  • Appearance: Something I knocked up in STO.
  • Name: Edith Achterberg
  • Rank: Lieutenant
  • Position: Chief Tactical Officer
  • Species: Human
  • Age: 24
  • Special Skills: Aside from the skills needed for a tactical officer, Edith is well versed in combat. She's a pretty good shot with a phaser, and has taken classes in various martial arts; whilst a few of these are unarmed, she is particularly proud of her skill with the bat'leth. Even without a translator, she is perfectly fluent in Klingon, even if her accent and pronounciation can be a bit off at times.

Background: Born in New Springs California, James was the only son of Mr. and Mrs. Moorcroft members of the federation themselves which gave James the knowledge and desire to follow his parents footsteps. His parents didn’t push him towards Starfleet, in fact they tried to push him in other directions but he persisted in joining Starfleet. His academic venture wasn’t all that impressive as far as action like some flamboyant officers but it was filled with personal goal achievements which gave him the wanting urge to become one of Starfleet’s best officers. His four years in the academy was probably the most intellectual and rewarding time in his life.

James first assignment was aboard the Constellation class Bosmere as the first officer. His Captain, Chris Shane took him under his wing and showed him the in and outs of being a starfleet officer. Not only was Capt Shane is commanding office but became a very close friend. Many nights were filled with poker and chess matches that he lost more than won but it was the challenge that excited him.

The day that James will never forget was the day that they encountered the rogue Romulan ship Shizmer as it was attempting to strike the Federation outpost 23. This was the day that he lost not only his ship due to extreme damage but lost his captain as well. The battle was won under the command of James but in his eyes the federation lost that day.

His next assignment took him to the Romulan Border sector command starbase 241 where he command the Cheyenne Class heavy cruiser. His time on this ship was his most peaceful of his duties, however, being on the Romulan border brought past memories back to him in which brought a hardship upon the crew for he was always running drills preparing for a Romulan attack. The crew learned to respect these drills for there were a few stand off encounters with the Romulans, but due to his strong cunning and refusal to back down they ended with the Romulan pulling back.

With the Dominion war occurring James was reassigned to the Majestic Class battle cruiser Darkstar. A time that he wanted to forget. Many lives were lost in this war. His skill and the skill of his crew barely escaped with their lives. The constant battle and loss of life almost broke James, but thanks to some dear friends and strong consoling he managed to keep his wits about him. Now after twelve years commanding the Darkstar he is once again reassigned to a new ship. The Artemis

Name: Sophia Brandt
Rank: Lieutenant Commander
Position: Intelligence Liasion Officer
Species: Human (Genetically Enhanced)
Age: 28

Special Skills: Medical Doctor, Technical Wiz, Section 31 Agent, Antosian Cellular Metamorphosis.

Service Record

2373: Accepted to the Vulcan Science Academy.
2376: Graduated VSA's Medical School.
2376: Accepted to the Andorian War College.
2379: Graduated AWC's Space Warfare Program.
2379: Accepted to Starfleet Academy's Accelerated Commissioning Program.
2381: Graduated SFA's Advanced Tactical Training; commissioned in Starfleet with the rank of Lt. JG.
2381: Assigned to Starfleet Intelligence.
2381-83: Redacted. (Classified by Starfleet Command.)
2383: Assigned to the USS Artemis as Starfleet Intelligence Command's Liaison Officer.

Background:

The daughter of a former Terran Representative to the Federation Council and a former Station Director of the Federation Investigation Bureau, the expectations for little Sophia Brandt's future were largely unrealistic from the start. Her young life was relatively harsh and unforgiving; subject to a strict mental and physical training regiment that even most Vulcan children would find unrealistic. No matter how hard her parents pushed, little Sophia remained an average human child of average pursuits and below-average intelligence. Whether it was their ego, or simply their fanatical will, the Brandts would not allow their only child to be average...and for her to be below average was simply unthinkable.

Their answer came in a dangerous operation, illegal within Federation borders; gene resequencing therapy. Though the procedure would almost result in Sophia's death, and a medical coma of nearly a year, the Brandts never once waivered from the course they had selected. Should Sophia die, the Brandts reasoned, they were still young enough to have another child. But Sophia survived, and very quickly after waking proved to be everything her parents initially dreamed of in a child, and much more...unfortunately for Mr. and Mrs. Brandt.

At age sixteen, the Brandts lost control of their daughter when Sophia uncovered her parents illegal gamble with their daughter's life. Feeling betrayed and unaccepted by the only people in the universe that she felt should love her despite any shortcomings, Sophia rebelled against the carefully laid out plans for her future that the Brandts had put into place over years. When they threatened to cut her off, or worse, Sophia answered her parent's cold ruthlessness in kind: she laid out the evidence of their crimes she had gathered over time, and threatened to expose them should they ever tamper in her life again. Age sixteen was the last time Sophia Brandt had any contact with her parents, leaving home and never looking back.

