Suggestions on how the metroid should evolve? It's going to take a few weeks of IC time, so the Orks have time to recover from that shock.

I see there being either an aquatic route, or an Orkish route. Of course, I'm not entirely certain what would influence Metroid evolution. Gills might be handy.

I was considering an Orkish route, as I'm not exactly focusing on those metroids that are evolving a bit closer to home.

What would an Orkish route metroid do, though?

Orks are most notable for their toughness, link to the WAAAGH!, and..Reproduction? By the Emperor, metroids creating more metroids with spores would be totally terrifying..

Well, they'd evolve to counter the advantages of the Orks, so for a first stage, maybe a good route would be stronger and more pointed outer pincers so they could better crack armor, and possibly a mild psychic field that could partially disrupt their connection to the WAAAGH!, which can be increased as it further evolves. The thing about metroids is evolution doesn't make them take on aspects of what they absorb the life of, but makes them a more deadly predator for the environment they find themselves in. So anything that could possibly make them more effective against Orks is fair game, so long as it's achievable through biological means. Metroids cannot evolve technological aspects (Metroid Prime/Dark Samus excepted, of course).

Yes. It's very exciting, isn't it? I've recreated everything over here, including the current IC posts. So we can pick up from where we are. I've also learned that LeeRoy has dropped (for now, at least).
