He blushed... He freakin' blushed! He caught the next grape she threw at him, but, gently wrapping his arm under her knees and around her shoulders, he shifted her off of him, setting her down next to him. He grinned at her and munched on the grape, stating, "Let's not go that far, sweetheart. I still need to get to know ya first. Then we can have a little fun." He winked at her and took another bite out of his apple. He shakes his apple at her and said, his mouth still full, "I may be a flirt, but at least I'm a slightly classy guy."

He saw a pretty young thing walking toward one of the guys at another table and he flashed a flirty smile toward her (@CLIW) before turning back to Dyana. "Here, why don't we play a version of twenty questions? We each ask a question and both of us have to answer it. Between the two of us. we make up twenty questions. I'll start. What's your middle name? Mine is Curtis."

Citrine laughed again and took the sandwhich from Sarah, eating it quickly. She smiled at Sarah before beginning to gather food on her plate, filling it up into a huge mound. "I've never seen this much food before. This is about how much food my brother and I eat in a month, not in one day!" She began shoving her face with potato soup and she smiled again.

Paige fixed herself a plate while Linc was talking. When he answered chocolate, she gasped in mock horror. "I don't know if it's legal for us to be friends." She joked. She couldn't quite understand why it was so easy to talk to him. It was practically effortless. All her life, she had to be acutely aware of her syntax and inflictions in her voice. If anyone got the wrong idea because they didn't understand her perfectly, she was held responsible for any fallout that affected her parents' jobs. But now, she was talking and laughing with a guy she met today. If someone had told her that this was how her day was going to play out, she would have laughed in their face earlier. But now that she was here and in the moment, she couldn't imagine doing anything else. SHe chuckled slightly when he apologized for rambling. "It's okay, really." She said. "And yeah, I'm really excited for this whole adventure. I know I probably look like the last person who should be here, but this is something I want to do for me. So that's all the motivation I need." She ate somem of her salad then continued. "The food's great. You should eat as much as you want, just know that you'll be working it off in the morning. And what about you? Are you excited?"

As Finn entered the dining room he bit his fingernails nervously. He'd always been a bit nervous around people, and there were quite a lot of people here, and unfortunately, none that he knew. His roomie had yet to come down, so Finn was left to find a seat on his own, and introduce himself. He'd been popular back home in Principle, he was a nice kid and he was known for throwing some pretty good parties but none of his friends from home had pursued being a Guard.

Finn scanned the room, looking for an empty seat. He finally spotted one, right next to a blonde girl (@tabbycat) who was talking to a brown haired boy (@_Middle_). He had seen both of them outside the tower, and he figured this would be a good opportunity to meet some more people. He strolled over to the table they were seated at and began speaking. "Umm, I'm sorry to interrupt. Is this seat taken?" Finn asked, gesturing to the empty seat, nervously fiddling with his sweater.

"My oh my," said Alda, limping to her seat after spotting the flirtatious smile flashed to her. To say she was pleasantly surprised was an overstatement, and she sat a little heavier than she'd hoped to. Damn leg cramps. "Did you see that?" she asked Derric. "The hot unstable dude smiled at me. Score one for Alda, boom." She clapped her hands once in an emphatic manner before turning to examine Tarvas.

"I might have seen you around," she said hesitantly. "You hunt or something?"

"Mason! Like the jar? How nice, I like your name Mason." Lilith reached her hand out and grasped his, which was large and showed his heavy amounts of labor. She smiled brightly, and her eyes crinkled around the corners. She let go of his hand and adjusted the skirt of her dress, glancing at Estella in the process. "So, Estella was wondering if you were a new recruit?" Lilith lied, trying to get the boy to stop just staring at Estella, and start talking to her. She looked around the lunchroom and started to poke at her food with her fork. "How old are you? Because you're very tall." She asked, still looking down at her food. She was running out of icebreakers and she was starting to crave her books again. She just wanted to go to her room, because she figured that all they would do for most of the evening is stare at each other.

Mason shook Lilith's hand, careful not to squeeze too hard and break her hand or something. Sometimes, he forgot that he was as strong as he was and screwed up. She had soft skin, which he assumed to be common of Principle kids. As opposed to hers, his own hands were tough and leathery from years of work and heavy lifting.

