Ricky - Old Jefferson, Suburbs - Chae, Miguel, Moksha

Ricky was a bit confused when his saviour reminisced about a pack of corgis attacking her, but the woman showed off a scar to prove it, and he nodded appreciatively. It looked freshly healed though, which meant they'd gotten here from Florida with some kind of haste. Then again, there were a lot of ways to get places that didn't mean he'd get any benefit from it. He gave up on that notion and chuckled as the woman suggested that only the big dogs survived. That wasn't according to the nature documentary he had watched a while ago. Then again, that documentary hadn't been based on actual experiences, only extrapolation based on facts they had available. And the discovery channel couldn't possibly calculate zombies into the mix. So rather than argue the point, he focused on getting to his feet slowly, and without being too threatening.

before he could, though, he was invited to join them, and introduced to his real saviour, Moksha, the kitten. He smiled at the tiny beast as it was suggested that it probably didn't actually care to save him. Either way, he was still alive, and he was grateful. Then he found himself being interrupted before he could even open his mouth to speak. Having been about to try an introduction or something, he found the third human in their group was now vocal. It seemed the man that had been so impatient before, was now at his breaking point. And that was fair. After so many gunshots, any nearby zombies would be on top of them soon. And indeed, they were already in sight, working on swarming in that most unpleasant fashion they clung to.

Then the chef found himself being offered a hand up, and a question, he accepted the former as he rose to his feet, and nodded at the latter. "I took on six once. It was pretty good." he chuckled as a thought occurred to him, but he kept it to himself. "Oh fuck, there's a lot of them, eh?" he realized, taking a closer look at the horde that was working on descending on them. He popped open his revolver and made a face at the fact that it was nearly empty. He locked it back up and tucked it away in its holster, before drawing the larger of his two knives once more. "So what's the plan, Stan?" he asked, looking like he was ready to take on the entire shambling mass if it was necessary. And idea like that wasn't pleasant, but he figured it wouldn't be much different than one of those really bad hockey fights, where both teams just mob the ice and wail away on each other. Except he wouldn't have a team beside him...

Alex Clark - Cells - Danny & Co

Suddenly looking up as a reference to a famous show he used to binge-watch was named, Alex couldn't hide a crooked grin. Looking at himself from a distance, he realized he looked kind of crazy. Mostly crazy in fact. His previous self, the one living an ordinary life, would have been terrified of himself. Having hidden the arrowtip in his sleeve, his hands sticky from Richard's drying blood, and his face still covered in patches of his own dried blood from his broken nose... He really looked like some insane murderer. He was really frustrated about his nose though. It really did hurt a lot, and it was crooked. For some reason, that really bothered him. Nevertheless, as he inspected the guy, he realized that he was from Enrique's group of the Scouts. He didn't exactly know this guy by name, but he had seen him around a few times. Probably the same counted for the other guy.

"Yes of course. My idea is to rest and wait untill an opportunity presents itself to learn more about what's going on, and how to get away from this shithole." He replied on a faked knowledgeable tone. "In other words, I don't have a plan at all. How'd you end up here anyways? Weren't you with Enrique?" He was mostly suspicious of the guy since he was with Enrique, but he reckoned that if he was here, in a cell, it probably meant that both Enrique and their group ran into a bigger fish. Because of their situation, he could probably trust what the guy was saying. They were not enemies, for now. Nevertheless, given their original goal, saving that girl, Emma, it certainly complicated matters.

Chae, Miguel, Moksha - Old Jefferson, Suburbs - Ricky

"Plan...?" Chae mumbled, peering out through the ajar door to view the infected, shambling closer in their mini-horde by the second. Actions never happened in void. Saving this man from dog, using most of her bullets to do so, in fact, left them all vulnerable to a greater threat. The world had always been this way. She imagined her Halmonee would probably say something along those lines-- that the world was naught but a sea of ebb and flows in the mental, physical, and spiritual realms. That the only difference was that things were more extreme now, life and death danced more intimately and that the world required more of yourself to receive more of it now.

Chae's grandma was weird like that.

