Standing at about 5'5" Nina is about average height for a grown woman and has a rather slight build, largely because staying agile is what keeps her alive. Her long brown hair has a natural bit of curl to it however she typically wears it up in a high ponytail while on the road, she's a firm believer in keeping it out of her way. Her peachy complexion tans rather well, saving her from many a sunburn, but does not do much to hide her deep blushes and generally ruddy cheeks. Her skin is largely free of scars but interestingly enough she does have a few tattoos made with 'shimmer ink' which is basically enchanted to, well, shimmer once embedded in the skin. Since taking up traveling she wears a hodgepodge collection of leather armor to provide a bit of protection while letting her remain more agile. These pieces range in quality from the custom made chest piece to the bracers she found in the 'bargain bin' a few towns back, she tries not to think about how they got there. Under the armor she wears a lot of black fitted sweaters and brown traveler's pants, nothing fancy or particularly flashy. She's typically also wearing a travelers cloak as she will be the first to tell you, they can be very useful.
Backstory:
Nina's story starts with her parents, former guild members, and while Nina plays it down they were both pretty well known back their day. On top of that they both had a bit of magic in them, her father was notably good at enchantments. Nina reasonably inherited some of that, nothing particularly amazing or strong but she was magically gifted all the same. Beyond that Nina will be the first to tell you she doesn't take much after them.
As a child Nina spent a lot of time in the training studio her parents ran. It was during this time in her life that her own particular affinity for magic became apparent, she would take to making little light shows of shimmering lights for her parent's students. Simple flashy magic. Her parents assumed it was just evidence that she could grow to be a great battle-mage or something along those lines but as she grew Nina could barely learn to cast the most basic summoning spells, elemental spells were much the same. Eventualy with the help of some mages in town Nina was able to pursue the one thing she was good at, light and illusion spells.
While this could have led her life in a lot of different directions she found her trade in Gabir's budding entertainment industry, working her 'light' magic abilities for festivals, guild entertainment and more. While this did dissapoint her parents who hoped she would follow in their footsteps or go to a prestigious mage college, itfelt like her calling. As time went on she became better and better, went from being the light show for a singer or musician to entertaining audiences on her own. In her late teens she joined a traveling band of musicians and artisans to see the world. Little did she know she would largely be seeing run down taverns and backwater villages. After several years of this Nina got further and further away from home and it became harder and harder to leave. That was until one day she met a dog in a bar, Takahiro, an older honor bound warrior. After using a little illusion magic to hide him from an ambush he vowed on his life to protect her. Which some how led to him spending hours trying to convince her to 'pick up the sword' and live a life of 'honor.' Eventually after getting a headache from all his barking she agreed and at 26, which most will tell you is a little late in the game, she became an adventurer. Life was good and she was retooling her skills for 'battle' until a few months ago when she and Takahiro got separated on a job, unable to find him again and not even sure that he was still alive she took to wandering a little aimlessly, picking up odd jobs and spending too much money on booze.
Personality:
Nina is a pretty laid back person or at least she likes to seem that way. She has always been deeply compassionate and empathetic, if there is a way to walk away without anyone getting hurt, even if its not really the right thing to do that is what she generally prefers. She's fairly wise beyond her years, from her experience and naturally insightful mind. She can often recognize when there is no chance for negotiation as she's come to learn from adventuring there rarely is. Nina doesn't posses much of a temper herself, after working in show business you get used to all kinds of crazy people and getting angry at them does nothing but make it harder for 'the show to go on.' She's quite naturally a protector and takes a lot of responsibility for the well being of her team mates or partners, as such the loss Takahiro has been weighing very heavily on her. Since that particular incident she's given in to a lot of self doubt and self criticism, causing a much more cynical shift in her personality.
Skills:
Lighting: No matter where or how dark, Nina can provide illumination with a simple mage light. She can vary this in intensity and color as well as make multiple lights.
Light Show: What Nina used to be known for, beautiful displays of light in vibrant colors, shapes, and arrays. Known to be quite captivating, pairs well with music. She can also tell a few folklore stories by using her light to create simple figures resembling heroes and monsters from the myths and legends.
Discerning Eye: Having worked extensively with illusion and light magic she has some ability to see through illusion spells and other forms of magical disguise.
Budding Acrobat: Due to traveling with various performing artists she eventually learned a little bit about acrobatics. In the years after leaving the group shes been learning to apply that in a more practical sense, which largely makes her a pretty good climber.
Moves:
Blinding Light: Pretty straight forward, extremely bright light that can temporarily blind anyone who looks at it. She currently has no way to keep it from effecting friend and foe.
Illusionary Appearance: Nina can appear to shape shift into just about any creature or person she has seen before, this only lasts for a short period of time. This is not actual shape shifting and is merely an illusion spell.
Invisible Shot: With some focus Nina can make just about any singular projectile 'invisible.' This serves to make things that would otherwise be very noticeable or easy to block more effective
Light absorption: She can dim the light in small area around her, works best on artificial light.
Hard Light: She can take advantage of the particle property of light to solidify it, currently she can only make projectiles (I.E. arrows or bullets) however she has no way to shoot them without a weapon. This is one of her most tiring techniques and she must study weapon in depth to be able to make ammunition for it. She can currently make arrows that work for most bows, however if a bow is significantly customized in any way this will likely not work. Hard light and invisible shot can not be stacked.

-A Small Bag of Crystals: Nina has noticed that certain more translucent crystals and gemstones can amplify her powers and provide more dazzling effects but she hasn't really investigated much into it.
