Lincoln waited there a second, before the door opened to the blonde girl he saw enter, which he assumed was Paige. The girl introduced herself, and stuck out her hand for a handshake. Growing up in Slight, nothing was very formal. It was kind of a dirty industrial place and everyone knew each other. Lincoln wasn't used to the handshake gesture, so he didn't have the quickest reaction to that. After what felt like a century of awkwardness, he flung his hand up and gave her a handshake. "It's nice to meet you, Paige."

After thinking that their encounter was over, he didn't expect her to ask him if he wanted to walk down to dinner with her. Lincoln was quick to say yes, wanting to get to know her, this was a perfect opportunity. "Of course." Lincoln responded, with a smile he hasn't worn in years.

Tarvas was almost snoozing when he heard someone calling out in the other room.

“...someone there?”

Yes, there’s me… he thought, but he didn’t announce. Dinner was coming up, actually - he decided to look at his choice of clothes.

Opening up the wardrobe, he found a very interesting selection of… a guard uniform. Might as well spice it up a bit, he thought, and threw in his one set of backup clothes. There, that looks so much better.

He decided he would go down to dinner early. What the guy in the other room was doing was his own business.

Finn had finished unpacking after introducing himself to Logan and decided to head down for dinner, seeing as how his stomach had been growling at him for the past fifteen minutes. He looked down at his clothes to make sure he looked well enough to go to dinner. His parents had always told him that how you dress tells people quite a lot about you. He decided that the blue sweater and khakis looked fine and he quickly made his way towards the elevator. He walked by a few of the other recruits rooms and reminded himself to get to know some of them. he was going to be around them for a year and a day after all.

Sarah examined her friend in the uniform and too be honest she was a little awestruck, seeing someone she would be fighting alongside actually in the uniform made her realise that this was actually happening. As she took in the sight of her friend she realised that she was staring, letting out a slightly nervous laugh and smiling she replied

"Amazing, a perfect mix of hot and terrifying they'll never know what hit them" before quickly adding "Sorry, if I was staring seeing you in that uniform made me realise that this is actually happening, you know" Turning back to the wardrobe she grabbed a uniform and asked "Mind, if I change in your room? Seeing you in it makes me want to get this on asap"

Nya liked the way the boy tried to correct his grammar to make himself sound more sophisticated. It showed an effort at least. "Well. I was raised around this stuff," she said, making a broad gesture around herself. "My family actually helped start the Council. So, you know, it's kind of in my blood." She avoided his eyes when she said that, trying to glance out the window nonchalantly. She couldn't ever tell if it made people outside of Focal uncomfortable to hear about her history. It had always been a source of pride in her family but that didn't mean it extended to everyone. She changed the subject just in case. "So, have you ever seen an Anomolous?" She couldn't hide the slight excitement in her voice and knew her eyes gave her away. They had always been her tell.

Unfortunately for Tarvas, Derric heard someone moving around and quickly stood up, making his way towards the door. One he reached it he simply knocked on the door and raised his eyebrows. "Hey, uh... Tarvas is it? I'm your room mate Derric."

Seril nearly broke out into a sweat when she asked if you had ever seen one. He thought to himself, if only this girl knew how close she was to an Anomolous, would she stake him? He wondered if he had ever heard of her family but he couldn't put a figure on it. Back in Till there wasn't much talk on the politics of the other zones. "No, we had an old man when I was a kid that got taken away but I never met him myself" he said slipping his hands into his pockets. He was intrigued by this girl and certaintly wanted to continue the convorsation. he didn't know what to say though so he looked at his feet and pondered what to query next. "So what's Focal like then?" he said only having seen the large skyscrapers and tall buildings in his way in, in the limousine.

Lilith had been wandering the hall for quite sometime now, but she wasn't sure she had been floating around in the right direction. People looked at her, country hicks from till scowled at her, but when she scowled back they turned their heads. She straightened her dress intently, and walked as though she had a purpose. Today she had to show that she was an amazing student, but she also had to show she was at the top of the foodchain. Many Principal students never came to the academy, because even after they got the call they either knew they were too good for it or they were too bad for it and if the came home with no promising new job as a guard they would put their families to shame. The other Principals came to the academy and some failed, but others made a good show of it like Lilith would, and they strived to prove that they were amazing. Most of those others weren't Anamolous though, so they wouldn't have the advantage she had.