"Well those guys," She pointed to the groups of infected, clustered around the fence, shambling and pushing on their decomposing forms to squeeze at the potential meal that stood in the backdoor hallway of the suburban home, "we can probably hold them off for a few seconds by just, like, closing the door." She shrugged, "Not much of a plan, I know-- but they might get distracted by the dead bitches," This time gesturing to the few dogs she managed to shot during her daring rescue, "I think they're getting hungrier, less, you know, picky. I actually saw a couple eating a cat earlier... this little guy's mom, I think."

Closing the back doors, screen and all, she continued, "So I say we charge, now, before they can get to the front door. We push through in the streets, and then just, like, outmaneuver them." Already beginning to head to the front doors of the suburban home, she addressed both men, new found focus on their survival. "If we're going we gotta go now though." She tossed Miguel her gun, "You stay behind us, guns are security-- not for... zumba... or... whatever you call 'em... killing."

"Ummm..." She had to look up to address Ricky, the man had a good few inches on the woman, "That'd put you out front." cracking a smirk, she added, "I mean, I'm kind of assuming you're better at stabbing infected than rabid dogs, though..."

Ricky - Old Jefferson, Suburbs - Chae, Miguel, Moksha

It was clear, after only a second, that there was no plan. Chae, which seemed to be the woman's name, suggested they close the door, and that was accomplished easily enough. Then she suggested they charge out the front before the house got surrounded. Thinking that was better than anything he would come up with at this point, Ricky joined in happily. He shoved a chain under the door handle to make it harder for the zombies to get through before he followed his new friends toward the front. There he was instructed to lead the way. "Honestly, I'm better at stabbing gators than anything..." he offered with a shrug. "She'll do a good job, though..." he trailed off as he gripped his knife tighter. The smaller bowie knife on his hip stayed where it was. He wasn't used to fighting it with, so he decided he would be safest with his much larger toothpick.

And since no one seemed to have anything else to say, he opened the front door. There didn't seem to be as many undead out front, so he got himself as psyched up as possible and then nodded. "I'm going to lead, but you've got to navigate, eh?" he told the woman who'd be tucked in the middle of their little escape train. "If you don't, well... We'll get somewhere I guess..." he chuckled, thinking that "somewhere" might end up being the headwaters of a creek of faeces, where paddles were prohibited. Right now, though, that might be a better place to be than in the middle of a zombie swarm, so before second thoughts could grab anyone, he led the way, hoping someone one was following.

A solid overhand swing of his knife, on a sufficient angle, wouldn't take the head clean off a zombie, but it would sever the spinal cord, and that was all that mattered. The heavy blade of his knife seemed to bite cheerfully into the rotting flesh of the predators that tried to surround the trio. The chef focused on routes that took them past the fewest number of zombies, and the ones they did encounter he met head on, hacking into their spines and paralysing their reanimated bodies, causing them to collapse and gnash their teeth uselessly at the air, hoping to get a bite of the fleeing humans. Escape was tiring, at least for Ricky, but he knew the alternative was a horrid death, being bitten to pieces by monsters with hardly any teeth. That was motivating enough to give him unlimited energy...

Victor - Inside the Grocery Store. Walker, LA - Augusta & Malcolm

Victor paused, set down his stove, and drew a butcher knife from the special attachment on his leg. The hall was dark, so he also pulled a mag-light from his backpack. He held it in his left hand and hefted the knife in his right. A harsh click and light flooded up the stairwell, he started up the stairs leading the two teens to the roof. A lethargic Dead was munching on a bird, Victor didn't even pause, he took two large steps and drove the knife down in a perfect arc cleaving the Dead's head in half down to the base of the neck. The Dead fell to its knees and slightly sideways. Victor put his foot on it and pulled the knife with relative ease from the corpse.

Mandy - Walker, LA - June, Cricin, and Annie

Mandy, once back inside the store, glanced around noting that Victor and the others were no longer in sight. She knew if there was a serious problem June would be aware of it. Already the months of stress she had gathered were easing away with the presence of her best friend.

