Wealth, fame, power... Gold Roger, the King of the Pirates obtained this and everything else the world had to offer. And his dying words drove countless souls to seas.

'You want my treasure? You can have it! I left everything I gathered together in one place! Now you just have to find it!'


These words lured men to the Grand Line in pursuit of dreams greater than they've ever dared to imagine! This is the time known as 'The Great Pirate Era'!

In this time known as the Great Pirate Era, several things have ocurred. Countless pirates fight over the treasure known as One Piece, and the Navy goes through great efforts to see those same people imprisoned. People have been named Emperors, Warlords and whatnot, and even then, people still search for the one and only One Piece inside the Grand Line. Veterans and rookies alike, all of them have gone into the Grand Line to search for that great treasure. All of them are impressive in their own right, but what has impressed the Navy the most are the super rookies suddenly appearing all over the world. They are becoming more and more of a threat as time goes on and they become stronger.

This is the story of a certain group of Marines, in the pursuit of an infamous group of pirates. What will they encounter as they travel through the seas?!





All right! I just started One Piece a while ago (I'm still at episode 400-something, though), and I've just been CRAVING a One Piece RP. Even so, though, people often tend to forget these easily, so I'd like this to be a small group RP with some dedicated people that won't drop out in a long time, at least, not drop out before things get interesting. Then again, people seem to come to these kinds of RP's like flies, so that was a short lived dream. xD Still, the RP will follow as long as there are even if a few dedicated people. However, this particular interest check is to see if anyone would like to be part of the Marine group that will continually be at odds with the pirate crew composed by me and some other players. These marines may be enemies or rivals helping each other depending on the situation, so take that into account!

This RP is set in a One Piece AU with none of the original characters in here. Meaning.....! Yes, you can have any Devil Fruit you want! As long as it isn't too OP, that is. Like the Yami Yami No Mi, or the Pika Pika no Mi, or shite like that. Even so, Logia fruits are currently banned. Oh, and also, original Devil Fruits! Yes, you can make your own Devil Fruit! As long as it has reasonable weaknesses and all.

As the rivals of our own pirate crew, you also have some roles to fill out to man your ship.

Also, having a role like those does not necessarily mean that you cannot fight too. You can also double in characters if you want, we may need to do so in the end, though. I will choose the captain of this marine crew afteer seeing all the characters too, so we can be fair.

Name: Zagerus

Appearance: Zagerus is a little shorter than most people standing at a reasonable 5,7. His eyes are a tranquil blue color, at least until he gets fired up in which case they turn blood red. He wears a long black cloak that conceals his whole body and regularly keeps the hood up obscuring his face. His skin is surprisingly pale due to all the time he spends under his cloak. Zagerus's face gives off a somewhat refined look especially when he is wearing his glasses, which he takes off when he starts taking a battle seriously. Underneath his cloak he wears layers upon layers of knives serving as both his protection and his weaponry

Abilities & Skills: Zagerus is a very skilled fighter with plenty of experience. Zagerus fights with what he calls his infinite blade style, while not infinite he can use on overwhelming amount. Zagerus keep racks and racks of knives on his person stored in every conceivable place. He fights using an extraordinary amount of speed and proficiency with his weaponry to overwhelm his foes. He carries two ballistic knives that he uses easily reloading while fighting as well as wires that he uses to pull off ridiculous tricks. Zagerus relies on his speed and acrobatic skill to avoid attacks and bleed his opponents or strike at an opportune moment.

Equipment: Knives, many many knives. Two Ballistic knives. Wires. Carries smoke bombs for just in case, even a man with his ego is prepared for emergencies.

Devil Fruit: None

Personality: Zagerus can be easily described as confident. Perhaps a weak word, but not inaccurate. Zagerus believes in his own skills and is disdainful of anyone who doesn't share his confidence. Zagerus upon finding a strong opponent can find himself falling under the effects of battle lust. While overly confident in his combat abilities Zagerus in all other respects is a well mannered individual. Quite gentlemen in fact until his skills are called into question or he becomes engaged in a good fight. He doesn't believe in any sort of greater justice, as far as he's concered whoever wins is the one who was right in the end.

Biography: Zagerus was born into a rich and privileged family. Somewhat spoiled as a child he was raised as apporiate to one of his social standing. However he always did have a strange fascination with knives, always playing with them. First it was playing with bugs slow dissections. Then it got worse, playing with small animals. Eventually in his middle teenage years he got into a fight with another boy. The result was fatal; Zagerus was very experienced with his knife and ending up slitting the other boy’s throat. Being from such a rich family and noble family he wasn't sentenced for life or executed on a singular condition. That he would join the marines. Thinking that this was naturally a better option he accepted and dropped his last name.

