NARRATIVE The world has been in peace for 10 years. In this time, there has not been wars wasting resources, like forcing diplomatic or religious views on other cities. Each city continues the working trend of attempting isolation from other cities. However, minus economic and cultural trade and scientific study. Despite speculation that peace wouldn't continue, it has for a while, thus scientists and engineers have gained a standing over the seemingly no longer needed military. A boom in technology is predicted soon, as scientists and engineers try to make the world a better place. Your story begins in Trip City. A modern city seperated by others. How will you continue your story?

Jason couldn't help but scowl in annoyance as he knocked heavily on the tight metal door. A slide opened up near the top, and red, blurry red eyes stared out - more specifically, at the white, taped package in the hooded, young man's hand. "Is that the shit?" A raspy, mousy voice came from the steel door. Once more, Jason scowled, although he spoke up, his smoky, yet young voice holding a tint of annoyance. "It is. Pay up." After a brief pause, a wad of twenties and hundreds came sliding through the panel, and Jason shoved the package through before pocketing the money and blatantly about-facing. As he passed a camera, he casually took a piece of heavy duct-tape from the lens, his form already gone when the sensors began to pick up again. As he began walking away from the seedy apartment, Jason allowed his scowl to fall away, replaced by a small smirk. He fingered the heavy bills in his pocket, casually dodging away from a speeding cyclist. "All in a day's work." Delivering suspicious packages..well, it wasn't the best jobs, but it sure did pay well.

Ithen Roberts Ithen quickly ran out of a book store, with magazines flying after him. The magazines were being thrown by the store manager right at him. Ithen fumbled a bit, on his way out, and his hood fell onto his head. Placing his hood back in place in respect, he bowed, standing. Ithan shouted, "I swear I didn't do it!" The store manager was a fiesty old man, he was bald but had a little amount of muscle left on him, which could be intimidating to some people. The manager responded, "Sure, just like last time! Take that damn ruined merchandise and be off with you! You're fired!" The manager walked off, only to return saying, "For the last time!" before slamming the door again. Ithen could only be a little embarrassed has he made a scene in the middle of the street. "Can't say I didn't see that coming." He put his hands in his pockets and started to walk down the street, smiling cockily to himself and lighting a cigar. He picked up one of the magazines while he was at it.

”I think you’ve wiped that table enough. Anymore and it will start to erode away.” The sudden voice jolted Autumn out of the thoughts that had been stealing her attention. The girl glanced up from the booth table to see Jack standing in front of her. Her uncle stood at a good six feet with broad shoulders and a tapered waist. His legs were long and lean which allowed him to move and move fast. The man had a strong jaw with prominent cheekbones and full lips. His eyebrows, set over bright blue orbs, were bushy. Jack had one eyebrow raised, staring at his adopted niece with an inquisitive look, wondering what it was that had distracted Autumn so. Normally the girl was very focused but over the past few days Jack noticed that Autumn’s concentration seemed to be elsewhere. ”Are you feeling alright Autumn? You've been in a daze all morning. Autumn straightened, rag still clenched in her hand. ”I apologize Uncle. I assure you I am fine.” Jack’s eyebrow raised even higher at that statement. ”Fine? Now don’t give me that lass, you are most certainly not fine. Or are those bags under your eyes simply a new fashion statement?” Autumn’s hand subconsciously reached up to touch the bruise-colored mark under her right eye. Yes, she would admit that they looked bad when she had seen her reflection in the mirror this morning but it was just lack of sleep. She told her uncle as much. ”It’s fine. I just haven’t been sleeping as well as I normally do.” She did not know why she did not want to tell her uncle the reason she had been getting so little sleep but she wanted to figure it out on her own. The dream was her problem and she didn’t need to burden her uncle with anymore worry, especially since things were hectic at the bar with them losing a few workers and having to up the work load. Jack frowned, sensing that there was something that Autumn wasn’t telling him. ”Are you sure? Because you know that you can talk to me about anything that is bothering you.” Autumn gave her uncle a forced smile. ”If anything does come up I’ll be sure to some to you.” Jack stared at the girl for a few moments before sighing, realizing that this was all that he was going to be able to get out of Autumn. He nodded and told the girl that he would be in the office if she needed him before heading off. With her uncle no longer hovering over her shoulder Autumn returned to wiping down the tables, mind returning to her problem at hand. That dream. That strange dream. She just couldn’t make heads or tails of it. For the past few days she had been having a dream where she is under water. In the dream the water had been so clear that she could see for miles on all side. She had seen the surface simmering above her but no matter how hard she had tried she just couldn’t reach it. The really odd thing was that she could breathe and that her clothes remained strangely dry though she could feel the currants dancing around her. Eventually, she would be able to see a dark mass slowly swimming towards her but she always wakes up before she could catch a glimpse at what it might be. It made her curious and she could just not stop thinking about it. But she hadn’t realized she had been that lost in thought until Jack had said something. She really should stop it, it wasn’t good to be absent-minded when there was work to be done. With that thought strongly in her mind she forced herself away from the mystery and back into the present. She cast a look around. The bar part of the establishment didn’t open until after five but the restaurant portion opened at around seven. It was generally slow in the mornings and didn’t pick up until lunch time. Which was why Autumn and Sal were the only two waiters until Ryan and Sarah clocked in at eleven. Speaking of Sal, where was he? Autumn scanned the area and finally spotted the boy taking an order from a man in a suit. Realizing that she had spent way too long wiping tables, Autumn put away the rag and took out her notepad as she made her way over to one of the regulars. ”Good morning James. What will you be having this morning?” She said as she approached the old gentleman. James grinned at her, the gap where his two front teeth used to be showing prominently. ”How many times have I told you Autumn, call me Jim. And I will have my usual, like always.” Autumn nodded as she scribbled down the order of scrambled eggs, bacon, and toast with a cup of coffee. ”Anyway Autumn, are you alright? You’re looking a little worse for wear there.” Autumn smiled cordially and repeated the same answer she had given her uncle. Jim looked skeptically at her for a moment. Before he could interrogate her even further, Autumn bowed her head and hurried over to give the cook the order.