Her first two years were spent in San Fransisco, a place she had never spent much time before. There she absorbed all she could of various cultures and species, eventually befriending a Vulcan diplomat much older than she that would become a mentor, and see her delivered to the Vulcan Science Academy where she could begin her education properly. At the VSA Sophia would excel, just as she would at her next stop, the Andorian War College, and her stop after that; Starfleet Academy. She was fast-tracked through the Academy even more than most, given her training at the Vulcan Science Academy and Andorian War College (two famous Federation learning institutes that pre-date the Federation itself).

Sophia did not only attract the attention of Instructors and Academy Staff, but Starfleet personnel outside the Academy. Half way through her first year, Sophia was confronted by a man dressed as a Starfleet Captain that called himself "Sloan", revealing himself a double agent working for the Tal'Shiar. The man knew of Sophia's past, of her parent's crimes, but was willing to wipe all the records and keep her from any potential prosecution should she join the Tal'Shiar as an agent for Romulus. Not only did Sophia decline to betray the Federation, but her super-charged mind quickly worked out the entire thing was a ruse. Desperate, "Sloan" dropped the show, allowing Sophia to wake up and find herself strapped to a biobed in an unknown location. Then he introduced himself as a senior operative for the clandestine intelligence agency Section 31. The ruse was set up to test Sophia's loyalty, and she had proved that (and her cunning) in spades. Then "Sloan" gave her two options: join Section 31, or die.

Sophia choose life. For the rest of her time at the Academy, Sophia Brandt would go through her Academy training by day, and her Section 31 training by night. After graduation, Section 31 arranged for Sophia's assignment to Starfleet Intelligence's Black Ops units, highlighted by her service as a "Marauder"--Black Ops Starfleet agents masquerading as smugglers and pirates in order to complete missions critical to restrengthening the Federation after the Dominion War, missions that simply could not be carried out by regular Starfleet personnel given the very deceitful and violent nature of their objectives.

Having proven herself to both Starfleet Intelligence Command, and the leadership of Section 31, Sophia was selected to become the Liaison Officer between Starfleet Intelligence Command and the newest ship assigned to SFI's "Phantom Fleet"—the Sovereign class USS Artemis. Though it's unusual for such Liaison Officers to be active on a starship temporarily assigned to Starfleet Intelligence such as the Artemis, Starfleet Intelligence Command and Starfleet Command have made it very clear that Commander Brandt isn't going anywhere for now.

The reason? Clear as mud, as no one will give the Artemis or the ship's CO a clear reason for the Liaison Officer being attached to newly built Sovereign starship. And Sophia, herself, only offers a mysterious smile when directly asked about it, and says, "I wasn't told the reasoning, either." Whether it's the truth, or a lie, remains to be seen.

Mok'Rogak stands 77" tall and weighs 275 Lbs. He has several scars about his head and body from years of fighting for the Klingon Defense Force or training with weapons, primarily the Bat'leth. Mok'Rogak walks with a decided swagger, acquired from confidence and pride in his own abilities as a seasoned warrior.

Name: Mok'Rogak
Rank: Chief Petty Officer (formerly Klingon Sergeant)
Position: Security (formerly Klingon Marines)
Species: Klingon
Age: 34

Background: Chief Mok'Rogak was born on Qo'noS (Kronos) to a family of Klingon warriors in 2348. It was his destiny to serve the Klingon warrior as such. No one in the family ever had the mental capacity serve as an officer; a long line of warriors. When not learning basic educational skills in school, Mok'Rogak learned the ways of the Warrior. He excelled at the Bat'leth, hand to hand combat and enjoyed target practice with the rifle.

When Mok'Rogak was old enough, he enlisted in the Klingon Defense Force as a Marine. Upon completion of Basic Combat Training (BCT) and Advanced Combat Training as a Marine, he was assigned to the IKS Pagh serving under Captain Kargon. He saw his first human when Commander William Riker entered an exchange program, serving as First Officer briefly in 2365. This experience with Commander Riker taught Mok'Rogak respect for the humans. He knew much of the rumors circulating about Federation crew and officers were false. They were competent warriors. Respect.

In 2368 during the Klingon Civil War, the IKS Pagh saw action at the Battle of Mempa. During a boarding operation, Mok'Rogak killed a Duras supporter, which he celebrated as his first kill in battle. It was a glorious moment for the 20-year old Klingon Bekk Warrior. This event strengthened his confidence, pride and arrogance. He had finally become a true Warrior. His mother and father were proud of him.

Between 2369 and 2372, Mok'Rogak made an annual pilgrimage to the Bat'Leth competitions. This was a weapon he had been training with for all of his childhood and he carried this training into his adulthood. In two of those four years, he won first place, receiving the coveted Standing Champion award. He displays these in his quarters on every assignment, inlcuding today in Starfleet. Most non-Klingons have no idea what they are. They appear as artful decorations. It was during this time, the Pagh spent time at Deep Space: 9, Bekk Mok'Rogak learned earth language.