She looked back at the others. For a moment she looked at the two new comers a bit nervously, then she removed her back pack and a small portable white board from the bag. She wrote at the top "Names?" And showed it to them, holding out the pen for them.

Chae, Miguel, Moksha - Old Jefferson, Suburbs - Ricky

Placing a hand on his shoulder, Chae shuffled behind the man-- his Canadian accent failed to portray just how southern he truly was, she watched, a slight awe, as he hacked away at the infected corpses with an over sized knife, apparently intended for 'gators'. He possessed a fervor for the activity, she might never possess-- Miguel maybe-- but it edged too close to enjoyment for her tastes. Still, she could appreciate how soon the investment of saving the man's life was returned in kind, with interest. He didn't tire, even as the quartet were surrounded by the biting, hissing shells of people long past.

Chae, despite herself, was scared less by the physical threat they imposed, but more by the humanity she could see in each figure. They all were, more or less, like her at one point. And she'd probably end up like them sooner or later...

Possibly sooner, it seemed! Despite the man's knives and Miguel's brute force, the quartet was becoming surrounded!

"Veer right." Kicking away one of the infected as she spoke, Moksha bristled in he arms, "Look for a backyard with a fence-- the more of those we can hop the better."

Tina - Bar/Apartment - Abram/Sam

Tina hesitated, taking a moment to look up at the building's second floor where the apartment was. "... I don't know. They might want to go with me, or they might want to help. Adam will stay with Elyse, I know that. As for the other groups, well..." She sighed, rubbing at the back of her neck. "I don't really know. We keep to ourselves, mostly. I know there's a few people around the plaza nearby, and there should be a group a few blocks away... We all try to keep to ourselves around here."

That Abram wanted to go to New Orleans confused Tina, to say the least. She couldn't hold back her curious stare. "We can get gas, but... why head down that way?"

---

Tremblay - Furniture Store - Floyd/Jess

He didn't seem concerned about their silence, only choosing to stare back at them icily. A few people walked by, but one look from Tremblay kept them from prying into his business. After a few moments of silence, Tremblay eventually let out a deep breath and leaned forward. "Then I'll tell you both what I know instead. I'll tell you more than I should even tell you, because I believe you both can be allies of mine, and I desperately need allies right now." Crossing his arms, Tremblay's gaze lingered a moment on Benjamin. "I traveled to New Orleans a few months ago and ended up in a group with a woman named Myriah. The group was strong, but no one wanted to elect a true leader. I wanted to do it, but Myriah said we should just appoint a few people to lead in various tasks. We had our builders, our scouts, our farmers, our organizers... but no real leader. Myriah was one nice woman. Too nice. Everybody loved her, so eventually people just started to think of her as the leader, though it was a position I know she didn't want. A friend and I felt this group wasn't a good fit for us any longer, so we approached Myriah to stage, well..." Tremblay smiled, holding out his hands. "A mutiny. She agreed to the idea. We were supposed to just show everyone that Myriah wasn't fit to lead before we went on our own way, but my friend got overzealous and attempted to kill her for real. I couldn't stop him, so I left before I found out if he ever got to kill her."

Leaning back, Tremblay's mind swam in the old memories of that night. He'd learned since then that Myriah hadn't died that night, but she was dead now anyway, so Tremblay had to wonder what was the point in all of that. "I had no desire to go back, so I was on my own for a while. Got to know the city and its people. Got to know Tyler. Group of his almost killed me before I found a few friends to hang around with. Everyone seemed to know his raiders at the time, so it wasn't hard to find out more about him. Through... let's say, interrogation, I learned a bit too many disgusting things about the man. About his deals, his goings-on. Needless to say, he was not a man I wished to deal with any longer, so I took my friends and went North, to where we're sitting right now."

He gestured around himself now. "If you were both in New Orleans during Tyler's reign, you'll know exactly what I mean. His kidnappings, his fighting pit, his den of sin. All I need from you both is confirmation, maybe a story of your own, if you have one. It very well might lead to revenge, if you happen to desire it."