While she thought about this and plenty of other things, Lilith came across a person in the hall that she hadn't been expecting."Ah! Estella is that you? Or are my eyes decieving me? What are you doing here in the academy?" Lilith walked up to Estella in her flats, and gave her her best smile. Estella had been the center of attention at many parties, because she was the daughter of one of the Council, and she was also very pretty. Lilith had always been jealous of her, but in this school she probably would see many others she pew, so she took the chance by saying hello.

"Lilith!" Estella cried out excitedly. She was delighted to see someone from Principle. "Yes, it's me, the one and only. I was invited here of course, silly." She gave Lilith a quick hug. "I am so glad to see someone on this campus with some fashion sense. I love your dress by the way, you are going to have to let me borrow it sometimes!" she gushed.

Lilith may have not been as popular back home, but Estella knew she was a good girl to have as your friend, especially here. Finally there was someone she could talk to about fashion and they could even visit home together. Plus, Lilith was smart too so she could help Estella out with homework if she ever needed it. "Are you headed to the dining hall by chance? Because if so, I'm so lost right now." she admitted a bit shyly. She didn't like to admit that she could ever be so foolish as to get lost.

Nya felt a strong wave of anxiety when she asked Seril about the Anomalous. I shouldn’t have asked that. I’m revealing too much and it’s gonna come back to bite me in the ass. Shut up about the stupid Anomalous. The anxiety turned to slight fear and then dissipated as quickly as it arrived. Nya casually glanced around the room while Seril asked about her life in Focal. She was glad for his subject change. “It’s basically what you see here,” she answered. “Being the political hotspot for Markson kind of makes us a business hub as well. We have more poverty stricken areas, of course, but our drivers avoided those areas, as I’m sure you can understand.” She liked having more control over the conversation. It gave her the edge over what was and wasn’t discussed so there’d be no surprises. Like how you’re a total freak , she thought. The idea came out nowhere and it startled her. She noticed Seril staring at her silence so she continued. “I noticed a girl from my school is here too. Her name is Paige. She’s kinda cutesey for Guard training but I think you’d like her if you go to know her. We basically grew up together. Her family is set to be on the Council soon and I know she’s excited about that. It’ll open a lot of doors for them that they may not have had access to otherwise.” She walked farther into his room and sat on the edge of his bed. She looked around at the few personal things he had out. There weren't many things that gave away what kind of person he was. He’s so private, she thought, just the kind of roommate I was hoping to avoid. I guess I’ll have to try harder. “So , Till?” she asked. “Are you a farmer? I like your accent by the way. You shouldn't hide it so much.” She looked up at him, amused.

"I wish I was heading to the dining hall, but this place is huge and I cant find anything!" Lilith giggled with a sparkling smile, she looked at Estella and couldn't help but grin. They could be friends here, even if they were snotty bitches. "And what do you mean you need to borrow my dress? You look good in just about anything!" She hoped her attitude would help Estella, because Lilith knew she was shy about some things.

Lilith offered Estella an arm, with a friendly smile. If we don't find the dining hall we could always asknfor directions, even though it isn't my thing." She waited for Estella to speak, a comfortable smile still on her face.

Tarvas had almost opened the door when the side door connecting the rooms opened and another guy - the roommate, obviously - walked in and introduced himself.

Err... "Hello Derric." He had absolutely no idea what to say next; he very arely held a coherent conversation that didn't involve yelling at home. "Yes, it's Tarvas."

The most he could think of at that moment was the rising desire for food.. he hadn't eaten since the morning and this was the time he would usually go out hunting.

"Oh you're flattering me, Lilith. But look at yourself! You've got such a nice glow on you now. Someone got majorly hot over the summer~" Estella said, returning the compliment. She wasn't lying either. Lilith has definitely changed since Estella last saw her back home. She accepted Lilith's arm, looping it with her own. "I wish we could just ditch and go to your room. I'm assuming you were fashionably late and missed the announcement because we are required to go to the dining hall. I think the headmaster or whatever he is, is making an important announcement or something. So we better go find it."

So the two of them continued to wander around together in search of the elusive dining hall. "Hopefully we have a lot of the same classes," said Estella, trying to keep a conversation while they walked together, looking fabulous if she might add.

Seril watched as she started talking about her home, as she looked around his room, he thought to himself what life must have been like growing up in Focal. It could've been all that hard but neither was life in Till, and he had his stories.he turned around still leaning on the door frame as she walked to his bed and sat down. And he almost blushed when she mentioned his accent. " In Till, on the main road, all types of folks would come from all the zones to a small store I worked at. We didn't get a lot of business but it was only business that we ever really got in the whole town anyway besides the farms. We got a little ranch back home but nothing to brag about, just to keep us going." He said looking at the book laid open on the bed next to her. For a second he thought that would look weird but quickly brushed that feeling off, picking up the book and putting it on his desk. "I don't really know my way around this place, do you know where the dinning room is?" He said trying to keep his accent down.

