Zade Magnus
Zade sat at the desk of the news studio. A camera man signaled the countdown and the recording light went on.
"Hello Trip City! Zade Magnus, here bringing you the lastest news today in Trip City. Today marked the release of the new personal home unit. It's a small simply designed animal named the Zumi created by the company Ethilin. It reads e-mails, plays music. It can respond to basic conversations and also has GPS. More aps are available through 3rd parties. They're soft unlike cellphones and are slightly animated, despite being immobile. For example, they can't stand back up when fallen over. It comes in different colors, animals, and is widely available at your local GaME [Game and Media Entertainment] shops."
"Also, keep an eye out for motorized rollar blades and skateboards coming to the city soon. While many sport fans will try to keep traditional sports alive, more people are welcoming the future of easier mobility."
After other news reports Zade switched out with another host. Besides, the news usually looped this information along with others, as well as ads to keep the stations going.
Zade went to the break room and got a glass of water. It was just him and one other person in the room. Zade walked up the coworker to start some small chat, "This place used to be a lot more lively around this time. What happened to everyone?" His coworker was playing a game on his cellphone and didn't realize Zade was talking to him. His coworker paused his game, "Oh, were you talking to me?"
Zade sighed. "Not you too... Come on. I haven't talked to anyone here for a couple of days now, let alone seen my boss in a week. He used to stop by all the time to drop in a script. Now he just texts me and sends it wirelessly through a scanner." His coworker responded, "Um, attention hungry much? Two days ago isn't that long. Besides, I like my boss texting me. It's more laid back that way and I can curse at him without him hearing." They both went silent as they saw their boss walk past the break door.
They realized he probably didn't hear them. Zade crossed his arms as his coworker went back to playing his game. "I just miss human interaction, alright?" Zade muttered under hus breath after realizing the man wasn't listening, "What's the point. It's not like I ever found out your name since you started anyways." Zade left to go back to his office. He was thinking of probably buying the Zumi just so he could have something to talk to.