While assigned to the IKS Pagh Mok'Rogak saw action on Torros III. He participated in several boarding party operations with the Jem'Hadar. Mok'Rogak increased his body count severely during these campaigns. He even had the opportunity to participate in several small unit actions on the surface.

During the Monac Shipyard raids, Mok'Rogak's Marine squad came under heavy fire. They were seriously outnumbered, overwhelmed by the Jem'Hadar. The enemy laid siege to the Klingon position for 37 hours. When the fighting had ended, only three of the original 35 Klingons remained alive. Mok'Rogak was one of them. No fewer than 350 Jem'Hadar bodies were scattered about the Klingon position. Mok'Rogak was revered as a Hero of the Empire and promoted to Sergeant. He was badly injured, spending a few months recovering in a hospital.

When he recovered from his injuries, he was assigned to the IKS Kov'el, a Vor'cha class warship. This is where met Bekk Korvel, a young newly minted Marine. He had no impression of her yet, but would remember her years later. Mok'Rogak was with the Kov'el only a brief time, when it was destroyed during combat actions near Cardassia prime.

He was re-assigned to the Negh'Var-class Starship Navik and saw limited action on the surface of Cardassia. The conflict was concluded prior to their engagement with the enemy. Mok'Rogak's unit was returned to the Navik unbloodied and frustrated. Sergeant Mok'Rogak's temper got the better of him after not fighting on Cardassia and he was involuntarily discharged from the KDF with a loss of honor.

Not long after this and remembering his encounters with Starfleet, he sought out enlistment there. Since he understood the language, he recalled his experience with Commander Riker aboard the Pagh. He assumed all humans were equally warriors. He was in for a rude awakening.

In 2376 while in Star Fleet training he resolved to restrain his normal Klingon impulses and observe the human way of doing things. He adapted, learning their customs quickly. He even learned patience and understanding, which were contrary to his more aggressive emotional impulses.

In 2382, when Chief Mok'Rogak was assigned as Security Chief aboard the USS Artemis and met Ensign Korvel, it wouldn't be until after they'd had a conversation they recalled their earlier encounter aboard the IKS Kov'el. Mok'Rogak would not recognize her until after she brought the subject up. It was seven years ago and far from the Klingon Chief's memory.

Appearance (Picture coming as soon as I can get back on STO xD)

Name: Korvel
Rank: Bekk((Klingon Rank)) Ensign((Starfleet Rank))
Position: Ground Troop ((Klingon position)) Security officer ((Starfleet position))
Species: Klingon
Age: 25

Special Skills: Above average shot with a disruptor rifle. Very talented with melee weapons with the exception of a Bat'leth since she is more used to fighting with one handed weapons such as Mek'leths and d'k tahgs. Has been trained in ship to ship combat on Klingon vessels.

Service Record
* Joined the Klingon Defense Forces at the age of Eighteen
* Completed required KDF classes and was assigned to the Vor'cha class vessel IKS Kov'el as a ground troop.
* Fought in the Dominion War in numerous campaigns until the Kov'el was destroyed at the second battle of Chin'toka. Was rescued by a Federation starship.
* Re-assigned to the Negh'Var class battle cruiser IKS Sok'ir until the War ended. Was decorated several times over for acts of courage and valor during the last month of the war.
* Unknown incident occurred between Korvel and the Chief operations officer aboard the Sok'ir which resulted in her being dismissed from the KDF and forbidden to serve on a Defense Force vessel again.
*Joined Starfleet academy and completed tactical ground training courses along with ship to ship combat courses.
*Assigned to USS Artemis as a security officer.

Background: Korvel was born to the House of Dreos which despite not being the most influential house in the Klingon Empire was seen as a house which had always served the Empire and the Defense Force in general to the best of it's ability and was recognized for this. When the Dominion war erupted, the members of the House of Dreos were among the first to fight against the Dominion forces. Korvel served as a ground troop while aboard the Kov'el and at one point was able to capture a Vorta during a ground battle against Dominion forces in the Mempa sector. Unfortunately, when the Vorta realized what Klingon torture entailed, he managed to commit suicide rather then suffer.

Korvel fought in many more battles and received a number of commendations near the end of the war after killing several Jem'hadar and a small number of Breen when they boarded the Sok'ir during a battle in Cardassian space. She was among the forces who managed to take back the bridge after it was captured and was able to destroy the Breen vessel that had attacked the Sok'ir.

After the War finally ended, She found herself to be the last member of her house as the rest had died in battle against the Dominion forces. Korvel continued to serve aboard the Sok'ir until an incident occurred between her and the Chief Operations officer that resulted in her being thrown out of the KDF, her house being disbanded and the lands of her house being taken away and being forbidden to serve on a Defense Force vessel ever again under threat of death. Not seeing many remaining options, she joined Starfleet academy and quickly rose through the ranks in the tactical departments due to knowledge she had gained in the KDF before her exile from the KFD.