Mason listened as Chess spoke, almost flinching at the guess of his home-grid. Was he making a statement? Did Mason just dress like a farmboy? "Uh... yeah, Till..." He said. He shrugged at the second comment. "I mean... we're farmers... I know plenty of people who grow things besides crops, if you know what I mean..."

He shifted on either feet. "So... see you at dinner?" He guessed. He waved his hand in farewell and let the door close between the two of them. He pressed his palm to his forehead - slick job on the greetings. He turned and looked around his room. His eyes wandered to the uniform that was still folded on the bed. He quickly changed into the shorts, shirt and hood. He left the hood and mask hanging on his neck... it seemed kind of weird to wear it...

He noticed his pants looked like someone had simply spray painted his thighs navy blue... He opted to open his oversized duffle bag and produced a pair of fitting, black cargo pants. He slid the pants over the shorts and tucked the ankles into his black boots. Lacing them comfortably, he stood fully and felt a little more comfortable. He didn't understand why the uniform was so... tight. He cracked his neck, sat down, and occupied himself with his thoughts before dinner came.

Paige tried not to stare at her roommate strangely when he didn't immediately shake her hand. But that just reassured her that Lincoln wasn't from Focal. She never even considered the possibility that he grew up in a different culture. She rubbed her arm as they walked down to the dining hall. She knew exactly where she was going, and enjoyed the slow stroll. "So, where are you from? Not to be mean but you're obviously not from Focal. I'm from here, so I know how we act around each other. Plus you're way too soft spoken to be from here. At my school if you didn't speak up and take the attention, you never got it." She opened her mouth to say more, then scrunched up her eyebrows. "I didn't let you answer." She said more to herself than her roommate. Looking at Lincoln, she apologized. "I kind of just went off and didn't even let you speak."

Dyana was almost startled from his reply, but it also gave her mixed emotions from him "So...like does he want me here cause he wanted to talk to me, or he doesn't want to be alone..." she felt like she was being pulled around her brain "I hate...this, whatever the hell this is" she smirked and blush, looking the other direction with his comment about being a guy of action "Slick with your words, aren't we now?" she looked back to see him get up. Dyana damn near fainted when Colt started walking towards her, feeling him look at her made her feel...she didn't even know a word for it, but it certainly made her blush even harder. If it showed, she would look like a damn tomato.

He laid back down and said something about a pool "Well...that would mean I'd have to change and I don't know if I can trust you not to peek in" she walked towards the bed "I mean, from how much your eyes wonder, I might have to ask to make sure I get extra locks" she cross her arms and looked at the boy spread on the bed. "Do you think...nah just have fun with it" she stepped onto the bed and over him "But if you want to, we could go wondering, as long as I can get a piggy back ride, im down to go anywhere" she looked down on him and smirked "Dude what are you even...screw it what happens happens, you dont even know what guys like..." she couldn't go back now.

Lincoln enjoyed walking beside Paige. It was something that comforted him. He couldn't put his finger on it. Paige went on to ask him where he is from, and explained further. The she apologized, and Lincoln was almost stunned from the apology, "No! No problem. Honestly. I like listening to you." Then realized how that came out, "I mean, it is just I never really had a conversation like this. I grew up in Slight to answer your question, and in Slight, I live in a logging family. Since slight is the main source of wood and everything."

Lincoln went on to explain how he worked day in and day out either doing odd jobs around his town, or cutting down trees and delivering them. He objected himself to let her know he also had friends, but everything is much different from here, "It isn't nearly as formal. Or clean." Lincoln chuckled a little. It was nice to be able to walk and talk with a friend, well, an acquaintance. Life moves so fast, and being able to do something like this is very relaxing. "So, Paige," Lincoln's eyes made his way to hers, "I have to ask you something." There was a short pause, "Chocolate or vanilla?" Lincoln grew a big smile.

Derric smiled warmly as he saw he new boy, raising an eyebrow. Fortunately Derric wasn't oblivious, in fact he was the exact opposite. He understood people well, extremely well; and he knew what people were thinking. "Hey! I'm Derric, I guess we're room mates... I won't go past that, I'm too hungry. Wanna just get a bite to eat?"