---

KK - Furniture Store Bedroom - Scarlett/Katie

"Your daughter," KK said, her voice laced with doubt. She looked Scarlett up and down, finding herself not impressed whether or not the claim was true. Tremblay had never said anything about the little girl having a mother. "She'll be looked at as soon as possible. Alison and Becca are both very busy with something at the moment, and it's requiring all of their attention. Just have the dear rest so that whatever is wrong doesn't get worse." She'd taken on a more motherly tone, but KK still looked a bit annoyed regardless. She took a seat in a chair in the corner of the room, eyes still on Scarlett.

"People around here call me KK. Is there anything I can get you? Food, something to drink...?" She peered at Scarlett, waiting for her to answer with something smart. KK was having her fill dealing with these petulant children.

Ricky worked tirelessly, his Eastern-Canadian background being little different than his Cajun background, save for the temperature he lived at in the winter. Either way, he had the spirit, mindset, and ability to do the sorts of things that might unnerve others. He justified it, thinking of the zombies like alligators who'd started hunting people. Anytime that happened, the waters swarmed with boats that bristled with guns until the the beast was killed. This time, though, the "gators" were winning. He just had to do his part. So he hacked up the monsters that assaulted him as quickly as he could, his Arkansas Toothpick tearing up any resistance.

Of course, there was only so much time a man could spend killing zombies before more of them started to swarm. Soon enough he had to reverse his grip, so he had the tip pointing down in his hand. From there, stabbing forward through the eye socket was a good change of pace for his flagging arm. Soon enough, as the crowd got thicker, he heard the call to "Veer right." it was time to do some fence hopping. So he picked his foot up, bringing his knee to his chest, and just like his father had taught him, he kicked the zombie in front of him like he was kicking down a door. And as he did it, he realized how wrong it could go. Thankfully, his foot met solid flesh, and the ghoul was shoved back into its compatriots, slowing the lot of them as he moved left. There was a fenced gate at the end of a driveway. A good start. He stabbed his way past another trio of undead to get to it, and then he hopped the waist-high barrier without a second thought.

Once in the backyard, he found it clear, and sighed with relief. This would be a good way to break the horde's tail. Unfortunately, their ideal route was blocked by an eight foot fence. He'd done this before, though, so he was moving before anyone had time to really come up with another plan. He planted his back against the wooden fence and held out his left hand as he dropped into the iron chair. "Left foot, right foot, jump." he offered in explanation, tapping his left thigh, and then his shoulder, followed by a gesture at the top of the wall. His companions would surely be able to escape over the wall like this. It was just a matter of getting over himself. He knew some airsoft warriors with the balance to perch on top of the fence, and the strength to haul him over, but he couldn't say these two looked anything like them.

Now wasn't the time to worry about that, though. Now was the time to get over the fence because the horde of zombies at the decorative gate out front was just about enough to topple the thing. He figured that sort of terror would add ten or so feet to his normal jump, so even being white wouldn't be a problem in this instance. It was just a matter of getting his new friends out of here before they lost their minds and did something silly...

Scarlett - Bar/Apartment - Liam

Scarlett had remained quiet as Abram and Tina planned out what the next move was. Abram already knew that anything he said, Sam would agree with, so she simply muttered that she was going to check up on Liam and left.

On her way up the stairs, Samantha had found the young boy. He was sitting on the top step of the stairs, probably thinking about this whole mess. "Hey buddy." The woman walked up and sat at the step right under his, placing a hand on his knee. "I'm sorry about what you've had to go through.... but I promise I will get Scarlett back. For the both of us. And the little girl.... Kaylie? Katie?" Samantha shrugged and looked down the steps, a million thoughts going through her mind all at once. She stayed quiet until something caught her attention. It was a knife sitting at the edge of the bar. "Hey Liam..... Scarlett left unarmed, correct?" She looked up at the boy once again and looked at him carefully, reading his face for any emotions or a reaction. "They'd be back at the hotel right?" She bit her lip as she thought about what to do. Scarlett would want her oversized blade back for sure, and it wouldn't hurt for them to have the supplies that they had while living in the hotel. Abram wouldn't agree to it, or be too happy about it, but Sam would do it either way. She had kept her voice low so the others wouldn't hear. "DO you think we could go back and check?"

