Name
Neena Thurman (Domino)

Age
23

Alias
Domino

Appearance

Abilities
In addition to her exceptional marksmanship and hand-to-hand skills, Domino possesses mutant probability-altering powers, similar to those of the X-Man Longshot. Basically, she has luck on her side.

Personality
Tough, spunky, determined, and unafraid to get results. You could say that Domino is the border line ‘hero’ type that has questionable methods due to her upbringing. She’s very sociable, flirty, and aims to get what she wants no matter what.

Bio
Domino was born as a government-controlled experiment, a top-secret ‘breeding’ program if you will in the government’s attempt to create the perfect weapon. Out of all of the test subjects, Neena was the only one to survive but under closer examination her mutation power of having luck on her side was waved off as a failure, thus she was to be destroyed. With quick thinking, her biological mother broke Neena free from the underground facility and took her to the Church of the Sacred Heart in Chigago. Not at all finding this lifestyle ‘fitting’, Neena then ran away and became a mercenary. The pay was good and it got her off the streets, not to mention her ‘luck’ factor always seemed to come in handy when on the field. One of her first jobs was to stop "Operation: Jericho," which was a remote-controlled war bot project. Domino wrecked the robot, but in the process fried the mind of the soldier controlling it.

The older Neena got, the more comfortable in the mercenary life she became. At the age of eighteen, Neena began to found her own mercenary band now known as the Six Pack. She worked with the Six Pack for quite some time, getting into the bigger cash amounts and the higher living style. Their tactics were a bit ruthless, shooting down anyone who got in their way. It was her team, which was also known as the Wild Pack, that had gone on a mission in Germany and participated in a raid on a secret HYDRA base, which Domino led.

Immediately catching the interest of Director Nick Fury, Domino was scooped up by S.H.I.E.L.D where she quickly disbanded to work for the Six Pack and instead worked for S.H.I.E.L.D for a short while before Domino heard about Xavier’s school for the gifted. Though she was probably too old to be a student there as she was now twenty-three, her curiosity brought her to the school where she has been staying ever since with no intention to return to S.H.I.E.L.D since Fury has been replaced.

I believe the potential issue was time travel as a plot point (something Ruby and I are both a bit iffy on, but by no means is it banned) rather than the character not fitting in.

The main point to take from this discussion is no matter what Ruby and I may offer as an opinion, it will be 'very' obvious if we're banning a character, which as you can see, we haven't.

Of course. I'm not suggesting that you're outright banning characters and if there's a problem with the issue of time-travel then we can work something out. Perhaps a one way trip style travel? Another mutant power?

I'm open to suggestions on how to solve the issue rather than being simply told it's an issue. :)

"Using technology available to him in the future, Bishop constructs a time travel device. A device that, despite the technology of his future, can only provide a one-way trip to the past."

Solved. The bigger issue, and why we wince about time travel, is what happened to result in Bishop's future? Xavier's already dead. So it can't simply be that. Maybe...for some unknown reason, this team failed? Or, even better, maybe this team couldn't get to Fury in time to prevent HIS death? That'd work better for me, and will solve for me, the storyteller, how the team learns of Fury's detained location.

Please, let's NOT get started on temporal mechanics. I'm too much into time travel (hence why I like Bishop) and could probably write up an essay for you on how both the successful and the failed future exist at the same time.

As for the story, sure, you can use Bishop as a McGuffin. The original Bishop did grow up on the old stories of the "Legendary Team" of the X-Men. I cna't see why we can't tweak it a bit to include a team of both X-Men and Avengers, and of course, Bishop wouldn't be privy to every single event of the past, mostly just the large scale events (and even then, just brief summaries) and the main reason why he would be in a mutant concentration camp:the death of Fury.

Sounds fine to me.

Although I'm a casual fan of Physics, I thought time travel (theoretically speaking) isn't possible?

Jean, Danvers and Domino.

I'm beginning to sense Stark may have had an ulterior motive to calling this little meeting.

Eh, current consensus is travelling forwards in time is, travelling back isn't. Although, whether we will be able to unlock it is an entirely different matter. (Basically unlikely)

Awesome, I'll start drawing up a CS.

It depends entirely on your definition of "time travel" and the direction you wish to go in (forward or backward)

This is why I have to avoid Reddit's Physics section.

Because I'll forget to look up for twelve hours.

My second post was intended to be an intro to what became my third post.

Except the second post kept growing and growing until it became...well, my second post. It's mostly character development and a peek into Xavier's current climate. Don't care? Skip it.

The third post is long, but most of it's pure dialogue. It's Jean talking to the lawyer friend mentioned in the second post. It's important to the plot. Not much fluff or padding put in there at. all. And it's vital to understanding just where/how the Governments are putting our characters right now. If it seems like it's talking about US drone policy and it's kill list, it is. But this RP is inspired by that, and the very little leap it would take the US to go from legally executing terrorists to legally executing metahumans.

The legal logic is real, just with a fictional leap to metahumans and our team. And it's not a big leap, either. A direct link is made between the reality, and the fiction (one of the team already being on a US Hit List). Afterall, what is a Sentinel...but a drone?

Also in the third post it's revealed two MAIN antagonists: new SHIELD Director General Stryker, and US Senator Kelly. Both are mentioned, as is their role in the current plot.

So, yes. It's long. But read it, or else you'll find yourself a wee bit lost later. <3

It'll slow down. In the meantime, enjoy such a roster of talented writers taking on cool characters. =)
