Kaya pouted slightly as they walked, thinking over the words carefully. In all honesty she never thought Bryant would be a knight in shining armour type hero. He certainly was never going to be a villain; he didn’t have that kind of evil in him. But his views weren’t exactly generic hero. “I think…” She began hesitantly. This wasn’t a conversation she could remember ever coming up before, and as such she wasn’t really sure how Bryant was going to react to this theory. “I think that you have a very strong set of views and morals.” The girl continued, still sounding slightly nervous.

“Which I think conflict with some of the ‘golden rules’ of Hero Morality. As such… I think you are more likely to become one of those darker style heroes, you know, like Batman or something. The whole ‘hero we need but not deserve’ ‘working in the shadows on the other side of the law’ type deal.” It made her worry about him honestly; it was risky enough being a hero, but being a vigilante was even riskier, though she was hesitant to call Bryant that because she felt like he probably wouldn’t like it.

(Is there any real difference between a Hero and a Vigilante?)

If the stupid class wasn't mandatory he wouldn't be in it. In fact he only bothered doing enough in the class to scrape by with a C- and not care. He understood that Kaya was trying to come up with a way to describe him without offending him... but he didn't think she could offend him. He didn't think anything she could say to him would offend him even if the same thing offended someone else.

"Batman... would never kill anyone if he can help it. I don't care. Come at me with lethal force and I will try and kill you back." He told her calmly "I won't like it... but it also wouldn't bother me all that much. I don't care what anyone else says about me... if they don't see me as a hero thats their problem... just so long as they don't see me as a villain."

'Though I doubt my mother would care either way.' He added mentally.

He truly only cared about whether or not he helped people.

(Probably not, but I usually think of it as a Hero is liked and supported by the law/ citizens, where a vigilante isn't.)

Kaya simply shrugged. “I wouldn’t know the first thing about Batman and his views on hero morality.” She said casually, as if this was a serious topic of conversation now. Although Bryant’s words made her shiver slightly. Sure he really was just talking about self defence but the way he spoke so casually and calmly about killing someone… He said he wouldn’t like it, but his tone spoke a lot louder than his words did and she let her arms drop finally, putting a very slight amount of distance between them. “Well… if they don’t see you as a hero… what else could you be than a villain?” She asked.

However Kaya quickly changed her mind and shook her head. “You know what? Don’t answer that. I don’t wanna talk about it anymore.” She nibbled at her lip for a moment before thinking of something else to talk about, anything really. “Oh hey, my chemistry partner doesn’t seem like a total dick this year.” She offered. “He’s new, so I’m assuming he didn’t ask me to be his partner because he knew I was good at the subject.” It may not seem like a lot, but for Kaya it was a really nice change of pace. Despite everything she really didn’t have any friends besides Bryant. It was upsetting sometimes. No one liked to think they were unliked.

"They wouldn't see me as a villain." He replied with a small smile "Just not a very good hero... like an Anti-hero."

An Anti-hero is a hero who lacks some of the qualities of a hero... in his case some aspects of a classic heroes morality. He wouldn't care about getting the worst criminals he caught back in one piece which some people wouldn't like. It wasn't a very common thing among heroes but he wasn't your average hero-in-training since his mother and father were villains themselves.

"I'd never cause collateral damage since I have enough control of my powers to avoid it." He told her as they walked "And its nice to hear you have a Chemisty Partner you can get along with."

As much as he would like to have Kaya to himself he wanted her to have more firends other then him to spend time with. She was far to reserved in his opinion and needed more friends.

“It’s not that I didn’t get along with the other ones…” Kaya said, which was more than a slight exaggeration of the truth. “It’s just they only wanted to be my partner because I was good at the subject and then they’d just let me do all the work. So it’s nice to know there’s someone who actually expects to do work this time.” Not that she minded doing most of the work, at least she knew she’d get a good grade that way but people’s laziness annoyed her. She said she got along with the others, but Bryant had probably sat though enough rants about each and every one of them to know what was a lie.