Ebony sighed as she finally left the condo. This morning had been quite eventful leaving her with a bruise on her arm and an aching cheek. Ebony made her way out of the building and walked down the streets lost in thought. Her mind continued to play the events of the morning over and over again.
Ebony woke up at her normal time and took a shower. She got ready by drying her hair, putting the wavy chocolate brown hair into a bun, then applying the minimal makeup after brushing her teeth. Ebony threw on an oversize grey sweater with her turquoise skinny jeans and black wedge studded boots. She walked to the kitchen where she prepared her Managers breakfast and coffee and set it out just as he walked in. He sat down silently and began to eat his food. Ebony had rushed away fetching her phone and purse before walking towards the door. Just as she thought that she was finally free, a tight grip grabbed her forearm. She winced at how tightly he was gripping her arm as he forced her to turn around. "Where do you think you are going?" Her manager growled obviously upset. "You screwed up my breakfast again you stupid brat. Why wasn't there any cream in my coffee and why wasn't there bacon?!" He yelled angrily. Ebony looked at him scared, "I-i... We didn't have any bacon left and I forgot about the cream. I'm sorry" she said not making eye contact. Her manager stayed silent and she thought he would be understanding this time. She was wrong. A hand soon connected with her face as he gave her a hard slap and squeezed her arm tighter before pushing her back releasing her arm. "Stupid brat. Go get more bacon and next time you better have everything I want, or else!" He threatened before stalking away to his office. Ebony held a hand over her cheek before turning around and rushing out of the condo.
Ebony shook her head as she walked down the street. She wasn't in the best part of the city anymore but she could careless right now. She just continued walking with no actual goal as to where she was going.

Jason's walk was unhurried and casual - to avoid suspicion, he always reminded himself. Being a...'runner' of sorts wasn't bad. He basically just chilled in his apartment or something until someone sends him a letter, describing where the package is hidden, and where he needs to take said package. He had another package to finish off the day, and it was located in something called The Silver Dragon. As he walked passed the form of a mother disciplining her child, Jason adjusted his hoodie, so that the hood left his upper face in shadows. The young man wore his usual street clothing, consisting of a white long-sleeved shirt un-buttoned half-way, with a half-unzipped gray hoodie over that, and a durable leather jacket with emblems over that. It was practical, casual, and it allowed him to go everywhere without any suspicion - it wasn't ratty enough to get him kicked out of fancy restaraunts, and it wasn't rich enough to get him jumped in the ghettos. Perfect. As he got within touching distance of the bar/restaraunt...he noted...that it wasn't open. Great. Perfect. How would he get the stupid package? With a grunt, he entered quietly. Knowing the deliverer, he would only be here for the booze, and so he had to wait until the entire thing opened...or, he could get lucky, and the man could come early. He sat at a table near the back, hiding his face behind the menu.

