Technically it's considered bad form to charge in T1 before making contact, usually because it implies a certain degree of meta-gaming.

Is it considered bad form to charge before first contact? I've never seen it to bbe bad form. Charging on the first post(in my opinion the initial posts by each person; but I think its just the first person to post who can't charge right off... or I'm thinking of YGO. Lol)

Usually I don't prep in a stance post. That is the most commonly accepted rule. Prep any time after the stance but stance is just to show the character off.

It's only explicitly banned in T1 Eden during the introduction posts, but in my opinion charging without any direct knowledge of an opponent's whereabouts seems unrealistic, unless one can maintain a charged state for long periods of time (which also seems unfair.)

When is your character acting, my character is currently carrying out an extensive 30 minute scouting mission within the forest.

Also what is your character's energy consumption rates like? Presumably they've just been hovering around for over 20 minutes now, which I would have thought would be at least somewhat tiring, and now launched a huge hail storm over a large area.

They were sat in a tree - the hailstorm is like 40% of their maximum energy.

And it would be before all of that took place.

By the way on the topic of endurance and waiting games I wanted to look up my suit battery life and there's a discrepancy in my sheet, with me stating in the endurance section that it has a life of six hours operational and then later saying it has two hours of life.

If the battle wages long enough for it to be an issue I'm happy to settle for an in between time of four hours as it was my mistake to list two different battery lives. I doubt we will pass two hours of 'real time' though, even with our reluctance to engage.

Well, as it would be unlike my character to walk into an ambush and I also don't particularly want to there isn't really any other option but for my character to work out from his current information where your character is hidden.