When they arrived at the burger place Kaya quickly picked out a booth and sat down, letting her bag fall gladly. “Be glad most of your subjects are more practically based.” She complained as she glared at the heavy bag, already stuffed with textbooks, homework and planned assignments. “Have we ever been here before?” She asked eventually, looking around but if she had been here then she had no memory of it, nothing was leaping out at her to say the least.

Bryant thought about whether or not Kaya had ever been to this place with him. As far as his memory was concerned he had never been in this particular burger place with his friend... but he couldn't say whether or not she had been here on her own or with her mother.

"I don't think you've been here with me before." Bryant told his friend "But I have and this place has great burgers."

He really liked this place and hoped Kaya would as well. It served all kinds of different burgers as well as different condiments to put on the burgers. There dozens of potential combinations possible! Of course he just wanted cheese, ketchup, and lettuce on his burger... but that didn't mean the amount available wasn't interesting.

"You'll like this place. You can have almost anything on the burger and you can have vegetarian, beef, buffalo, and turkey burgers." He told Kaya happily.

Kaya looked up at him, giving Bryant a strange look for a few moments before she looked back down at a menu, reading over it with a small smirk on her face. She wasn’t exactly sure what it was, but all of Bryant’s foul mood from before seemed to have completely evaporated. Usually it took her ages to bring him out of a funk like the one he’d been in. Clearly they needed to go out for burgers more, even if she did sometimes worry about the things going into her food. Usually, at home, she’d use her alchemy to access them and remove any chemicals or additives.

But she couldn’t do that in public. It reminded her why she didn’t go out for food often. The waitress arrived in a timely manner to take their orders and Kaya ordered a vegetarian burger with all the salads, a side of fries and a vanilla shake. “Let it never be said I’m one of those really stupid girls who doesn’t eat anything when they have lunch with someone.” Because girls like that kind of annoyed her, a lot. It was probably why she liked hanging out with Bryant so much. Yeah she didn’t get guys sometimes, but she never understood girls and their motivations. Guys were just… easier.

Braynt really didn't have any idea what Kaya was talking about. To his knowledge when guys took girls out they were often treated to what they ordered by the guy and as such would order something good/expensive as a result... or at least thats what a few of his guy friends told him. So as far as he was aware either Kaya knew even less about girls then he did, which would be very weird, or she was very different from other girls... or at least more then he originally thought.

He ordered a double bacon cheese burger with lettuce and ketchup, french fries and a large cup of a soda that had a lot of caffeine in it.

"I have no idea what you are talking about." He told his friend "My friend Grif told me something else."

(Guess what Grif is from!)

“It’s a thing some girls do, usually the really vain ones,” Kaya began casually. “Maybe not when they’re on a date, it’s more of a ‘in a group’ thing they’ll order a meal but will have like a handful of bites of it the entire time because they have this ridiculous notion that if people see them eating they’ll think they’re pigs or something.” She rolled her eyes in disgust before pausing with an odd look on her face and turning her attention back towards Bryant. “Wait a second. Your ‘friend’ Grif?” She accused suddenly. “You never told me you had friends other than me.” Kaya said with a smirk.

“Why don’t you invite him out to these things?” She didn’t want to think she was holding him back from seeing his friends because he thought she was too shy to hang out with other people. Or maybe he was embarrassed to bring his other friends around her? Whilst she was fairly sure everyone in the school knew they were friends maybe she was wrong. She couldn’t think of a reason why Bryant wouldn’t invite his other friends to hang out with them. She had a perfectly good reason for not inviting hers, she simply didn’t have any. But she’d never even heard of this ‘Grif’ guy.

(No... do you have a RvB rp? I'm just a big fan of the show and wanted to have a friend with questionable advice and thought of Grif. Also I've thought of a power for him that you'll never guess!)

"The reason I don't bring him around is because he's kind of an ass... and one of the Laziest people I know." He told her in response "I've invied him many times ut he keeps telling me he'd rather go home and play video games. When I do manage to convince him to hang out your usually busy."