He released a quiet laugh at her comment on his name. "Uh, yeah... like the jar." He said, smiling ever so slightly. His eyebrows went up when she mentioned Estella. "Oh, yeah I'm new. Came today like everyone else." At the comment on his height, Mason shrugged. "Just turned 18 a few days ago. Not sure where the height came from, though. My parents aren't staggeringly tall."

He glanced momentarily at Estella, who seemed uneager to join the talk. "Pardon my manners," He turned in his seat to face her - finding himself having look slightly downwards once again. "It's nice to meet you, Estella."

"Same for me, outside of a birthday party I once went too" Sarah replied as she grabbed a plate of food. She tucked into another sandwich before adding

"Can't wait to start classes tomorrow, hell I still can't quite believe I'm here" Biting into an apple she asked

Derric chuckled at her reaction, sitting down next to the girl. As he did he shook his head and glanced over in the direction of the boy, chuckling under his breath. "I wouldn't suggest captilizing on that. I'm fairly sure that it's sees every femal as a piece of meat and nothing else." As Alda asked Tarvas if he hunted, Derric raised an eyebrow. Did he hunt? Maybe he was a kindred spirit....

Estella froze for a moment. She watched Lilith talk to Mason with ease and felt a bit jealous, even though she knew that Lilith was doing it for her sake. She felt like all she could do was stare at him while the two of them talked. Normally she wasn't think nervous around guys. But then again, Principle guys weren't nearly as buff and fit as Mason was.

She defrosted as soon as Mason said her name. She felt her face turn hot and it started to feel like she was melting. "H-hi...It's n-n..nice to meet you too, Mason," she stumbled a little bit with her words. She pushed back a strand of her hair and put it behind her ear, nervously. She found it impossible to look into his eyes. She couldn't believe she was this nervous around a Till boy. She wanted to keep the conversation going but she didn't know what to say. She extended her arms out for him to shake her hand like he did with Lilith, her heart pounding as if it would beat out of her chest in the process.

"Oh, I hope he doesn't think I'm a weirdo... I wish I could show him I'm usually a lot more charming than I am acting," she thought to herself, obviously oblivious to his reactions towards her.

Lincoln laughed when Paige said that they couldn't be friends. Then Paige said that she was excited for the whole thing, and that she wanted to do it for herself. Lincoln couldn't help but admire her motives. From everything Lincoln so far knows about Paige, he likes everything about her. Her personality is nothing but likeable. When Paige asked told him he should eat all he wants, he completely agreed. She also asked him if he was excited about the year to come. Lincoln postponed the question and regarded the food statement, "Oh yeah! I am going to gain about twenty pounds today. I don't even recognize some of these foods." Lincoln laughed, cutting up some meat on his plate. He took a bite and chewed, and made sure to swallow before talking. Lincoln was raised in a very mannered household. Lincoln set his utensils down and took a swig of water.

"I am definitely excited about this. It gives me something to look forward to. To tell my future grandkids. This will add so much variety to my life. My life has been so dull. Doing the same thing over and over again everyday is stupid." Lincoln looked at Paige for a bit after he said this. He looked back down at his full plate, and began eating some mashed potatoes. "So, how is it growing up here? I heard everyone is filthy rich here. I also heard you guys throw away leftovers," Lincoln took another large bite of meat and swallowed, "I even heard from a friend you guys get your own servant. I told him that was absurd." Lincoln laughed a little a looked at Paige. Right after, a boy came up and asked if he could sit down next to them, "Oh, of course, man. Go ahead." Lincoln moved some of his stuff to make room for the boy. The boy seemed really nice, and Lincoln was enjoying all of the new people he was meeting. First day, one new friend, and even a new potential friend. Lincoln was beaming.

Tarvas frowned slightly when a girl, presumably from slight, walked over. He wasn’t entirely sure, but he thought he had seen her before. Although he very, very rarely met people while hunting, there were some occurrences where he at least made eye contact. He couldn’t place this one, though.

When she asked him if he hunts, he said “I did back in Slight. Name’s Tarvas, by the way.”

He took up another apple - he had a lot of them at home, and besides, it was the only thing that wasn’t covered in large, obvious specks of dirt or dipped in liquid that would be an immediate red flag for contaminated water.

