Hey everyone! I'm the friend that DevourerofLove mentioned. I must admit I don't know the first thing about the Jojo franchise, but DoL seemed really enthusiastic for me to join, so I thought, hey, why not? Here's what I have so far:
Name: Simon Preston
Age: 23
Gender: Male
Appearance: Pale and lanky, Simon does not have the countenance of a typical hero, and a long coat in the vibrant green and yellow of his home country can only do so much, particularly when he still slouches. Not helping either are the thick spectacles hiding his crystal blue eyes, or the short, dorky business cut of his chocolate brown hair. Not to mention the tablet he's always carrying around, constantly taking down notes about the world around him and the battles his Stand fights...
Stand name: Sentinel
Stand appearance: Initially, Sentinel appeared to Simon in the form of a small, perfectly smooth, perfectly grey (RGB 128, 128, 128) metallic cube exactly 10 centimetres to a side. A small section of text crawled across one face that introduced the cube as an "engineering construct", and asked Simon to "commence metallic construct fabrication". Eventually, after the initial confusion wore off and Simon began to learn more of what had happened to him, he quickly determined that the cube he had been gifted was not something that had ever been intended to see combat. It moved slowly... ponderously... and its powers worked at much the same sedate pace. If he was going to fight with this thing, it was going to take some clever and inventive thinking. With that, Simon reached for his military history books and within the span of just a few days (and with a large amount of a nearby junkyard's inventory having mysteriously vanished overnight), Sentinel was born.
In terms of its appearance now, Sentinel looks to be nothing more or less than a chibi version of the Second World War cruiser tank for which it has been named. A rounded, grey-and-white chassis armored with thick steel plates houses large caterpillar tracks and a machine gun. On top of the chassis sits a small, squat turret in which the Stand's shiny main cannon sits, and on top of which the second, larger machine gun is housed. This rolling miniature behemoth of a stand generally remains in this form most of the time, but is capable of detaching and breaking down the lower half of the chassis into a series of marginally more nimble "legs" (on four of which rest the four quarters of its tank tracks) for movement on terrain too awkward for the treads. As Simon put it, "If you've ever seen the transforming AI things from Interstellar... he's kind of like that..."

(Note: Whilst a real AC1 Sentinel is 6.3m long, 2.75m wide and 2.55m tall, I imagine Simon's stand is at most two-thirds that, comparable to a subcompact car or a tankette. It shouldn't be significantly taller than Simon's own height of 165 cm)
Stand abilities: Electromagnetic manipulation (industrial grade): Sentinel has the ability to create and manipulate electromagnetic fields, allowing it to influence electricity and control metal. This power, however, whilst extremely precise, is extremely limited in how rapidly it can be applied. Unlike a certain famous comic book supervillian, Sentinel's magnetic powers are, by themselves, all but useless in direct combat. As Simon put it, "he's more useful at the foundry than the coliseum." For that reason, the two of them had to get a little bit... creative... in order to make Sentinel combat ready.
Coilguns: Sentinel's primary (and in large part only) weaponry consists of three powerful coilguns... a practical application of the Stand's magnetic powers... Each of these weapons is, for reasons that can only be explained with a flippant, "I'm a MASSIVE nerd" from Simon, stylized after a weapon that was used during the Second World War. The first is Sentinel's main cannon housed in the turret, a potent but relatively slow-firing 40mm coilgun styled after the Ordnance QF 2-pounder, the same weapon that was used by the Australian AC1 Sentinel cruiser tank for which Simon's Stand is named. The second, which is housed in the belly of Sentinel's chassis and thus is the most well-protected of the coilguns, is styled after the Vickers .303 machine gun that was prevalent on Commonwealth tanks of the period. This gun is the weakest but also the fastest firing of the three coilguns. Finally, the third coilgun is housed on a pintle mounting at the top of the turret, and is styled after the Browning .50 caliber heavy machine gun. This mounting is very vulnerable to being snapped off of Sentinel during combat, but provides a great deal of freedom in aiming compared with the other two weapons. In terms of power and firing rate, it sits right in-between Sentinel's other two coilguns.
Typical tactics for the application of these weapons against Sentinel's frequently melee-happy enemies is to simply reverse continuously and shoot, a strategy inexplicably referred to by Simon as a, "Kaufman retrograde". There are many fellow practitioners who would be quick to dismiss Simon as cowardly on this basis, but when the chips truly come down he fights with just as much spirit as anyone else, and is in fact merely pragmatic to a fault. Or as he put it, "Yeah, I brought a tank to a fist fight. Why wouldn't I bring a tank to what almost everyone else seems to have arbitrarily decided needs to be a fist-fight!?"
Continuous track locomotion: As previously described, Sentinel is able to transform between an ordinary tank mode and a "walking" mode, utilizing a limited transformation capability. The former is by far the smoother and more practiced of the two, but the latter does at least allow the Stand not to completely embarrass itself when faced with a simple ladder. "You might be wondering, by the way, how I managed to get rubber caterpillar tracks for Sentinel when he can only manipulate metal. Well, look closer. See? Dry-pin tracks... didn't need any rubber..."
Weapon: Simon's only weapon is his sharp mind, which is continually analysing the battle and coming up with new tactics for Sentinel to employ.
Personality and Bio: Initially born in Australia, Simon moved to Japan both for a better education and due to becoming enamoured by the culture. He never lost a certain patriotic spirit, however, and whilst he might not sound like Crocodile Dundee, he might very well love the sunburnt country as much as that character did. In terms of how he carries himself, he is very cheerful, but tends to forget himself, frequently singing or spouting off irrelevant trivia regardless of how appropriate it might be. In many ways he is the prototypical geek, albeit with the caveat that he is a lot more happy-go-lucky and enthusiastic than that archetype typically implies. Despite his awkwardness, however, he is a good spirit at heart, and genuinely wants to help out wherever he can. "I'm looking to build a better future first and shoot bad guys in the face second", he has been quoted as saying. Calm in battle (why shouldn't he be when he has a tank to hide behind?), Simon feels quite confident there is no obstacle that cannot be overcome if only he can put his mind to it... usually, anyway...
Stats:
Destructive power: B
Speed: E
Range: D
Durability: B
Precision: B
Sentinel is powerful and indefatigable, but sluggish, making it extremely vulnerable to fast fighters who can exploit gaps in the Stand's defences more rapidly than Sentinel can react. Any enemy that chooses (or its forced by their own slow speed) to face the might of Sentinel's coilguns, however, will usually find itself either outgunned or outlasted, if not both... As the battle progresses, Simon, almost always found hiding just behind his Stand's engine deck, will continually advise Sentinel on how best to approach the battle. The pair are rarely separated, as Simon knows full-well how vulnerable he is, even relative to the other humans with stands.
What is courage?: "Being scared, but doing what needs to be done anyway. Oh, and also to become one with fear itself... I guess... if you like that sort of thing..."
