Commander Ross sat at the head of a battle fleet currently cruising the Mas'tal system. "Lieutenant, are we cleared for warp drive?" A slender female officer sitting directly in front of Commander Ross checked the current status of the fleet. "All clear sir. Ready to..." She stopped speaking when an emergency frequency came through. "Sir, we just received a distress signal from a colonization planet in about one sector away. I'll play it on the intercom.

"Hello?.. an..on..there?..S.S we need immedia...evac...help us plea... (Indistinct screaming in the background)"

Commander Ross looked at his crew on deck. He didn't have to ask to know what they were thinking. They wanted him to send help, to the colony. He could not, however, spare a battleship, as his mission was vitally crucial for the mission at hand. He rested his head in his hand, he needed to do something in order to keep the trust and good will of his crew. But what could he... Commander Ross suddenly stood up, "Lieutenant, send Team Nova down to help the colonists."



Welcome! Anyone who was interested enough to click on this topic. If you read the small excerpt above, you can tell that this will be a sci-fi rescue mission. However, we have no idea what has happened or what is happening at the moment on that planet. Will you be brave enough to join Team Nova?

This seems like a nice way to satisfy my growing desire for some casual sci-fi.

wait, is it a military group, police force or private detective group? because it was the title that mislead me into thinking it was a PI or bounty hunter group and that was what caught my interest.

Well, lets just say that it is a private group of detectives (via mercenary work, bounty, ect.) that were traveling with the military fleet on a job. They are very famous and have not failed a mission yet.

Additional: Has a bionic arm and pack on his body. The pack holds all the essentials for Advanced First Aid. The arm contains a cauterizing laser, bone saw, and x-ray scanner, including other doctor tools.
Bio: Hero grew up in a hospital owned by his family. Since the age of 4, his dad has been teaching him medical knowledge, and having him watch surgical procedures. At the age of 14, Hero is still too young to join any group to become a professional doctor, he was however, accepted into the famed Team Nova as their Medic when he skillfully saved one of its members. During that mission however, Hero lost his left arm. Team Nova's lead mechanic and bionics expert created a special arm for him, complete with all medical essentials.

Note: Team Nova is a private unit, but they have many connections around the universe. As for race and special abilities, create your own if you want. You have the limit's of space to create your race. Just try to find an appropriate picture. Any extra abilities I will clear.

Race: Shadow Dancer

Specialty: Stealth

Race- Shadow Dancers- They are half man and half demon. They posses the ability to go in and out of the shadow world which is a dimension separate from ours, where demons live. Back in the Great War when demons came to our dimension some soldiers got a bit too friendly with their prisoners and created the Shadow Dancers. Shadow Dancers often look young for a long time and struggle to make friendship and relationships. Shadow Dancers also get symbols on their bodies that show what kind of demon they're a “spawn” of.

Appearance: Adrian has medium length light brown hair that he wears down to hide his shadow symbols that he has on his face. He's about 5'11 and he's skinny. Adrian has innocent looking gray eyes like the smooth inside of a pewter dish. He doesn't look like a Shadow Dancer at all, except you'd be mistaken if you don't take him as a threat.
Weapons: Standard Nova Team plasma gun, duel shadow blades, and his bare hands.

Strengths/Weaknesses: Very few Shadow Dancers can easily go between dimensions, and sadly Adrian is not one of them he can bring out shadow blades, which are barely visible to non Shadow Dancers and Demons easily though. These blades are like all other future swords, except they can drive who they hit crazy as it makes them have to see Demons when one of the blades touches their blood. As stated earlier it takes him time to get into the Demon World and it takes a lot of energy so he can't use it to stealthily sneak into places all the time, however he has learned to drop in and out opportunistically so he can use it for stealth. Adrian's also fairly weak.

History: Adrian's father was a drunkard solider and his mom was a well...demon, so he didn't have very many happy fun times with his family. He didn't enjoy hanging out with other kids so what he did for fun was sneak into places steal something and then sneak back in and return it. He loved the rush and although his father neglected Adrian with love he was dad of the year with bail money. Adrian was caught once sneaking into Nova team's headquarters and was then recruited since he got past most of their security. Nova team hired trainers that taught him how to use shadow swords and plasma guns.

Its likely the alien in her or implants that give her such eerie glowy eyes. When she gives you a stare, its strangely captivating. The team is mostly used to it by now.
Bio:
Giza's parents told her once she was named after long lost monuments on earth. Something Giza found hard to believe because the only semi-good thing that earth ever made was technology and even then she sometimes preferred to work with alien tech. As a kid she didn't get along well with her peers and she made her first friend at the age of 8 by mixing the personality AI from an old robot with a radio. Sure it wasn't the most complex build but it was the start of a decade of improvement. Soon after she made her first 'robot' she realized in the world of star travel, everyone needed a mechanic. So she worked and learned until she was 15 and found no one on her planet could teach her anymore. To be fair it was more of a moon than a planet and was settled to provide a fuel station for passing ships, most of whom had their own mechanics.
It was one day one of these mechanics decided her talents were wasted on toasters and cars and brought her aboard, she got lucky the captain agreed to take her along and she learned all she could from them and then moved on. She repeated the process several times, sure it was a bit cold hearted of her to just leave the people who had helped her but when she was finally ready to work on her own she was probably one of the best in the galaxy. That was when she met team nova a couple missions later he gave a kid a robot arm. If you ask her she's still a little upset about it because she doesn't really agree that the Medic should be a kid because after all he already lost an arm, she doesn't want to have to replace anything else on a 16 year old. She's also good friends with the lead detective, the main reason she was picked to join the group.