Zeph had gathered her meal, and payed no mind to the display of idiotic banter around her. Everyone seemed like they had at least a singular liability, honestly if she had any respect for the people in the room (Teachers included) it was gone. She looked for an open seat, she noticed one across from some girl.

Without asking she down,she observed the others she was conversing with about some idiotic past time.As she looked over at the members of this small group she noticed not a one had done a thing to direct her initial assessment. Zeph did something out of character, she asked a question

"Are you all going to be useful or are you treating this as a game as most that I see here?"

Her voice raised enough to garner their attention maybe even a tad intimidating.

Derric calmly looked over at the new comer as he heard her speak, raising an eyebrow slightly. It was an odd question to ask especially since there was nothing too actually be doing right now that would actually be considered 'useful'. In fact what they were supposed to be doing was eating, which is what they were there to be doing, which technically meant they were being useful.

"Hello to you too." Derric answered sarcastically before chuckling. "Explain to me what you mean as useful? Because from where I'm sitting you're being just as useful as I am at the moment..."

Finn grinned as the brown haired boy cleared some room for him to sit down. He quickly took the seat, smiling at the pair. He grabbed a plate and began serving up food, looking up at the two while doing so. "I'm Finn by the way. Finn Beckett, from Principle. Not that I feel like you should know that I'm from Principle just so I can rub it in your face. I just think that it's sort of basic knowledge about me. I'm sorry I'm rambling," Finn said. He could feel his face growing hot as the blood rushed to his cheeks, an occurrence that was quite common when he felt like he'd embarrassed himself.

Tarvas wasn't sure what to make of this new arrival, coming over and going on about being useful. He simply watched the conversation between Derric and her, while getting himself a third apple. His mind wandered to what may happen in the next few days, the start of his training.

Nya expected that Seril would just follow right after her but he, instead, told her that he needed to step out for a smoke. "Oh, uh yeah. Just, uh, find me whenever." She tried not to sound too disappointed that she'd be walking to the dining hall alone. There was no reason for her to be nervous. She knew what to expect from dinner. They parted ways at the end of the hall and Nya headed in to eat.

When she reached the dining hall, what seemed like complete chaos was ensuing. Girls were draped over boys, people were complaining about the food, and she couldn't even see if the teachers were in the room. This is absolutely not what I was expecting. Anytime Codeeva spoke about dinner, Nya was left with visions of an elegant and sophisticated event. But, this wasn't any different than her prep school. How disappointing she thought. Her stomach growled, reminding her of her intent in being here. She walked over to a table that was currently unoccupied in hopes of being able to survey her environment while she ate. Immediately a group of servers brought her multiple trays excessively filled with every type of food she could think of. She had always wanted to eat her dessert first as a kid but had never been allowed. She immediately dove into a piece of cheesecake and settled in to watch everyone around her.

Alta stared blankly at the young woman, trying to hide her irritation at the intense rudeness. She took a couple more bites of her food and chewed over-emphatically while holding Zeph's gaze. She broke it only to look from Derric to Tarvas and finally addressed the girl, looking back to her with one eyebrow raised.

"Are you fucking around or did someone shit in your dinner?"

Zeph payed close attention to the reactions. Both males acted with noted curiosity and or confusion. The girl grew angry, she would either be strong willed or the weakest link. Internally she smiled at the ever constant contrast that comes with courage and stupidity.

"No one has excreted in my meal. I am serious. I desire to know if you and the ones you have aquainted yourself with will be viable in a time of extreme crisis or will you buckle under the pressure and become a liability and either get yourself killed or cost me a successful mission or worse the life of your team. I do not "fuck" around when it comes to choosing my allies in a situation such as this one."

While her words and eyes stayed fixed on the girl that resorted to vulgarity rather than a civil answer, her words where intended for any that could hear her. Hopefully it would be loud enough to be heard of the crunching of apples, which seemed to be a reoccurring theme of the day.

((Get ready for the time jump.))

Nau looked around curiously. Everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves and getting along very well, but he knew that within a couple months, some of those friends would be at each others' throats. He looked over at Sky and smiled. Sky rolled his eyes, knowing exactly what his friend was thinking at that moment. Sky then turned back forward and faced everyone as Nau stood up and walked back to the front center of the room. He coughed quietly and whistled loudly, silencing everyone in the room. He looked down at all of the faces that turned up toward him.

