Every game, this guy makes a ton of characters (always teenage girls, usually copying preexisting powersets), then somewhere down the line gives some half-hearted excuse like "writer's block" and just waltzes out out in favor of some new thing that's caught his fancy, which usually ends up killing the game. It's irritating.
considering a marine crew and pirate crew? would it also be possible to do a villain pirate crew? Seeing as the Doctor would fit best as a villain and a reoccuring villain that could fight and challenge the heroic crew? :{P
Okay, so... apparently those lines went right over peoples' heads. I'm not sure how. But "If ye be a true laggard, I'd be a whoreson fer talkin' down of ya. Can't let ya go stickin' dubloons up yer nose or jumpin in' the water because ye see a pretty fish, so I guess I HAVE to come along" means:
"Man, if you're actually retarded, I'm going to feel bad for insulting you. I can't let you go sticking coins up your nose or jumping in the water because you see a pretty fish, so I guess I HAVE to come along."
I... kind of assumed that a lot of that could be inferred from him asking if Devil Fruits cause brain damage.
Lol, I understood. My character just didn't. He didn't really grow up around pirates.

Hm... Hate to say it rin, but that about sums up my past interactions with you as well.
Writers block shouldn't really be an issue anyway. Just type a quick to the point paragraph without much garnish using almost no pronouns and that'll suffice if you've got block. I know I do it with other RPs i'm in.
@Marik yes our marine crew is about 5 right now compared to the 12 pirates. Also if you post it in the Marine Recruitment thread I would just drop a mention of our GM's name to make sure she/he notices it.
@Hebigami ShihoKind of interested in a Marine Role. Thinking Doctor would be good. Here is mostly completed character sheet.
Appearance:
Name: Ophilia Tressel
Gender: Female
Nicknames/Aliases: Hana [Flower]
Epithet: N/A
Age: 23
Bounty: N/A
Hometown: East Blue, Junk Island [Not to be confused with Scrap Island]
Marine Rank: [Not quite sure about this yet]
Role: Doctor
Abilities & Skills: An able chemist and herbologist, Ophilia is able to easily create usable potions for medical or poisonous uses. A skilled healer with a stellar track record, she prides herself on her ability to save lives when she is counted on to do so. Able to identify illness quickly, she can almost always prepare the right concoction for the job at hand.
In combat she uses a combination of her Hana Hana no mi abilities and Kenbushoku Haki, of which she developed more strongly after eating her Devil Fruit as she became more in tune with nature and life. When fighting, Ophilia tends to be more defensive than offensive, making sure to evade attacks and prolong the fight to give time for her Hana Hana no mi to really take effect and turn the tide of battle in her favor. She is quite agile, light, and flexible giving her a great range of movement in combat.
Equipment: A Medical Satchel to hold medicines and bandages in case she needs to do quick first aid. A Metal Fan is her weapon of choice which she uses to defend herself, to attack with the sharp edges, and most importantly to more quickly spread around pollen to boost her Devil Fruit abilities’ effectiveness. A variety of flowers and herbs on her person for various uses.
Name: Hana Hana no mi
Type: Paramythya
Effects: Plant Body: The Hana Hana no mi gives Ophilia some plant-like qualities. For instance she gains the ability to photosynthesis, which gives her extra energy and even the ability to survive without food as long as she gets enough sunlight. She can also absorb minerals and poisons from others through the use of makeshift roots and expel the foreign substances later. Her hair turned green due to chlorophyll and her body can now have a symbiotic relationship with other plants, hence the living flowers in her hair. Also, since plant cells are now a part of her body she can regenerate and heal pretty much completely as long as she has enough sunshine.
Techniques: Rapid Growth: Her power can cause rapid growth in nearby foliage which she can control at will once she has established a pollen link with the nearby plant. It is a very powerful ability but largely dependent on the available plant life in the area. The power affects flowers, vines, and even carnivorous plants but manipulating trees is beyond her ability. She can also use this effect on the plants that share a symbiotic relationship with her, easily making weapons such as rose whips and flower screens.
