The year is 1899, the turn of the century is upon us and the world could not be in a worse state for it. Industry, thought to usher in a new age of wealth and expansion for all, has left the huddled masses in a state of poverty, whilst their employers feast on the fruits of their labour. Alongside the rapid industrialisation, there has also been much in the innovation and invention of new goods, chemicals are now being made in factories and shipped across the world for peoples use. Now of course Liberalism is by no means dead however it’s former allure is gone, many governments made the change to a democratic system however many more have kept, or reverted, to the old autocratic styles of years gone by. Great powers and empires are reaching a bulking mass now as the final rush for free colonial provinces comes to an end. Whilst many nations have sprung up in these free lands, many more have been squashed and replaced with friendly puppet states. Of course with this sudden drop in the amount of free land, many of the powers grow restless and seek to expand their borders in other ways. In all the commotion the world has become quite the powder keg, requiring only the smallest spark to ignite what could be a war to end all wars.

So this will be a NRP set in the turn of the 20th century. Tech level will be historically accurate to a point, I don’t want wiki-fight going on with me or others, and this will have a ‘Great War’ of sorts. Sooo go out, expand you empire, grow your military and make other countries hate you. I don’t want anyone being a Switzerland in this, though I don’t mind having people miss out/join late the first Great War as if this is successful, it will continue to the Second Great War.

Anyways, for some actual RP mechanics now. Anyone who has RPed in one of mine before knows I use traits as a way to balance nations. I will be doing so here as well and people will be given their troop numbers, economic strength and populations HOWEVER all the locations and cultures and politics you will decide on yourself. Plus I will then create certain events requiring you too react. I don’t want people using their armies straight away, let me see some back and forth and some sanctions before you steam roll a minor power over.

This sounds like something I want to be apart of.

Well I am going to create a whole new world etc. so creating new nations would almost certainly be mandatory. I don't mind some inspiration from certain nations but I don't want to see a 'German Empire' copied and pasted. Actually, good question, since I wasn't clear to you that it will be a different world :) The tme and date etc. is just to give people a basis for tech and because I want it to be WW1-esque.

I fancy doing a British-like island nation kind of thing, but not the foremost world power as Britain was at the time.

It's more the merit of Gowia being so veteran and Precipice an old dog that prior to the title change he did not know there already was an RP by the same name. This seems like a very major lapse of reason on his part, and not because of a perception of self importance and my part or that of others.

Just because I have been around a while, and your RP has been going a while, doesn't mean I would have any knowledge of it. I have lived in the same town for 18 years, according to your logic I should know the name of every single road in said town because I am near them. And yet I don't! I'm going to be honest with you. Yes it looks bad, but just because two people had a similar idea does not mean that someone copied it. Setting a game in a custom made setting based around the first world war is an awesome, solid idea and the fact that you both thought of it goes a long way to saying that you both have similar tastes in style.

The only reason I'm joining up with this game is because I've played with Gowia before and he decided to send me a PM.

But... They're not even close to being the same. The only thing you could even start to say is similar is the setting. If you want to argue on that basis, then there should only ever be about six or so NRPs active at a time, since to make a new Sci-Fi NRP would be copying the existing one.