After taking Jim his order Autumn glanced around. The restaurant had filled up in a short amount of time. It seemed like all of the followers from a church right across the street wanted breakfast at the exact same time. Not only that but a family of six showed up not a minute later. Autumn and Sal were doing the best they could but Jack had to step in as well and start taking orders. Autumn was moving non-stop, taking orders left and right. What had been a quiet morning was now a hectic morning. Autumn hoped the rest of the day wasn't going to be like this or she would be dead on her feet by the time her shift was over. After arguing with a woman over the price of a coffee, which the woman wanted at a discount they had had it at last week but they didn't this week, Autumn finally had a breather. She stopped by the kitchen for a quick glass of water that she down before heading back out there. She scanned the floor, seeing Jack dealing with a few church-goers and poor Sal was over by the family of six. Autumn headed over, spotting a lone man sitting at a table on her way. Figuring she could quickly snag his order before going to help Sal, Autumn headed over. "Good Morning sir, what can I get you?"

Zade Magnus Zade Magnus was at his desk drinking coffee in the news center. The news center was a large skyscraper in the middle of the city square. It typically showed colorful advertisements to the people walking or driving by the city center, which was the hub of many activities. Now that the cities preferred not to wage war, things have gotten quiet. But possibly too quiet. Zade started to feel anxious about his job and what the future might hold for him. His printer started to print wirelessly from someone else's office. Zade got a text from someone just then. He realized it was his boss. "hey z, heres your story for tonight. they got those new rabbit things coming out on the market and they paid us well to have it featured. your on in 30" Zade sighed and thought to himself. If this guy wasn't his boss, he would have tought him a thing or two about capitalization and the difference between you're and your. Zade hated technology and felt like it was dumbing down society. He put down his coffee and picked up his papers to skim over it. Then he headed down to the recording studio nervously fixing his tie. Just because he's been speaking on TV for years didn't mean he was any more comfortable with it. The thought of speaking to millions of people was harder than actually doing it. He just needed that red recording light on before he could be that confident reporter.

The pencil scratched gently against the page of Arran’s sketchbook, as she carefully rendered the view from her vantage point; perched on the top of a stonewall. There was something off about the drawing, probably the perspective. If there was one thing Arran hated about having only one working eye; it was that she lost all depth perception. Sighing, Arran packed up her pencils into a metal tin and slipped them into her bag. She knew if she continued trying to draw the cityscape she would get so frustrated that is wasn’t worth it. Flicking back through her sketchbook revealed page after page of good, but not quite right drawings; landscapes, houses, animals, people, vehicles, food, still life, and clockwork, lots and lots of clockwork. Almost every spare corner, gap, nook and cranny was crammed with sketches of clockwork. Closing the book with a snap, Arran dropped it into her bag. Lying back on the wall she stared up at the sky, a sky so wonderfully blue. There was, of course, the skyscrapers towering up in the distance, but here, near the edge of the city, the sky was unobstructed, beautiful. Closing her eyes and lying back on the wall, Arran dozed off, tired after getting up early that morning, due to the dog needing out. Admittedly it hadn't been that early, but for Arran anything before ten was considered early.

The voice caused him to glance up. Jason rose an eyebrow, his hood thankfully hiding any rude facial expressions he could make. "Yeah," He began, glancing back down at the menu, which he had placed flat on the table. Getting something would hopefully hide any suspicion while he waited for the delivery. "Just a water." It wasn't that much money. With a shrug, he took out a few bucks and laid it on the table, while leaning back and giving the female a half-lidded smirk. Water wouldn't make him sleepy, sluggish, or anything - especially if he had to get in a fight, which happened quite a lot in these jobs. His hands fingered the hilt of his scarred switch-blade, located deep in the pocket of his leather jacket.

