I'm sorry, but your avatar and signature totally ruin the menacing Nazi-Getmany vibe that you'd otherwise have going on.

I imagine Alfhedil's entire nation as barely pubescent Japanese schoolgirls, your entire nation as the Tin man from Wizard of Oz, and Willy Vereb's entire nation as Santa's Elves riding eagles.

I am not afraid

EDIT: Don't even get me started on Sid Meier's Gandhi

Hey, you said it didn't need to be changed :P

Would you like it to be a third? A quarter? A fifth? A sixth? Just some random dude's house?

Yep. I would like all 20% of my population (the human percentage) to have conquered and colonized Old Man Jenkin's retirement home, where they remain to this day.

No, it's fine.

I don't get all this hype about airships and flying things. Shoot it full of holes and it crashes to the ground all the same. None can pass the Iron Ring by air without the Hegemon's permission .-.
Anti-air defenses in WW2 were way too inefficient for that.
When the Germans began their V-1 attacks, they launched circa 100 missiles a day.
In comparison hundreds of fighters and even more ground defenses wasted tens of thousands of munitions and even then about 10% slipped through.
Worse, technically the percentage is even lower since only some 2000+ missiles ever got close to Britain out of the 8000+.
So the actual interception percentage is somewhere around 60-70%.
We talk about relatively dumb fired missiles, controlled by gyros and some good calculations beforehand.
They were also slower than Spitfires or other competitive fighters.
This is the most famous AA feat in the entire WW2.

So yeah, there are low but quite considerable chances that somebody can just fly past your borders. Be glad if they don't decide to just drop a few bombs if they are at it.

So, this is my prototype easily editable political map, I just wanted to show it to you guys so you could see if you liked it before I continue. I have about a third of the world colored.

Fair enough, but it's still a decent AA defense for the tech we're using. And besides, I imagine not everyone would risk those odds if it wasn't a really dire situation.

Edit: Map's pretty cool. It's interesting seeing my nation from a new perspective. I look like Tin's tail :O

Yup, enough for a deterrent and percentages are a bit better if the air forces stay longer (unlike the V-1 which is pretty much a suicide bomb).
Kamikaze pilots against naval ships also suffered huge loses so the interception isn't particularly bad when somebody steers the vehicle straight for the AA defenses.

But well, after the invention of the atomic bomb nations literally could no longer allow even a single aircraft or cruise missile to pass through.
Seriously, imagine these percentages if the V1s were armed with something like the W7 nuclear warhead. London and most of Britain's important cities would've been history.

I like the political map. I also like that I am giant, red blob. There's something oddly satisfying about it.

And yes Hael, literally all your people are smashed together into the tail of a giant tin man. That is the extent of their lives, their only purpose in this world.

Hey, you can't talk to your loose allies like that! THIS MEANS WAR! WE WILL ATTACK FROM THE OILY BEHIND!

And at least I'm not taking ALL your oil away...VENTUS

EDIT: I have that one colony near the south pole.

@MihndarOn a different note, can we get to pick our nation's color?
I either choose the blue in my signature or this cyan green one.

@Mihndar

The only problem I have with that map is that I look at least 2/3rds the size of Ventium in the other, but in this map I'm a mini-nation. I was always small, but I feel like I just shrunk by at least half. Make me a little bigger, maybe?

Both to serve as an illustration and as part of my mission to put a map on every page of this thread:

EDIT: Put the wrong map. Fixed it.

Well I'm that giant, purple blob. So you better batter up, tin man.

It's already orange, isn't it?

Sure. I'll just copy the code for the second.

I will see what I can do about making your nation bigger, Hael. Time to take the clippers to Tin.

The blue one is probably a bit too close to Ventium's color so the cyan one will be probably preferable.

I'm cutting a bit more out of Tin, but keep in mind a lot of Tin and a lot of the northern nations is useless tundra, whereas you're near the equator and have a much higher percentage of usable land.

And I am that blue/cyan amoeba in the center, with vestiges in all directions.
It's funny how at first I imagined mine to be a "small" country.

Only the very apex of Tin could be having tundra-like conditions. And even that is seriously debatable.
The rest are desert, mediterranean/tropical or moderate climates.