____________________________________________________________

Scarlett - Furniture Store Bedroom - Katie/KK

Scarlett had quietly hushed Katie as she patted the little girls head. She tried to soothe her and calm her down so she'd be able to breathe easier. The little girls sobs filled Scarlett with anger. How could anyone hurt a child?! "We'll get daddy back." Her voice was quiet and calm as she spoke to Katie, but she could feel herself ready to snap. Unfortunately she was unarmed and outnumbered here. There were probably more people outside the room just in case.

Scarlett only looked up to KK when she finally revealed her name, the anger plain as day on her face. "I actually would like three things... Some water for Katie.... To speak to the cunt who took her father, and.... I'd also like the man named Matt to come here. Unarmed. He owes me something." Scarlett's voice was emotionless as she spoke to KK, letting her hear that she wasn't going to play games. "My name is Scarlett, by the way.... I suggest you go and get those things. If you can't get me Matt. At least relay a message to him. Tell him he owes me his life. I'm as done with this bullshit as you are." Scarlett might have left her weapons and other supplies back at the hotel, but she always kept something sharp on her no matter what. This time, a simple metal lock picking tool would be enough to deal any damage to anyone.

Anastasia - Grocery Store, Walker LA - June/Mandy/Cricin

Anastasia looked hesitantly at the letters on the board. She let out a helpless whimper and sighed. She looked at Mandy, using her hands to accentuate her words. "Eh... My English," Crossed her palms a couple times, making a universal sign for bad. "Bad."

The whole while, her cheeks burned red of embarrassment. She knew these people had to be laughing in their heads at the stupid Russian girl. "I..eh... want h-help you."

Chae, Miguel, Moksha - Suburbs - Ricky

Throwing her bag over the fence before taking a few steps back for her jump, she steeled herself. It wasn't a horribly high fence; she was familiar enough with it's kind that she was fairly confident she could scramble up the obstacle unassisted. But that'd take time they didn't have. As the crowd roared for a second chance at getting a bite of one of the group, Chae gave a nod thanking their sudden benefactor, a man talented and possibly homicidal man-- a man she was just now realizing she had never gotten the name off...

All the same, she thanked him, and with a practiced spryness, she and her cat vaulted over the fence. Mid-jump, she realized something and asked the second she landed.

"Wait, how are you going to get over?"

As if answering for her, Miguel approached the man, a grim gleam in his eyes. Simultaneously pulling up his sleeve, Miguel exposed a fresh bite mark to the man and yelled to the other side, "Relax, chica. He's coming over next..."

"Ohh..." Was Chae's momentary response, before an even more confused, "But wait, then how are YOU getting over?"

Ricky nodded back when the woman tossed him her wordless thanks. It took her but a moment to slip over the fence, and he only chuckled as she asked how he was going to get over. He had to admit, he wasn't sure. He hadn't been thinking about that. He had new friends to try and impress, so he hadn't been focused on getting only himself to safety. Of course, the chef quickly found that it wasn't himself he had to worry about. The man who hadn't seemed so enthused about saving him in the first place, was now revealing that his own life wasn't going to last so long. He answered his companion for the newcomer as he showed off a fresh wound. He'd been bitten, and rather badly.

Unfortunately, Ricky had no idea how old the wound was. He was pretty sure that if he acted quickly enough, he could have lopped off the arm. A bit of first aid, and the man would live. As it was, he didn't see the point of trying, and failing. Even if the bite was only as old as fleeing that tiny gate out front, chances were slim, and the added pain wouldn't help anyone. Not to mention they didn't have enough time to treat him on this side of the fence, and the other side of the fence was too far for two people if one of them was missing an arm.