A sound sliced through the air, jolting Arran awake. Sitting up she glared round trying to find the source of the noise. Finally after realizing there was no one else around to whom it could belong, she fished her old ‘small brick’ phone out of its plastic ziplock bag in the outer pocket of her satchel. Damn Arran thought, I obviously didn’t soak it long enough. She considered dropping it to the pavement below and watching it shatter, but that would be a waste of money when her parents brought her a new phone. Stabbing the green button, she lifted the phone to her ear. “Hello?” “Ah Arran so glad you picked up, Can you come and meet me in town?” said a tinny male voice from the other end of the phone. Arran blinked, “Ummm…… No?” “Really Arran, its about your eye.” the voice, which Arran realized belonged to her uncle, tried to convince her. “I have been talking to someone and they think they can do something about it.” Snarling silently Arran replied trying her hardest to keep her tone neutral, “Sorry uncle, I’m busy today.” She thumbed the red button to shut off the call, jumping down from the wall as she did so. Arran hated people trying to mess with her eye, it was fine as it was, why couldn’t people see that? But all most people could see was the eye patch. She walked over to where a big dog was lying, he looked up when she approached and cocked his ‘eyebrows’ at her inquisitively. “Its fine, its fine.” Arran told him, ruffling the fur behind his ears. “Shall we go finish this walk?” untying the lead from round her waist, Arran waited till the dog, Rig, had pulled himself up before clipping it to his collar, pulling her headphones on, and heading off down the street.

Ithen Roberts Ithen had walked down the street for a while, but now was smoking at a bus stop and looking through the magazine that was thrown at him. It was mostly a book about famous pop stars and other celebrity updates. The one thing that Ithen was interested in was a cover story on Ebony. Even if he did want to read the story about Ebony, someone put gum between the two pages that featured her, and someone else, or the same person ripped out the others. His manager thought that he did it because of how he kept openingly stating how much he didn't like her, as he did with other celebrities, but it was only because his pride wouldn't admit otherwise. He chuckled at the thought of how the magazine was unfit to sell because it was ruined. "He's right," He tossed the magazine into the trash next to him. "It's useless now." Sitting down, he spotted something of interest down the road. A big dog. Ithen loved dogs. He started walking down the street to approach Arran.

Arran sighed as Rig stopped again to sniff another inanimate object. Sometimes it felt like he wanted to sniff every single blade of grass. Counting to five in German, just for the sake of it, Arran tugged Rig away, leaning her whole body backwards so as to have enough force. Rig was a big dog; his head came up to just below her waist, and his broad chest gave him a lot of power, even though he was getting old and fat, that didn’t stop him being strong. In all probability, Arran would never have been able to control him had he not had the friendly temperament that he had. It was a bit of a joke to the family; he was a big enough dog to scare intruders off, but he was actually more likely to ask for a tummy scratch than to actually try frightening anyone. Lost in her thoughts, and her music, Arran let Rig lead the way, before he stopped again to sniff something else, glancing at him, Arran suddenly realized the thing Rig was sniffing wasn’t a letterbox, bush, street corner, or even a power pole, it was in fact, somebody’s shoe. “Oh sorry,” Arran gently yanked Rig’s lead to let the poor person past. Glancing up she saw a boy with blue hair, a fascinating colour, like the evening sky before the sun set.

Ithen Roberts Ithen wasn't good at making friends, but was the kind of person who would be loud and obnoxious trying. Of course, usually he didn't try too hard, but in this case there was a dog. He loved dogs. He always thought of getting his own but could never hold a job long enough to do it. So he always tried to introduce himself to dog owners as if it was his job to do so. As he approached the red and black haired character he smiled a huge smile, trying hard not to be awkward and put his hand behind his neck. "What a pretty dog." He paused, "C-can I pet it?" He look away trying to show that he was expecting a 'no' for an answer. He didn't want to be rude and do it suddenly. Some dogs were aggressive after-all.

@Ves Autumn would admit, a lone man wearing a hood inside was suspicious but he didn't seem to be causing any trouble as it was so she would leave him be though she was going to be sure to keep an eye on him. She nodded as she jotted down his order and was quick to bring him a water. "Just let me know if you want anything else." She gave him a smile before going over and helping Sal take orders. Thankfully, they all knew what they wanted and so the orders were whisked off to the kitchen in no time. Sal shot her a grateful smile as he grabbed a tray and worked on taking the family their drinks. She told him to come get her to help take their food to them before walking over and asking an elderly man what he wanted. She was then forced to stand there with a smile fixed on her face as he went off on a long rant about how "these young whippersnappers don't know know no respect these days" all because she didn't automatically know what he wanted to drink. He claimed to come in everyday but Autumn knew for a fact that she has only seen him twice before and Sal or one of the others would wait on him. After finally getting his order out of him, Autumn sighed as the order was sent to the kitchen. She paused to take a breather and drink a glass of water. As she did her eyes trayed back over to the single man sitting at the table. She wondered why he kept his face covered. Was he on the run from something?