Grif was a good guy... but he was kind of an aquired tasted. His powers complimented his personality quite perfectly in Bryant's opinion and when the situation was important there was no trace of his laziness.

"Don't get me wrong he's a good friend but I don't think you'd like him very much. He may insult you accidentally... or on purpose I can never ewally tell with him." Bryant told her "And I do have other friends... they're just not the kind of people I want to meet you. Sarge is a Misogynistic semi-mad scientist who's simultaneously quite stupid, Simmons is a brown noser and thinks Sarge can do no wrong, Church is a Class A A-hole, Tuckers a major Pervert, Donuts just weird, and Caboose maybe the dumbest person in existence."

(I honestly think the RvB guys would be fun to hang out with despite the fact I'd slowly be going insane by being near them.)

(I'm the GM of a OC Project Free Lancer RP :) Not exactly the same, but same franchise. Also I love Caboose)

Kaya sat there for a moment, unable to hide the look of utter shock on her face as Bryant described his friends. He had chosen very odd words to describe his ‘friends’ she hadn't heard one good word about them. Grif was, apparently, a ‘good friend’ but he hadn't been able to list one good characteristic. Realising she was still staring Maya finally pulled herself out of it and fidgeted in her seat slightly, looking down at the table. “Oh.” Was all she was really able to say in response to that. There were disadvantages of having a very sharp mind; it was difficult not to think about things.

Bryant didn’t want her to meet his friends, whom he had just insulted. Every single one. And they weren’t minor insults either. She could only imagine what he was saying about her when he was with his other friends. ‘Kaya’s okay but she’s just so damn boring. All she does is read and study.’ Or something along those lines. Her thoughts were, thankfully, interrupted when the waitress arrived with their milkshakes. Kaya smiled and thanked her as she pulled the glass towards her and began drinking quickly. Should have ordered chocolate. She thought to herself. Chocolate is a fun flavour. Nothing fun about vanilla.

She suddenly pulled away from the milkshake, pressing the balls of her hand to her temples. “Ah! Brain freeze!” She complained as she shook her head. Of course only she was lame enough to get a brain freeze from drinking a milkshake too intensely. Internally Kaya sighed.

(For some reason my space bar is acting up... or I'm not pushing it down all the way so if words are mashed together its not my fault.)

Bryant wasn't telepathic or a mind reader but he didn't need to be in order to guess what Kaya was just thinking before she drank her milkshake to fast. She was wondering if he had been saying mean things about her to his other friends.

"Kaya... your my oldest and first friend. I can tell what your thiking and your wrong." He told her blandly as he temporarily ignored his food "I told my friends that your are highly intelligent, kind, pacifistic, friendly, and calm. Sarge stoppedlistening when I said you werea pacifist, Donut thought you sounded fun, Grif didn't care, Simmons seemed to want to talk about scientific things, Church thought you sounded boring, after explaining the difference between a pacifist and a pedophile to Tucker he wanted to know if I had seen you naked, if you had big breasts, or were easy, I already hit him for that, and Caboose didn't understand but thought you sounded nice. There is NOTHING about you that I don't like."

Okay so there were things he thought she should change but that was just her extreme pacifism as he felt that it would end up with eitherher death or hospitalization.

Kaya glanced up uncertainly but found herself blushing all the same at the things he was saying about her. And she believed him, despite everything Bryant had always been honest with her, sometimes to a point where she wished he wouldn’t be so honest but it was nice to know she could take everything he said at face value rather than trying to read between the lines or search for deeper meanings. Despite everything it did make her feel a lot better hearing it. “Thanks.” She eventually said, giving him a grateful smile. “You usually know what to say to make me feel better.” She teased.

And sometimes he missed the mark completely. “I still think I’d like to meet your other friends sometime though.” Kaya insisted. Even if they weren’t people she’d usually associate with. She wasn’t as easily offended as Bryant sometimes thought she was, only when it came to her family or friends, other than that she was usually pretty resilient, one had to be when they resolved not to fight people. And these people were important to Bryant, even if he didn’t say nice things about them they were people he hung out with. The academic in her was also interested to see how he behaved around other boys.