After a rough beginning where his aristocratic nature showed through his lack of physical abilities and no small amount of bullying from other ensigns. He found himself surprisingly well suited to the role. After bringing his physical abilities up to snuff he found that his skill with a knife was rather exceptional. Zagerus took to the role like a fish to water quickly advancing his skill in leaps and bounds developing a moniker for himself as the man with the knives. Zagerus was initially given a land-based assignment watching over his home, Orange Town. However he quickly bored of this and used the influence he still had to get promoted to petty officer and moved to a more active role.

Would it be possible to apply as a Junior Officer/New Recruit kind of position? Something similar to what Coby becomes in his second appearance? Also as far as fighting style/abilities go I was thinking of using the Rokushiki techniques, but I don't know how widespread they are outside of CP9 (Coby uses Soru, I think?) so would that be possible--maybe starting with just one and learning more over time?

Just let me know if anything needs to be changed, here's the first draft of my character.

Appearance: Standing at 5'10" but with broad shoulders and still-growing muscle, Seiji's a young man right in the middle of his growing phase. His black hair is cut short and parted in the front, slight bangs framing his face. His eyes are a gray-blue hue that reminds one of polished steel. He wears a long sleeved black shirt under the traditional short sleeved white jacket of the Marines, which is left unbuttoned at the front and the blue neckerchief is instead tied around his right bicep. His Marine cap is turned backwards on his head most of the time, unless he needs to block something from getting in his eyes. Instead of full length pants he wears shorts hemmed slightly below the knee, and his black boots are only half-shin high. At first glance, a seemingly undisciplined recruit--but his personality and actions leave no doubt as to his passion.

Role: Junior Officer - After completing basic training and a few simple assignments, low ranked Marines would of course need to learn from a real crew. Thus, Seiji has been assigned to his current crew with the intent of continuing his training and putting him to work in the field.

Abilities & Skills:
Fighting Style - Seiji's fighting style incorporates basic Marine-style martial arts, a few tidbits of other styles taught on his home island, and a brawling disposition. He is best described as an "in-fighter," closing his distance with an opponent before planting his feet and slugging it out.

Rokushiki - A style of martial arts consisting of superhuman training and techniques, normally taught only to CP9 or higher ranking Marines. Seiji learned a small amount of it from his grandfather, but currently is only capable of performing one of the six techniques.
1) Tekkai: Hardens the users' muscles to the level of iron, in order to nullify damage taken from attacks. However, it can be broken by strong enough forces. It can also be used to increase the power of an attack, but because it makes the user incapable of moving, they have to use Tekkai after they have already begun their movement, thus fully commiting to that action.

Equipment: None

Personality: Seiji is devoted to the idea of being "a true Hero," and thus seeks to do good to the best of his ability. He tries to be nice even to people he doesn't like, but has little mercy for those he sees as "true Evil." However, to be considered truly evil in Seiji's eyes is a rare thing. He is still young and naive about the ways of the world, and believes that people can change if given the chance. He is also a stickler for "the Law," and seeks to punish anyone who breaks it with a fair and equal sentence. But the surest way to invoke his rage is to have him catch you breaking the law red-handed. At that point, no court, trial, or jury is necessary; Seiji will become "Justice" himself.

While not fond of the idea of hurting people for no reason, Seiji is also eager to test himself and improve his skills, and thus he is fond of fighting and other physical tests of strength and ability. He is also a hard worker, eagerly training on his own and jumping to almost any task given by a superior.

Biography: Seiji's grandfather, Gintarou Shirogane, was once a Vice Admiral of the Marines known as the "Platinum Fist." Said to embody the true essence of what it meant to be a Marine, he defeated and captured not only pirates, but all sorts of criminals, and the sea routes his ship patrolled were known as safe waters even in the vicious territories of the Grand Line. However, when his own son (later to be Seiji's father) expressed wanting to enlist in the Marines, Gintarou expressly forbade him from doing so for unknown reasons. In his old age Gintarou retired to his home on Karate Island in the South Blue, and spent more time with his family, especially doting on his grandson. Yet Seiji, too, when he became older desired to emulate his grandfather and join the Marines. Again Gintarou forbid it...but Seiji had inheirited his iron will, and would not be swayed from "the path of Justice."