@Kitty Marius slammed the door to his cramped, unpleasant abode, the description of which was more akin to a cell than a studio apartment, at least according to Marius. Keys in one hand, lunchbox in the other, the disgruntled man turned around and slid the key into the hole, locking the deadbolt swiftly. With another turn, his brisk, confident stride led him out of the borderline-slum apartment complex and out onto the sidewalk. This was the regular workday of Marius Caustellus. A hot shower, a hot breakfast and a cold-blooded reminder to follow the guidelines of regular society, as well as a lunch large enough to tide him over until dinnertime. His simple, off-white T-shirt and stained jeans only framed him completely as a laborer when a pair of damaged brown boots were included with his outfit. It was a fairly short walk to the industrial area of Trip City from his apartment, which explained why the area was in such disrepair. Plummeting property value. The only people who lived in this area were people that had to. It was a neighborhood where police presence was a distant thought, and shady dealings took place day and night. Marius was bright enough to arm himself, but not with anything as expensive as a gun. He felt at ease as long as he knew he had the upper hand. A couple hidden combat knives and a collapsible metal baton with a built in taser were his idea of an upper hand. The baton was his favorite. He had designed and built it himself, but had failed to retain enough cash to apply for a patent, so until then, he decided to test it on any would-be thieves. The entire length of the baton, handle aside, was designed to deliver a near-lethal dose of electricity. This meant any attempt to grab the shaft resulted in what Marius called “entertainment”; primarily, stiffening of the mugger's body and a pain-induced shriek. A simple poke from the tip could deliver the same effect. Turning on the electricity was as simple as a pull of the trigger. Confidently striding along the empty sidewalk, Marius noticed a figure trudging into view. The closer he came, the stronger his familiarity with the figure. This was a strange occurrence though; Marius barely knew the people he worked with, and he doubted he could pick any one of them out of a line-up 50 feet away. “Shorty. Female. Brown hair.” Marius' inner monologue profiled the girl as he drew close to her. “Those eyes are so familiar.” The lunchbox toting man stared carelessly at the girl even as he passed her. “Ah! It's-” Marius stopped and turned to the girl. “Miss Ebony Wildes.” His voice was fairly serious, yet nothing too stiff. “This isn't really a safe place for such a young girl, you know.”

As Jason sat there, nursing the cold glass of water, his hooded face suddenly went taut as he noticed someone enter the building. It was a rather large man, beefy with a beer belly, and he had on what appeared to be an ill-fitting suit that had grease and whatever-the-fuck stains on the front. The man had what appeared to be a bulky suitcase in his fat hands, and his pig-like eyes wandered over every single face in the bar, before finally resting on Jason's table. "Time to get this show on the road..." He grumbled, barely audible as the man seemed to perk up and walk fast towards his table. His grip on his switchblade got too tight, causing his knuckles to pale and pop as the man got closer. This man...this man was very, very well-known in the underground for hosting fighting rings and dog pits, along with a rather well-known drug-smuggling ring that went throughout the sewer system of Trip City. He couldn't mess this deal and delivery up; it could seriously mean his livelihood...and Whatever is In The Sky knows that he spent too much sweat, tears, and literal blood on staying alive. "Jasoooon!" The man yelled out in an obnoxiously accented voice as he stood with his arms wide open; Like a dick, Jason noted, peeling his lip back in barely concealed disgust. Standing, Jason gave the man a stiff hand-shake, dully noting that his hands felt like sand-paper and sweat mixed together. Not a very good feeling. "Sit, sit, let's talk business." The large man sat, the chair creaking ominously, and Jason dully followed suit. Without hesitation, Mr. Vicorelli smiled a gap-toothed smile, lugging his suitcase onto the table and spilling water onto the floor. Jason absent-mindedly fixed the glass upright, his eyes narrowed as the suitcase was opened - revealing five small, tennisball-sized pods. Containing what? He didn't want to know. "Tell me, what is this?" The man's smile was fixed. "Contraband that needs to be delivered." Jason said flatly, scooping up the orbs and pocketing them. "Where to?" The man, surprised by the abruptness, only chuckled jovially and closed his eyes. "Past Rat's Nest; place it in the trashcan fifty feet from the gray-roofed orphanage, and knock twice on the lid before leaving." Eidetic memory automatically memorizing the place, Jason mentally grunted as he stood. "It'll be done. Where's the pay?" "You'll get it." Fucking- He cut himself off. He couldn't be impatient; they would pay him, or he would rip their throats out. Or they would beat his ass. Whichever happens first. Scowling, he headed towards the door, ignoring the sound of laughter from the fat man behind him.

