Dragon Age: Vagabond Souls





Kirkwall, the City of Chains.

Long ago it was part of the imperium, slaves coming from far and wide to work the queries.

But now it’s a free city,

Ironically just a few years ago it was a haven to Templar abuses and Blood magic, but under the rule of Divine Victoria, Kirkwall has become a safe haven for the new mage order.

With renewed vigor it has attracted mages who wanted to make the starting place of the mage rebellion a new home and makes sure the abuses of the past will never happen again.

The locals don’t approved whole heartedly who are still recovering the start of the rebellion.

So due to the tension of mages and locals it has become a hot spot for mercenaries, who are hired by the newly freed mages to keep them safe from mobs or locals to keep an eye out on the mages, whatever the reason many mercenaries flocked to Kirkwall.

But something big will happen, it always does in Kirkwall.




So that’s the idea for the setting, as I said the Rp will involve heavy character influence and player input.
So I have an idea for how the Rp will go, but that could change greatly, so I would love input from you guys, now the rules!




Rules:

1. The average Casual rules (a paragraph per post, no meta-gaming, no god mod, etc and etc)

2. Two characters per player, (Unlimited Npc, since they are recommended for your character’s quests.)

3. Characters will have quests (can range from many things, like kill everything or find something that’s up to you)

4. My word is law (But if you think something is wrong or unfair just tell me, and be polite about it.)

Personality:
Helene's most obvious personality trait is her devoutness. Her belief in the Chantry and Maker is unshakable. She has even been known to use the Chant of Light in conversation, believing the truth of the Chant to be more than enough of a response.

Backstory:
Helene de Valmont was born the second child of Prince Reynaud and Duchess Clarisse de Montfort of Orlais and the younger sister to the Empress Celene I. Compilations of inheritance and the rightful heir to the Throne of Orlais saw the young Helene sent away to the Chantry as a young girl to spare her from the Game. Helene became a Chantry Sister for a time before Studying to become a Templar. Her skill at arms and her Devout and unshakable confidence in the Chantry and the new Divine Victoria meant that Helene quickly caught the Divine's attention and was eventually invited to become the new Right Hand of the Divine.

As Divine Victoria's Right Hand, Helene was sent on many missions for Her Holiness. The most remarkable of such adventures was an assault on a Tevinter dragon cult, hiding in the High Reaches between the Imperium and the Anderfels, that would lead to the recovery of one of the Chantry's most prized relics, aside from the Urn of Sacred Ashes. The Spear of Andraste, wielded by the Maker's Prophet herself during her Exalted March against the Tevinter Imperium. As she was the one who recovered the weapon, Divine Victoria decided that Helene would be allowed to continue carrying it, that it may be once again wielded against the enemies of the Maker.

Skills:
Block and Slash - She counters an enemy's blow and lashes out with a strike of her own.
Whirlwind - She spins her spear around herself in a whirling attack that cuts through any foes in her path.
Grappling Chain - She casts a grappling hook at an enemy to drag them off balance and into melee range.
Spell Purge - Through faith and will, she dispels all hostile magic from the area around her.

Personality| Acaela is a quiet soul, enjoying books more than anything. She is passive, and a loving elf to those in need. She's naive and believes everything can be better. Practicing Healing has made her more sympathetic and empathic to others, caring is her main trait and always cares for others and only the actions of others will judge how things will change between her and the other.

Backstory|
Born in the town of Lothering, her mother a simple merchant and her father a guardsman. Acaela enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere within the village area. Lothering always covered in clouds, raining softly as she sits inside the cottage listening to the sounds of rain. Life was good until her father was murdered. A raid began in Lothering, during the night a band of bandits stormed in sneakily making there ways to the guards. " I'll always protect you. " Seemingly a multitude of guards were killed and one of the guards was her father. His last words ended with him stabbing the last bandit and yet dying by the blade of his victim. Her mother tried to keep a happy face after the incident, she always trembled to tears when she was always and putting on a fake smile when her daughter, Acaela was around. Acaela learned spirit healing as a young one, her father always told her to help others in need and that's what she exactly did. Magic always mesmerized Acaela and the fact that it could heal wounds made her even more determined to master it. Sadly, her mother died by old age Acaela was a fully grown adult at the time...death didn't worry her though, thinking that if she practiced more she could revive the dead...but that was a failure at the attempts to revive her mother she only drained her energy. Broken, broken into multiple shards...but she forgot the bad things in her life and continued on, leaving Lothering, continuing her life as an adventure.

Skills|
  • Healing Aura| A sheet of light surrounds the users allies that are nearby, continuously healing them for only ten seconds.
  • Pulse| Multiple pulses of light comes from the users weapons or hands, healing those nearby the user, though it is not as effective as healing aura.
  • Direct Heal| The user touches the injured one, using incantations to heal the injured one. Direct heal uses large amounts of energy since it heals impalement's and maybe broken bones (if allowed. )
  • Healing| This can heal small wounds, and takes less energy. It might be useful but in cases its just a spell to heal plants or something along those lines.
  • Slow| The user will conjure a beam of ice, shooting it towards the opponent slowing them and also freezing them on contact, depending on how powerful they maybe varies the effects.