Pollen Maker: When a flower is in symbiosis with her she is able to produce the same pollen and chemicals as the plant which has a wide variety of uses. With certain flowers she can create powerful hallucinogens, poisons, or even something as simple as an allergy or sweet fragrance to calm the nerves.
Absorption/Release: Using a set of ‘roots’ in her hair she is able to absorb toxins from people, other plants, or even the ground. She can then expel the toxins from any part of her body to easily infect someone else or just get rid of it. She cannot hold the poisons for long however or she risks having the poison stay in her system, getting her sick or even killing her.
Weaknesses: Having a plant’s strengths comes with a plant’s weaknesses too. Her number one weakness is of course fire as she is a lot more flammable than before. A minor weakness is the fact that she will have less energy if she is stuck in darkness for too long and her powers are most powerful during the daytime or powerful light.
Personality: Ophilia is a complicated individual who has quite a few different facets to her personality. She is a prideful person at times, yet can remain calm in most situations and not let pride blind her. Being quite intelligent she is not easily tricked and yet still somehow manages to hold onto a somewhat naïve innocence that most people lose early on in life. Her personality traits can seem paradoxical, but perhaps she is so vibrant because of her new symbiotic relationship with plant life as her life is essentially not just her own anymore. A person will almost always feel that there is much more to her then meets the eye but be unable to see how they can dig deeper.
Despite her somewhat contradictory nature she is quite loyal and true to the Marines and will therefore go to great lengths for their cause. She sometimes reveals a somewhat alien side in the fact that her values have changed somewhat duo to living with plants all the time. It is somewhat easy for her to not think highly of ‘animals’ and therefore she has no qualms in performing rather unsavory acts such as chemically enhanced interrogations. She does not take pleasure in causing pain to others but it does not bother her on as deep a level as it would most people. Thankfully she does respect her colleagues and she can form normal relationships to other people, much to the crew’s relief.
Biography: Born on Junk Island Ophilia did not enjoy a happy existence due to the condition of the island. Like its namesake the island was covered with junk, most of it complete garbage which forced the inhabitants to scrounge about for what they could sell or use to live off of. Plant life was almost nonexistent so every little bit of grass and herb that grew was quite precious. The island was also a frequent pirate stop so the residents lived in fear and found places to hide each day.
By coincidence as she was hiding when some pirates landed she stumbled into a sort of secret garden, an oasis among the heaps of junk and it was there she met the Devil Fruit that would change her life. Upon eating the rather ‘star’ shaped fruit her Hana Hana no mi abilities awakened, which allowed her to use her power to grow plants where nothing could grow before which was a great boon to the island; However, the strange turn of events piqued the pirates interest who after figuring out what happened captured her.
All seemed lost as she was still quite young at the time and unable to effectively wield her power when the Marines came. The marines trounced the pirates and freed her. Feeling indebted and grateful, she decided her talents would be best in service to the World Government and so she enrolled in the Marines, after making sure a sizable portion of Junk Island could grow foliage. Since then she has learned a great deal, especially about plants and medicine, and soon found herself on a particular ship with a particular crew.
Other: Ophilia for some reason can make her hair fluorescent, glowing in the dark when she wants to. Thankfully she can control this odd reaction so she isn’t glowing all the time.
I just wanted to know if there's still a spot left. If none, that's fine, I can wait until a spot opens up. But lemme at least lay out my character idea first. Actually, I already have a character typed up, a superhuman Marine who was once a former CP officer until he was promoted to a postion you'll allow him to have. Also, if you'll allow me, I wanted to make him to able to use Bosushoku Haki since he wont have any DF ability, so that'll give him at least a chance to stand against most DF users. He's slightly Vergo-ish the way he uses his Haki, but his strenght is somewhat Garp-ish, or least almost on that level.