(I'm not sure I can accurately portray them in an RP. If I don bring them in I might have you play a few. I'm sure I can do Caboose, Sarge Grif, and maybe Tucker. Also sorry if you've been waiting, its busy here.)

"I guess I can see if they want to meet you but it may be a while as they themselves are kind of seperated in some kind of gang or group." He told her "They get along well enough but its also more of a love/hate kind of things. I think the only person all of them can get along with is me."

He wasn't sure exactly how to describe his friends relationship with each other, sine they all seemed to simultaneously hate and care for each other. Well Donut and Caboose seemed to like everyone but they were kind of idiots. He was certain that this meeting would probably end poorly in some way though. Either the two groups would start fighting or someone would insult Kaya.

"Essentially they all hate each other but can tolerate each other at the same time. They're technically friends but they don't really like the ones in their own group." He told her "Sarge, Simmons, Grif, and Donut make up one group that they refer to as 'Red Team' and the rest make up a group they call 'Blue Team'. I have no idea about why each group dislike the other and the only explanations I could get were from Caboose and Donut... which made no sense."

Kaya looked at him curiously, shaking her head slowly as he spoke. She opened her mouth as if to say something, but waited as the waitress returned with their food. She thanked the woman and then looked up at Bryant again curiously. “You have the strangest sounding friends.” She said, still trying to work it through in her head how Bryant fit into that group. She figured maybe it was more the individual relationships rather than the idea of a group that held them together, which she eventually decided sounded the most logical. They were a number of individual friendships who grouped together for convenience.

As such Bryant’s attraction wasn’t to the group as a whole, but the individuals within, despite his constant complaints about them. She eventually shrugged and turned her attention to her burger, peeling off the top bun as she began placing fries neatly onto the burger before putting the bun back on and taking a big mouthful. She glanced up at Bryant as she chewed and eventually swallowed and pointed a finger at him. “Don’t judge me.” She warned before smiling and taking another large bite out of the burger. He was right, they did make really good burgers here.

(I do that with my burgers sometimes.)

"I don't get them either." He told her with a shrug "They operate in a way that I just can't comprehend... though watching them interact with eachother is the most entertaning thing I've ever seen."

That was probably one of the reasons he liked hanging out with them so much... the pure entertainment value. It was absolutely hilarious watching and listening to them bicker with each other. When the food got there he wasted no time and immidiately started taking bites out of his burger. He only vaguely noticed that Kaya was doing something when she spoke up.

"Wha?" He asked in coonfusion while burger was still in his mouth.

He wasn't very big on manners and usually was quite focused on his food when eating. He noticed that she had put her fries on her burger and just shrugged before drinking some of his shake.

Kaya rolled her eyes and shook her head, letting herself smile despite everything as she finished off her burger. “Okay, I’ll give it to you, there are pretty good. This was a really good idea.” She finally admitted, finishing off her milkshake and sighing in content. This was definitely a place she planned to frequent more. The food was good and the place was quiet enough that she could study if she wanted too. Bryant probably wouldn’t like her using his burger as a place of study though. “So you have anything else you wanna do or do you wanna get going?” Kaya asked as she riffled though her bag, pulling out her wallet and throwing her share of money on the table.

A Smug smile appeared on Bryants face upon hearing Kaya tell him he was right. It didn't happen often so when it did he liked to bask in the feeling for as long as he could. Right now that was about ten seconds. He wiped the smug look off his face and pulled out his own wallet before placing his part of the bill down and grabbed his own bag.

"Lets get going." He told her with a normal smile "I bet our mothers are wondering whats taking us so long to get back home."

His mother might think he had been put in detention already... it had happened before but only one... at least on the first day that is. He's had detention quite a few times but he knew that he had deserved the punishment each time. Didn't stop his mother from yelling at him when he got back home.