With a sigh, the wanderer gave his rescuer a grim nod. "I'll keep her safe." he offered, his voice low, to keep Chae from hearing. "He's going around." he added, louder, to calm down the two who'd climbed to safety. With the zombies getting closer, he hoped the combination of a fence and a meal might hold them off long enough for the three unbitten survivors to escape. It was horrible, that he could think this way, but he didn't have much choice. He just had to wait for his boost over, and then he would take Chae and her kitten, and run. And once they were somewhere not surrounded by zombies, he supposed he would have to explain what happened, and what he'd promised...

Mandy - Grocery Store, Walker LA - June, Anna, Cricin

Exasperated and confused Mandy turned to June for help. Whatever the girl had said was clearly lost on Mandy. Even if her accent hadn't gotten in the way, when she spoke a different language Mandy was completely confused. The sign hadn't helped. Mandy figured the girl probably wasn't actually trying to make a real sign, at least not one Mandy knew. Hearing people used some signs, such as the come along, all the time without realizing it. Mandy tried to figure out what this girl meant. Somewhere along the lines of stop, cancel... Bad? She couldn't be certain, but maybe June would be able to shed some light on the situation.

Mandy was glad she had people again, being alone had been terrifying. When she had found Victor again she had relaxed some, but he babied Mandy too much for her liking. June at least wouldn't do that. Even still Mandy needed help there was no denying it.

Ellis smiled, and gladly accepted the offer to come inside. As he did so, he noticed the house looked to be run down, and in awful condition.

"This is probably not the safest of safe houses." stated Ellis as he turned to Monica,

"Would you like me to sit?" he asked.

Abram - Apartment - Tina/Samantha/Co.

Abram listened as Tina spoke - little information was better than none. When she posed her question, he turned and looked at her. "I'm familiar with some groups in that area. It doesn't take the wisdom of Solomon to figure that the people who took Tyler, Katie, and Scarlett: also took my friend Jess. I'm thinking if we find one, we can find the other."

He shrugged. "I'm a big guy and I can shoot a gun, but I can't get past a whole fortress of survivors. If this Tremblay guy is as influential as you make him out to be, then he's gonna have plenty of supporters.”

Emma - House - Ellis/Monica

Emma looked at the boy as the comment rolled from his tongue. “Oh, yeah, sorry for not being holed up in a frickin’ military base. Remind us next time you intrude and we’ll be sure to relocate.”

She sat aside Monica and ignored the boy the best she could. She couldn’t explain why, but she felt slightly nervous around the guy. Maybe it was cause he rubbed her the wrong way...

Chae, Moksha - Main st. Walker, LA - Ricky

Everything seemed dimmer. As if some permanent overcast had been shroud over the world-- months spent traveling, months spent together building a friendship, and for what? A small bite on the arm to end it all? They'd been through worse together-- but that didn't matter now. He was gone. He was just gone and she was completely powerless to do anything about it. It was all gone-- all that progress, all that talent and skill he'd possessed-- if things had stayed the same he'd have had his choice at any college with full sports scholarships. He was someone destined to succeed. So why had fate chosen him and not her? And why did she have a vague feeling that hurting herself would make some amends for it all.

Breath Chae...

A light purring came from her arms.

She broke down again. In the middle of the street. It didn't matter. She'd been crying for hours-- silent tears streamed down her eyes, and every now and again, she'd just break down. Ricky had long ago quit stopping to check on her each time she fell. She'd be fine. She was the failure-- the world didn't need her-- she was just a parasite. That's why she was alive. That's why she'd be fine. This loss...

It felt familiar.

Depression and apathy trekked through her being as the trio trekked... somewhere? Occasionally, Chae would glance down with vacant eyes at a map. Miguel was better at this.

It felt really familiar.

She remember the poem.

"A sort of walking miracle..." She muttered, "Peel off the napkin, my skin, do I terrify?" Eying a Walker in the distance, she continued, The nose, the eye pits, the full set of teeth, the sour breath... Will vanish in a day."

Ricky allowing her to be their navigator was really, not the best executive decision...

Drunk on her own melancholy, she continued, as she caught up to Ricky, her whispers grew louder, "Soon, soon! The flesh the grave cave ate will be at home on me. Me!" Her increasing volume gave way to giggles, "And I a smiling woman, not even thirty! And like the cat I have nine times to die!" She nuzzled against the kitten, tears wetting Moksha's fur while laughs pollute the air, "So God and Lucifer! Beware, beware! Out of the ash, I'll rise with my black hair, and eat men like air!"

