I am planning on making a Fire Emblem RP, as the title dictates. However, I am also planning on making a new universe filled with lore unlike any other of the games. Unfortunately, I don't know what the plot is going to be or how the world/lore is going to be like.

This doesn't mean I don't have some ideas. I want the northern part of the world to be mountainous and filled with valleys, while the extreme north is covered with snow. I'd like the southern parts to be tropical, maybe a few islands here and there. I don't know what the "middle land" should be.

As for the plot... I'd like two factions to be fighting against one another. Think of them as two families that rule different parts of the world. Each family seems to be "bad" or "not good" in the other's eyes and only one family wants to do something "good". I am not sure whether or not to use this plot, but at least it can be a basis for other ideas.

Anyone interested?

I am very interested in this one. It obviously needs some lore and world building. I would love to help with that. I like the idea of a mountanous north. It gives way to a force primarily using wyvern or pegusus forces. Also, maybe generals. A tropical south could lend well to mages of all kinds and archers. As for the middle lands, they could be vast flat plains where a horse mounted people are caught in the middle of the fued between the two families. Just initial thoughts. Well, Thoughts?

I'm interested in this. It will be cool to see how this ends up.

Also should we add Manakete or any other race like that?

I'm interested. The "Middle" factions can be the steppes with tribes similar to cultures of Central Asia or a religious empire comparable to the Byzantine Empire.

Going to keep an eye on this since it's been ages since I've partaken in a FE-roleplay, never mind worldbuilding for one. xD

I think the setup should be based on what sort of roleplay you're aiming for.
For example a kingdom/nation based roleplay would differ greatly from the setup of an RP where the characters would play the role of a wandering band of heroes. The setup would equally need to be changed if you intended to have all the players play on the side of one of your aforementioned kingdoms.

Personally I think it'd be better to have 3~4 kingdoms so that you can play with the political aspect of things as well. It might be a bit harder to control, but it adds an extra dimension to the roleplay, and prevents every character expressing the "I hate the other kingdom" trait. It's a good trait to have, don't get me wrong. But when you have a dozen characters all going "Grrr, my kingdom's better" it gets a bit tiring. If a third kingdom is added, it could be minor and not directly involved in any fighting.

Additionally/Alternatively I also like the idea of incorporating a few tribes into the middle region which could be a variety of biomes. Desert, Forest, Plains, Swamps, etc. In regards to manakete's... they'll probably need to be toned down, unless someone wants to play a 'civilian' character who normally has no combat capabilities (But can transform in dire situations, though with severe drawbacks). The idea of letting them transform at will, or letting them go SuperSaiyan (I'm nearly dead... POWERBOOST!) will probably detract more than it'll add. I personally prefer a more Laguz approach in terms of power levels.

I'm not sure if you intended to have some sort of 'unknown enemy' coming from the far north, but I personally think it'd be interesting to have them come from the middle in overwhelming numbers, threatening border control, and screwing over road access between settlements.
(Again, this would depend on the plot setup you want, it'd also be interesting if characters were forced to be part of the North, and then have to fight off an unknown enemy from the North, and an opportunistic South army).

As for overall lore? I'd personally like to see something revolving around racist persecution. Preferably with a 2nd or 3rd race. Humans are a given. But I think it could be interesting to include a race with elven characteristics, perhaps they had an expansive kingdom in the middle in ancient times, but they were wiped out, or invaded by an alliance of the north/south in an era only recorded in the dustiest of tomes?

Think I've ranted enough, so that's just some food for though xD

I like the ideas that @Rakurai put out there. More than two kingdoms would be a good idea. Maybe the middle land can be grasslands, with forests and swamps. Not deserts cause I don't want another Plegia.

I'm not keen on adding elven people or Manakete, but Laguz are going to be present in tribes. Branded are going to be included as well, so the races are going to be the Beorc, Laguz, and Branded.

I also don't want the plot to be a simple wandering band of heroes. I want it to be more involved and different than that. Sure there can be a main force, but... not just that, you know?

Will we follow the game's Laguz selections or can we make ones that aren't in the games?

We'll be able to make the types of ones from the games and our own. So basically there's going to be the Beast Tribes (lions, leopards, jaguars, and other canines/felines/mammals) and Avian (?) Tribes (hawks/eagles/vultures/etc). The dragons are going to be EXTREMELY rare and are most likely not going to be playable.

Just be reminded that we won't be having five Laguz and one Beorc-- Branded and Laguz are going to be limited.

I can say the villain can be a tribal leader that managed to unite the nomadic tribes? After uniting them he would lead the conquest of small kingdoms in the centre of the world, slowly crawling into larger kingdoms.