"Fuck." Thanatos gritted her teeth in annoyance as her fingers ghosted over the keyboard, her other hand on her mouse. Her team was stupid. She could handle this by herself; she had close to no idea why she chose to play with a team. Other people only held her down. She was about to singlehandedly complete the mission when the screen blacked out. She considered screaming in frustration, but found it to be too bothersome. Her nosy neighbor may come over, too, and explaining and warding him off would take even more energy. So she decided against it. Standing up, her rather long, uncared for nails raked the back of her computer. The charger was plugged in. Her eye twitched and she clucked her tongue, before picking up and unplugging the computer, dumping it in the extra room that she had. Her other, well-worn electronics rested in the otherwise bare room. Tying her hair up into a bun, she walked into her room and grabbed the nearest article of clothing to pull over her head. A maxi dress. She paired sneakers with the dress, grabbed her bag and headed out. She didn't bother to find out why her computer blacked out; usually, the ones she chose were of a higher grade, which could last her at least four years. The computer had served her well for the past three. She pulled out and lit a cigarette, her phone in a hand. As she passed by, she attracted several looks, due to her hair; usually, most girls her age who dyed their hair bothered to cover her roots. Not her; she didn't bother. Once again - too much energy, too much effort. She kept her eyes on her phone; she didn't want to make any eye contact with anyone. She was shoved into the wall, though, by a group of rowdy prepubescent teenage boys. Now ticked off, she gripped her bag tightly and swung it, the bag colliding with the boy who had shoved her's head. She glared at the rest and walked off, missing the couple of fingers flipped at her.

@XxLyraxX "Thank you for choosing Silver Dragon as your caterer today we hope you will choose us the next time you order delivery" Eris said with a smile then turned around counting the cash that she had been handed. Pocketing her tip she got into her usual sprinter's launch position and revved her wheels before taking off down the sidewalk avoiding pedestrians while keeping her calm. When she reached an alleyway she ducked into it following the path all the way to the end where it let her out a block away from the restaurant and sped down the road towards it stopping right outside the backdoor. "I'm back!" she called out so that her co-workers could hear her before sitting down on a stool next to the phone and deactivating her skates while she was indoors. After she finished she put them in her locker and changed into her sneakers, then walked out to check in and put the money in the register. When she walked out she saw Autumn and walked up to her, "hey Autumn, I'm back but have you seen where Jack is because I need to check in with him" she said as she stored her delivery bag on the wall and started fidgeting "He told me if I was late again he would dock my pay, and I can't have that happen."

Zade Magnus Zade sat at the desk of the news studio. A camera man signaled the countdown and the recording light went on.
"Hello Trip City! Zade Magnus, here bringing you the lastest news today in Trip City. Today marked the release of the new personal home unit. It's a small simply designed animal named the Zumi created by the company Ethilin. It reads e-mails, plays music. It can respond to basic conversations and also has GPS. More aps are available through 3rd parties. They're soft unlike cellphones and are slightly animated, despite being immobile. For example, they can't stand back up when fallen over. It comes in different colors, animals, and is widely available at your local GaME [Game and Media Entertainment] shops." "Also, keep an eye out for motorized rollar blades and skateboards coming to the city soon. While many sport fans will try to keep traditional sports alive, more people are welcoming the future of easier mobility."
After other news reports Zade switched out with another host. Besides, the news usually looped this information along with others, as well as ads to keep the stations going. Zade went to the break room and got a glass of water. It was just him and one other person in the room. Zade walked up the coworker to start some small chat, "This place used to be a lot more lively around this time. What happened to everyone?" His coworker was playing a game on his cellphone and didn't realize Zade was talking to him. His coworker paused his game, "Oh, were you talking to me?" Zade sighed. "Not you too... Come on. I haven't talked to anyone here for a couple of days now, let alone seen my boss in a week. He used to stop by all the time to drop in a script. Now he just texts me and sends it wirelessly through a scanner." His coworker responded, "Um, attention hungry much? Two days ago isn't that long. Besides, I like my boss texting me. It's more laid back that way and I can curse at him without him hearing." They both went silent as they saw their boss walk past the break door. They realized he probably didn't hear them. Zade crossed his arms as his coworker went back to playing his game. "I just miss human interaction, alright?" Zade muttered under hus breath after realizing the man wasn't listening, "What's the point. It's not like I ever found out your name since you started anyways." Zade left to go back to his office. He was thinking of probably buying the Zumi just so he could have something to talk to.
