Interested in joining as an OC race, could use a little help with determining where to start on the map. I am bad at map-making and I don't want to step on anyone else's toes.
My people are the Mithrans, a race of humanoid felines.
Perks: High reproduction, agile, clever intellects, naturally high morale. Weaknesses: No direct combat magic ability, low strength, prone to clan infighting regardless of morale.
I'd be interested if i could make a horseman tribe, of a subhuman group. I haven't fleshed it out, but here are the basics
-Leaner and slightly shorter -Tan skin -incapable of magic, but slightly resistant -Territorial, but nomadic -Highly attuned to their horses, almost unnaturally so -Considered feral, although they are quite civilized as far as society goes
Will probably add more later
EDIT; Instead of regular "magic" they practice a more feral, ritualistic form of magic, but it is not a huge piece of their society.
I do not know, I do not play Final Fantasy. I will change names just to make sure to avoid issues and/or confusion on the matter. Or maybe just be a human faction.
There are so many unique races now I'm going to have a hard time keeping up with all of the different freaks. At least there will be a lot to smite once the shit hits the fan.

Basically anything that isn't claimed in the IC thread is still available for you, which would be most of the central land if you want distance to your allies/enemies. @Chenzor began working on the map not too long ago and should probably be done with it someday today or tomorrow if you feel like waiting.

Oh really? The Te Chi may be the most quiet of the races but they get very cruel when provoked. 7 foot Giants is nothing to laugh at. XD
I have advanced into the first turn! Check the IC. If your race is missing from the post, please let me know! There is so much shit to sift through in the OOC now I might've missed someone. Also I have a new request for you all: use hiders when typing out your massive story posts and be short and consistent when taking an action. You can write simply "(A), we want more food." and then write your books about how you do this in hiders so that it's easier for me to scroll through your posts later! Note however that the better (NOT LONGER) the post about how you attempt to improve, the more likely you are to succeed. A player who writes -how- he creates a farm will have better effect than a player that just writes that he creates a farm.
Also apologies for taking so long! I knew this would be a massive undertaking on my part and I'm having a lot of fun developing this for you all, so I hope it will be worth it in the end. Anyways, welcome to turn one! Any and all questions are welcome!
Wherever I am on the map should be tropical.
And where is that?
So, rolling time? Or are we waiting on a couple of people?
Rolling is not a thing in this roleplay! You attempt and action and I will decide what happens.
Okay I didn't see there was a steppe tribe, I'll just play some mountain orcs if that's ok
Go for it! Remember to specify a spot on the map, a color to associate with your civ and the name of your settlement. I love me some orcs!
Also a heads-up to everyone, I might ask some of you to specify again where your settlement is located, as some descriptions are a bit... Hard to understand. A screenshot with a dot (or heart in Evangelyne's case) is excellent. For example the steppe people @Voltus_Ventus and citrus crest @barkmeat2. Apologies if you've already told me, I may be just a bit daft!

Shit. Ight my bad on land description, I can't do the picture shit mostly because I usually post from my phone. It's between the south-western river before the fork and near the coast with the large lone island. It's pretty much down river of the lake elves.

Sorry, I can't actually mess with pictures because I too am on my phone. But if you look at the map, there is an island to the east. If you look to the northern most part of the island and draw a line from there to the left, my home is on the coast, not the island's coast or the coast opposite but the coast further west of the opposite.
@Voltus_Ventus Do you mean where the black spot in the middle of the map is? That coast? Or the westernmost coast? @barkmeat2 Alright, I think I get it now!

The sovereign stood with his hands behind his back, looking out at the sprawling grasslands before him, his back to the gentle, lapping waves of the sea. The sun was high in the sky and his wife was crouched on the ground, feeling the soil beneath her finger tips. She dug her hands into the earth and pulled out a fistful of dirty, she crumbled it in her hands and shook her head as dust came off it, "Voltus," she said, referring to her husband stood by her side, "The earth here is parched and the harvest meager, I believe we should find another place to build our home." Voltus nodded slowly and turned to the sea, watching his people bathing and fishing as the children played and splashed in the bitter river*.
"We stay." he said simply, brushing his black hair from his eyes, "How does the grass grow here, if there is no water?"
"Some say there is water in the air, some say there is water deep in the earth, what does it matter?" she looked up at him confused, squinting as the sun was behind Voltus, casting a halo of light around his head.
"Then we go to the water," Voltus turned to face the people, they were far from him, what must have been 500 yards, he began to make his way to them and when his toes were in the sand he raised his voice and the tribe fell quiet, "Ventians! I see for us a future here, by the bitter river. We can live here but without food we can not stay! I want the strongest men and women to follow me, one per family." Voltus watched as heads nodded and people discussed, once all was agreed upon 50 men and women stepped forward, "follow." Voltus turned and walked, counting his paces, 800 paces he counted and decided that they were far enough. "I want a you to dig, 3 cubits* down and as far as you can dig in every direction."
The men and women did as they were told out of respect and reverence, Voltus' wife approached him, "why make them dig?" she asked, not realizing why, "we can not take the water out of the soil."
"Darling," he began, getting down on his knees and starting to dig with his people, "We will not take the water, we will plant in the deeper, wetter soil."
They dug from high noon until the sun had set fully and for their labor they sat at the edge of their hole, a quadrangle that was roughly 100 cubits by 300. The people who dug it were tired, their backs hurt and their hands were sore from digging the earth but they did it, they reached the wet soil below. "tomorrow we plant," said Voltus, holding his wife's tired body, "now we rest."
Description of The First Farm: The farm is 3 meters deep and is roughly rectangular in shape, 100 meters by 300 meters, the soil on the bottom is damp and fertile and should support the cereal crops that are to be grown there. At either end, in the middle of each 100 meter side is a ramp, 5 horses can walk side by side on these ramps.
Ok I shall be the tribe of the "Black Peaks", the first tribe amongst the shattered, family based orks of the southern eastward mountain range. United by Hazjul Gaunt, although loosely United at this point. Because of the semi-fragmented structure of the tribe, their actions will shattered but will slowly become more focused as the Chief further asserts his rule and leads his tribe.
Not feeling all too productive today, so I'll simply be boring and not write a wall of text describing why and how. (like I usually tend to do.)
That's okay. You wrote quite a lot on your first post so I think we're okay for now :D

Awesome. Hop into the IC. Don't forget: spot, settlement name, color!
Not a new turn yet, as many still haven't posted. But I updated the map finally, check it out.

Oh god I didn't see this one! Hi! Some feedback is that "no direct combat magic" isn't that heavy of a weakness, since you're still saying they can use magic just not in combat. Also prone to infighting is a lesser drawback aswell, but the low strength thing makes up for some of it. I'll allow this race for now but you are free to change them if you wish.