The protagonists can be a loose coalition of soldiers from the kingdoms trying to stop the hordes from conquering any further.

I suppose culture of the kingdoms can range from Asian to Europe, including some Middle Eastern, Central Asian and the Caucasus.

Hmm, personally I'm not too fond of including Branded.
I suppose I'd be okay with Branded existing in the world as NPC (as pointless as that seems) but every FERP I've participated in has been overrun with Branded and Myrms and it gets really boring. Even with limited spots, I don't agree with the first-come approach. I suppose I'd be okay with a Beorc character that's privately negotiated to be a Branded and not known to fellow players, but otherwise... ehhh.

If we want to do the whole persecution thing, I'd much rather see it incorporated as Laguz being seen as inferior by humans, and laguz tribes holding certain attitudes towards one another.

Branded are setup in a way that's a bit too Mary Sueish for my liking, just my preference. It's not a dealbreaker for me, but personally I'd prefer them omitted. I'm aware that this is going to be based on FE, but I'd prefer the RP not copy/paste the FE lore/setting of the GC/Wii installation.

As for Laguz types?
I sort of think it'd be better to remove all original Laguz tribes, and have players contribute their own set of Laguz. For example Dragon Laguz might be completel omitted if no one wants to play one. Whereas a rabbit Laguz could be incorporated instead if there's a keen player. Laguz tribes can be fun, as long as it doesn't become obsolete clutter.

I'm adding Branded because there's bound to be some around. I've run RPs with Mary-Sues and things of the sort, so I know what you mean. @-@ But I will make sure to not allow any of that crap here, since one of the people that is possibly going to join helps me run things with an iron fist. I'm going to go ahead and say that Branded are also extremely rare and will be more limited than the Laguz are to limit the possibility of those kinds of characters partaking in the RP.

And Laguz are gonna be persecuted by the humans, of course.

Hm. That sounds pretty interesting. There can be more than three tribes but can be a little smaller than they were in the games. And of course, it'd be pretty cool to see a ferret Laguz or something. :P

But I don't want a straight up war between Laguz tribes and humans. Maybe there can be something else that overshadows it?

What do you guys think about parts or chapters of the RP? That way characters can evolve and change even more.

The Laguz tribes can be refugees from the tribal conquests.

So there would be natives of the area and they would try to take back their lands?
Eh, I'd prefer it if the Laguz were the natives, and when the Beorc came over they were pushed to a little corner of the land. Of course there would be Laguz that think that killing one another for the return of their land would be bad and that there are other ways.

Maybe the two rival families/kingdoms have to work together in order to fight the (Laguz) threat or something? Maybe the heads of the kingdoms aren't right and they just want the Laguz out of the way? Idk.

Not really. I'd like everyone to start off with first tier classes (unless you have a good reason) to avoid anyone becoming OP. Classes like Bride/Conqueror/etc aren't allowed.

Personally I'd prefer to stick to the original concept of having two kingdoms that are at war with each other.
My take on things would be the Beorc kingdoms wanting to invade one another, and making preparations to do so.
But seeing as how there's a Laguz area inbetween they'd probably want to get the locals on their side to secure a supply route. Most Laguz tribes though probably wouldn't appreciate Beorcs waging war against one another in their lands, so they'll be fighting to keep the invaders out, or negotiating something in exchange.

I guess you could say this is North vs South with Laguz getting literally caught up in the middle.

My issue with 'Beorc v Laguz' or Laguz being used as refugee's is that I can't imagine Beorc policy being overly accepting of taking in Laguz. The concept of having a few sneak in; perhaps even establishing their own secretive little community out on the streets is neat. But as an overall focus for the roleplay, I find it a bit of a stretch to think Laguz would flee persecution from their kin (even if they're savages), and rely on humans who persecute and disdain them.

Either way, having the Laguz pitted against the Beorc sounds like it'd detract from the entire point of having Laguz as a race in my opinion.
If we want to incorporate Laguz taking back their lands and some major Beorc v Laguz conflict, you could easily have the Beorc's invading and claiming land with the intention of invading the other Beorc nation. In that sense the Laguz would be a petty threat, and easily brushed aside at first. But war is a tricky thing, and something might happen to make the Laguz more dangerous later on, whether that be unity, magic or some sort of alternate intervention.

As for Chapters, I think that's compulsory component of any group roleplay that's intended to last longer than a short story. It actually fits in pretty well with the base material, but more importantly an introductory paragraph makes sure characters know what's going on, and what's expected of them. People can obviously deviate a bit and be creative of course. But setting out the central premise and objectives helps keep things orderly and manageable. Having people go off on a completely random tangent sucks.

Available classes should probably be listed so we get variety.
I might even go as far as suggesting you specifically create positions for characters to fill xD
