@Ruki I think i kinda know what you're asking. They were brainwashed into thinking (at least, those that didnt have their brains removed entirely) that they were basically a machine made for doing one thing and one thing only, their career. For the most part, as an angel, their true conscious mind sat back and observed everything without any sort of emotion, like a robot, while their new mechanical halves made them functional, able to stay alive while mindlessly catering to the career they're placed in and have been brainwashed into doing without a fight.
Now that their conciousness is back, its not about how the 'cyborgels' see themselves, but how the
angels that have awoken from their mental slumber see what has been done to them. Of course, everything right now is in bits and pieces. They don't even remember being something as ethereal as an angel, but they know something is definetly wrong. They still know how to use their mechanical implants, at this point it's practically muscle memory; but its a very strangled and drowned case of 'who am I?'