Eventually Gintarou gave in, and told Seiji that if he could defeat all the different dojos on Karate Island, that he would train him to become a Marine. Though it took a whole year--no, that is to say, it somehow only took a year--Seiji accomplished the task. He'd been beaten to a pulp many times along the way, but quoted his grandfather's old saying:

"To be a Marine is to have an iron will, an iron fist, and an iron heart."

Some time after that Seiji entered the ranks of the Marines, and through a combination of hard training and catching the eyes of superior officers as a descendant of the "Platinum Fist," was promoted from a recruit to Seaman First Class. Soon after, he was assigned to a crew, and set out to sea...

Abilities & Skills: As required of her duties as the vessel's quartermaster, Philippa is a highly skilled multitasker, capable of dealing with numerous situations that engage her without suffering too much detriment. She possesses an instinctual familiarity with all aspects of her occupation, whether they be watchkeeping, preparing charts and publications, maintaining naval instruments, managing and training crew members, or taking the helm; aspects that she can perform incredibly well. Indeed, with her sharp mind, good eyesight and knack for dealing with people, she is quite prodigious in the role, and is also a fountain of knowledge from to time, as her interests in whatever publication comes her way has provided her with a large breadth of information.

Combatwise she is not too shabby either, always switching up her fighting style in order to find the most advantageous manner to deal with opponents (whether it be 'honourable' or not). Philippa frequently makes use of the environment, and is skilled at identifying the tactics employed by enemies, though her knowledge of their special techniques can be somewhat sparse at times (she is a woman of breadth, not depth, after all).   • Bag of Earbuds: The rings of ship cannons are quite loud, and she does not wish to lose her hearing at such a young age.

Personality: "A dedicated little worker bee" in the words of certain colleagues, the woman known as Philippa enjoys her work. She enjoys the activity, allowing the hamster wheels in her brain to rapidly spin as she partakes in as much work as possible. Being proactive is something she is truly fond of, especially if everything she does is done efficiently and to a highly sufficient standard. As such, she is always willing to give a helping hand, zealously tackling problems that afflict both her and her colleagues no matter how difficult it can be. There is not a moment that Philippa can be found not doing something; there is a great amount of energy in her, and it is not simply constrained by all the work that piles up on her desk.

Indeed, it is due to her exuberance and energeticness that Philippa has turned out to be quite a serial hobbyist, frequently engaging in something new and exciting for a week or two before moving onto a completely different activity. However, she will always remember what she has learned from these temporary forays, and will gladly part with information and share her exploits with those who wish to listen. As of present, she may have tried over a hundred different new things, and will likely continue to partake in new hobbies in the future.

When interacting with others, Philippa is a calm and collected woman, a surprise to those who expect her energy to translate into a more gregarious and loud demeanour. She is honestly a rather pleasant person, though there is a certain dispassionate aura that surrounds her from time to time. She can also be a bit teasing and mocking, and sometimes delves into a persona of an arrogant noblewoman (her family tree does have a noble bastard somewhere up top) in order to maximise the effects and possibly boost her ego at the same time. Still, those who meet her will testify to her kindliness (and caution others of the way she can easily rile people up if she wants to). She is also a fan of philosophical discussions, riddles and conversations upon the nature of romance.

Biography: The fifth child of a family of smiths on Navarre Island, Philippa never really had any familial obligations unlike her older siblings, content to spend her days learning new things, helping out at the forge from time to time and fishing. It was a pleasant, but ultimately purposeless life that she had been born into, and soon she began wishing for a way out of her rut. She was not interested in the family business, nor did she see fishing as more than a simple hobby, so she took to the streets of her town, searching for whatever odd job that caught her fancy. Yet something seemed to excite her, and sometimes as soon as she committed herself to something, she would give up, once again a floater upon the winds of fate.

One day while working as a waitress, she would by chance strike up a conversation with a crew of marines that had come ashore for the week. The discussion had fascinated her, especially upon learning of everything that awaited upon the high seas. The boredom of the island had been close to consuming her, and upon realising that the World Government's Navy would allow her so many opportunities to see the world, she immediately quit her job, returning home to plead for her parents' approval. Though originally hesitant, Philippa's tenacity soon convinced them, and she immediately set off for the nearest recruitment centre to sign up.

She would, after surviving training, rise up the ranks rather quickly for enlisted personnel, becoming known as a competent quartermaster on a certain vessel. Having experienced numerous situations throughout her tours of duty, Philippa now continues to serve as an agent of order in the Marines, knowing that despite the flaws she has witnessed in the organisation, order was paramount before true justice could be established.