She leaned against Ricky as she finished her rendition of the poem, laughing and crying.

"Walker!" She parroted, reading a sign, "What a fitting name!" A sigh, she backed off the man, "Think they got, like, a liquor store?"

Liam - Apartment - Samantha - Pondering Life

Liam sat there somberly, they were going to take him away to somewhere "safe" He didn't want to go there. They were never safe places, especially with the people he was going with. He did hope he was wrong and they were good people, but as his first stay with them were...it wasn't a great impression.

Turning his head to see Samantha, he remained silent as she first spoke, he gave a soft nod as she talked about how Scarlett and the others were taken. His gaze was faint, it looked like he wasn't actually looking at Samantha but rather his eyes just happened to be in her direction.

He focused slightly more on Samantha as she mentioned going back to get the things that they left before they came.

Liam bit his tongue as he thought...before nodding. "Yeah...we should..."

Cricin - Grocery Store - Anastasia,Mandy,June

Cricin stared blankly at Anastasia, "Note to self: Be glad you don't only speak an other language" Cricin stood there for a second. He glanced at the whiteboard, and while June wrote down the name of Anastasia, she had taken the board and Cricin didn't frankly care enough right now to go ask for the whiteboard to write down his name. Or say his name at all in fact.

All he wanted right now was the food that was apparently very close by. So, he followed June as she started to head to wherever this was.

As he walked up, he spoke up "New Orleans? That's where we're heading...." Cricin paused, hoping that she would take "we're" as Him and Anastasia and not as him and some mysterious person. Who was Clyde...Which he kinda needed to get back to eventually. He hoped they wouldn't mind another one coming along.

Ricky - Main Street, Walker, LA - Chae, Moksha

Ricky turned when he heard Chae start breaking down again. She was taking the loss of her old friend hard. Indeed, he'd lost count of the number of times she'd collapsed in the street now. He'd given up on consoling her, but still refused to leave her behind. So like before, as she fell to her knees, he moved to defend her until she got herself back together. There weren't many zombies around, and the three that had thought to make a meal of this incredibly sad woman quickly discovered that the man in the way was not so easily defeated. He hacked the heads from the undead almost effortlessly, the heavy blade of his knife cleaving through their necks like a butcher hacked through joints on a carcass.

No more ghouls showed up this time, thankfully, and the chef began to wonder if he'd killed them all yet. He had certainly tried, with the number of times his new friend was giving up continuing. Of course, she always found more strength to carry on eventually, and this time they had little to worry about when the pair managed to keep going. Another zombie hove into view ahead, and Ricky sped up to kill it before it could really become a problem. His friend recited some poetry while he executed the monster with a stab through the eye socket, and a twist of his toothpick.

He paused to look around while his companion caught up, and when she did, he regretted it a little. The woman was going mad from grief. She laughed and cried and went on about whatever strange poem she was distracted by. And he began to wonder if it might be a mercy to just kill her. Of course, he knew he wouldn't be able to. She was the first person he'd met in a very long time that wasn't trying to kill him. He couldn't kill her, because he wasn't sure what he'd do if he wound up all alone again. Finally she stopped leaning on him, only to ask if they might find a liquor store or something. "I'm sure we can find something." he offered in reply, thinking it might not be so terrible to get quietly fucked up for once. Sure, it was terrible for his health, and worse now that they had to hide from zombies. That wasn't going to stop him, a drunken stupor was probably the only release he'd get from this fucked up world.

"Let's go get sloshed, eh?" he suggested, leading the way once more. He was pretty sure it wouldn't be too difficult to locate a liquor store even without a competent navigator. If he was honest, he'd only given Chae the job because he was hoping it would distract her enough to have her not collapsing in the street every ten minutes or so. Obviously that hadn't worked out, so he would just have to find them something to drink, and make sure no one got eaten in the process...
