I don’t know who you are. I don’t know what drove you to make the decisions that brought you here. All I know, is that you are standing here, at the edge of hell, which means you all have something you want. It means that somewhere, deep inside your heart, there’s a cold and dark place the devil likes. And when he offered you what you desired, you agreed to play the game. Well, let me tell you this: You made a terrible mistake… ----------------------------- So I wanted to host an RP, where the characters have all made a deal with the devil: they get something they want, and in return, they play a game. Those who lose, will spend eternity in hell. The game rules would be as follows:
  • At the beginning of the game, every contestants gets a small crystal, containing the soul of a random other contestant.
  • Then, everyone is dropped off at different places in a certain world (depending on what you guys want, this could be anything from a forest to some nightmare world to the regular world).
  • A person can live without their soul for only 13 days.
  • Those who reclaim their soul get to life, but they have to choose whether they want their wish fulfilled, or to blow off the deal and avoid hell.
  • Those who have both their own soul and that of another person at the end of the game, will both get their wish and salvation.
  • In the game, you are free to work together or lie, steal and even kill, to get what you want, morality won't affect whether you go to hell in this case after all.
Feel free to suggest anything you want, whether it is about the game or anything else.

Nice, I will wait and see if there's some more interested it. Preferably I'd want 4 players at least, but it could work with less :)

This looks really cool. I'm a bit confused though, if they win the game do they only get their wish, but must stay in Hell? Or by avoid Hell are you saying that they would end up living out their lives normally on Earth, and then when they die they won't go to Hell? Considered me as interested, though.

I was thinking something along the lines of: If you win the game, you get the right to make a deal with the devil. If you want your wish, you need to trade a soul for that wish. But it doesn't have to be your soul, it can be that of another person. SO if you manage to keep hold of a soul of someone else, you can trade it for your wish without risking your own place in heaven. If only have your own soul at the end of the game and make a deal, you will be allowed to live a full life, but after that your soul will be collected by the devil. That is, unless you can come up with a rule change that would make things more fun, I've been out of the running for some time so I am open to all suggestions.

I actually like the idea of trying to keep the soul of someone else to get what you truly desire. The one and only downside to that is that our characters will literally be trying to keep away from each other most of the time, especially if they get their own soul back. xD So it would be a very solo-driven roleplay, in my mind. But we could probably work something around that. I doubt that Angels would get involved, and Demons would probably be mocking the players the whole time. Maybe we could consider adding more rules to the game. Such as, either everyone has a pair (someone that won't have their soul), or everyone has to stay together for a certain period of time? I'm just trying to think of a way to get more character interaction in, unless you don't want it. In which case, please ignore my ramblings. xD

No no, thanks for your ideas :) I do want to find a way to have people be more involved with each other. Maybe if there was a reason why working together would give you an advantage somehow, but I still want betrayal to be a realistic option. I don't think I will let Gods or angels play a huge roll in this story, I don't even know if they should exist. Maybe this is just some crapsack world where there is only 'evil' and 'absence of evil'. Otherwise, this will be some kind of game angels either aren't aware of, or have no jurisdiction over. (Since every participant agreed to play the game) But who knows, depending on how the story goes, they might just show up... Demons might make a short visit, but they don't have anything to gain or lose by hindering or helping the players. Most demons would agree that seeing humans destroy each other is way more fun than destroying them yourself.

Betrayal is definitely needed, I say. Not everyone should play fair, or even want to for that matter. They are there for something important to them, and that should be their goal. Would the coordinator of the game (I'm assuming this is the Devil) tell them all of the rules outright? If he were trying to just screw them over, he could hide some of the facts, such as they could die if their souls don't get back to them in a certain amount of time. He could only say like, keep these souls, they will be your key to salvation. At first everyone could think like, oh well we all have a chance to win. We need to work together to get to the final point, and when we do, we can all get our wishes. Then someone could drop a vial or something, just kill off a random side character that doesn't matter, and everyone freaks out. I'll think more on it while I'm at work, and I'll tell you if anymore possible ideas come to mind!