"Alright, everyone! Dinner is over. Head back up to your rooms. Curfew is eleven. No boys in girls’ rooms after curfew and the same the other way. Your Weaponry and Defense class starts at eight A.M. sharp tomorrow. Make sure you are wearing your Guard outfits when you go to any class. Anyone late will have to deal with the wrath of Sky.” Nau glanced over to Sky, who smirked menacingly. “Now, I want everyone to clear out of here within the next five minutes, or I personally will throw you out.”

Colt smiled over at Dyana and said, “Oh well… I guess we’ll half to get to know each other tomorrow.” He walked over to her and immediately scooped her back up onto his back. He took off running down the hall once more, heading toward their rooms. He skidded to a stop directly in front of her door and gently set her down on the ground. He turned to face her with a big smile on his face.

“Honestly, I had a lot more fun here than I thought I would, and that is thanks to you, Dyana,” he said with a big smile. He looked down at her, his eyes shining wide and bright. He couldn’t stop smiling at her and suddenly, in the spur of the moment, he gently tucked a strand of hand back behind her ear and cupped her face. He gave her a little half smile when suddenly sheflashed across his mind and he jerked away from Dyana, dropping his hand back down by his side.

He stared at her for a brief moment and choked out, “I’m sorry.” He jerked away from her again and hurried back into his room. He slammed the door shut, locked it, and leaned up against it. What the hell was wrong with him? He walked over to his bed and collapsed on it. The picture of the young woman stared at him and he slammed the photo down, saying, “You’re ruining my life, Oceane. Why…” He moaned into his pillow, but soon enough, his exhaustion took him and he fell asleep.

Citrine sighed as she put down her spoon and stood up to leave. “Well, I guess eating time is over. I guess I’ll see you tomorrow, Sarah,” she said. “I kinda just want to be by myself for a little bit, if that’s alright.” Not waiting for a response, she headed up to her room. She entered quickly before locking the door behind her. She quickly stripped out of her Guard outfit and pulled on her pajamas. She slithered under her covers and almost immediately fell asleep.

((So here are the rules of the time jump. You can either do what I did and do what happened after dinner and then go into what happens the next morning, or you can just go straight into what happens the next morning. Also, we will be skipping breakfast because there really isn’t a point to it… You all had breakfast before you went to Weaponry though. I’m going to give you guys a chance to post to get to the training room before I have Sky enter and we start. Alright, here we go.))


Colt didn’t take wasting time lightly. He was up at six o’clock in the morning, went down, had breakfast, and ran a few warmup laps in the track in the gym. By the time he was finished with his stretches and he warm ups, it was only seven o’clock. So, he spent the next half an hour swimming before heading back up to his room and changing into his Guard outfit, which was a little tight around his chest area.

Now, he waited in the training room, waiting for the teacher and the other Recruits to fall in. He was trying extremely hard to think about what he almost did last night with Dyana. He didn’t know what he was going to be able to do when he saw her this morning. Obviously he couldn’t avoid her, but he needed to act like it never happened. He took a deep breath and leaned up against the nearest wall, running a hand through his hair. This was going to be difficult.

Citrine, on the other hand, believed in sleeping in until you had to get up. She was up at seven, got breakfast and ate until seven forty five before making her way up to the weaponry training room. She then stood against the back wall, waiting for Sky and the other Recruits. She couldn’t wait until they started. This was going to be so exciting! She promised Rey that she would video chat him the night after her first training day here and she knew it would be exciting.

She smiled when she thought of Sarah as well. Sarah was the first friend that she had ever really made who didn’t care about where she had come from or how much money she really had. She leaned up against the back wall and sucked in her cheeks. This was going to be fun.

Tarvas heard the final question from the odd girl before the announcement that dinner was over. It was a question he would ponder as he made his way up the stairs.

He didn't spend much time before going to bed. The question remained in his head as he got some sleep.

Tarvas was an early riser. He wandered the building a little, exploring some of its corners unseen by others, before he had some breakfast. He spent a little time exercising and went back up to his room to put on the guard outfit. For the most part, the question of last night had left his mind.

He gave a nod to the few folks in the training room and leaned against the wall, waiting.
