WARNING: If you're expecting a serious fight then turn away now. This battle is completely for fun and may or may not have your characters suffer a super ridiculous death. Come in here with a sense of humor and you should be fine.
(This music plays for dramatic effect for the riveting backstory)
Angels and Demons have been at war for as long as anyone can remember. It was then that a great demon lord known as Zuubassballe remembered that he left his oven on and couldn't really spend thousands of years fighting or else his kitchen would catch on fire and he wasn't the fire kind of demon so that would be bad. So that being said he managed to convince the Angels and Demons to stop their normal way of fighting and invent a new game named after him, called Baseball, that would be used to settle matters instead in a single evening. Both Angels and Demons could recruit outsiders to play for them, be it cyborgs, really muscular butterflies, pirates with laser swords, King Arthur, Cthulhu, Goku, Godzilla, etc. This takes place in a multiverse where all universes exist from different media and also original characters and settings of our own. A planet was made specifically for the upcoming match to contain all of the awesome destructiveness that would surely follow and a special field of gooblygook plot device thing that allowed weaker competitors to fight evenly with some of the greats (patent pending, don't ask how it works).
It's not like how baseball later evolved, but instead is really chaotic with limited rules. On a team's turn they have someone up to bat (could be anyone), and if they hit the ball then they must run around all of the bases back to home base to score a point. However, if they get killed or hit with the ball while they're not touching a base then that's considered a strike out and they no longer play for that round (or forever depending on damages). They cannot be killed while touching a base, which is their safe zones that magically shields them from attacks other than the ball. They have three chances to try and hit the ball and if they don't all three times then that's a strike out as well. Both teams can only try to kill each other when the ball is in play and rounds are often settled in quick strikes where defenders try to stop attacks from reaching the batter trying to run around the bases. There will be 9 players on each team out on the field at one time. Both sides can call in air strikes, asteroid impacts, etc. as well. Once a team goes through three strike outs then the round switches to the other team. This goes on for 5 rounds to decide the winner by who had the most points and every 5 kills also counts as a point.
So...that's about it! Each person can have one player on both teams at once and if they die they can get replacements from the bench on the next play. Expect players to be able to die from single attacks or else the game would never end. This is supposed to be fast paced with crazy attacks or else a battle of this style wouldn't work out very well. When you come in with a character, don't bother waiting for a reply on some character sheet. Just jump on in and have the start of that post being the announcer giving us all a basic introduction about them. Who goes up to bat will be based on a first come first serve thing as well as being the one to pitch on the opposing team, although you can only choose one or pass up on both if you desire. Anyone not controlled by a player is assumed to be an NPC Angel or Demon unless you jump in the spot with a character, then it could have been them all along. Alright, now with all that out of the way...
...LET'S GET READY TO RUMBLE!!!
