in case someone wanted to use one of them as a character and Vandy decided to relax his rules, so the potential player wouldn't be constricted by my 'canon'. That, and I thought it might be nice to use some lesser known villains.

Well, this is the problem. So far, any hero blocks out a good double-digit number of otherwise fun and interesting characters (that could, by themselves, attract players to the game). Or they restrict themselves. I prefer the latter as more players = a longer-living game, and nothing restricts a writer, only 'encourages innovation', to use some doublespeak.

This. Everyone does Joker v Batman all the time. Give some other perfectly good villains screen time.

Before this thread there was the interest check which had this exchange:
One thing I think is a little iffy is people writing their own villains. Maybe it would be more interesting if everyone played someone else's villains?
Hmm, interesting idea on the villains. We could certainly do something like that bu it would have to be agreed upon by the player playing the hero in case they want to have full control over their character. Villains could definitely be played as a collab type system though. Great idea Lovleand!
EDIT ... That came out really soapbox-y. /failed EDIT #2 I couldn't stand it any longer. So I snipped stuff. :D
