I'm not a medic, I'm an explorer. An explorer who's had military training, but who'd rather avoid open battles like the current one. If given a chance, she'll stay inside the ship.
Another thing--We just skipped vital time. Time we could've used to establish our characters and interact with one another as well as time to plan something out OOC.
Still, don't you think the military would basically be 100 years ahead of the ship's defensive technology? Bypassing shields or having especial explosive weapons that basically turn the hull into butter.
