@Willy Vereb

Speaking of snooty scumbags elves, can I have an embassy for Yllendthyr in my nation? This question goes to everyone actually, since having an ambassador to talk to would greatly change how Tin might do or react to things.

It goes without saying that KalMea would gladly plant an Ambassador in your nation

I can't see why not.
When it isn't about elven nobles being obsessed to show off how great they are, the leadership is pretty down to earth and reasonable.
Granted, I don't think anyone but a select few people can enter the Imperial Castle.
I have doubts even the leaders of other nations are allowed.
And seriously, that thing has to be part of our version on the Seven Wonders in the World.

Well a Tinite ambassador might not have to be in your palace. They could have their own embassy building somewhere else in the capital.

I'm going to send you a PM saying why you should have a Tinite embassy

New battle plan: If I end up in war with the elves, instead of using strategy and planning and all that crap, I'm going straight for the Imperial Castle.

Once the elves see how a glorious castle has been reduced to rubble, they will simply give up.

Oh, and if you do choose to have an embassy in Tin, do you want to control the ambassadors personally or should I?

I must control them personally, to ensure they represent KalMea correctly :D

But seriously, I would prefer to have the final say over what they say and do

The capital and the Imperial Castle are at two different places so it isn't an issue.
Aside from highly ceremonial occasions you'd only talk with the ministers or ambassadors from Yllendthyr.

Well, the thing is plated with first class Mithril.
Even if it's for purely aesthetical purposes it basically makes the castle kind of like a fortress.
Another thing to consider that the Imperial Castle is less of a castle and closer to a damn artificial mountain.
Its shine could be seen from even 100 miles away.

Understandable and honestly preferable for me as well. This way I can just post IC and let your ambassador reply rather than send a bunch of PMs to figure out what I should make the guy say in my own post.

4.5 paragraphs of description on the Imperial Castle then the Imperial Palace.
I have yet to write any dialogue.
I knew straying from my draft was the right choice.

Straying from the draft is very often the correct choice.

Sometimes you just have to, like, let your mind flow, man. Ya know?

Much better. More realistic, too, since the whole point of an ambassador is to represent their nation abroad; that seems more comparable to me controlling him/her

IMO, the whole point of ambassadors and diplomats in NRPs is to provide dialogue between nations without exerting much effort from the players.
Ambassadors of foreign nations controlled by anyone but the player who has the nation is even counterintuitive.

In the case of my ambassadors to you they will go to to great lengths to exert effort and show what Tin wants to show

With others it's just a person to go to to send letters, ask questions, etc.

I'm not opposed to our leaders personally talking to one another but realisticaly that doesn't happen the manority of the time.

Yup. It doesn't.
Meeting between ministers and such is more likely.
But a meeting between two rulers is usually only made when all the important discussions were made and they're making something official.
If I ever sign an alliance treaty with Avalia then of course my emperor will show up for the occasion.
Otherwise you either talk with my ambassadors, my ministers or people who are officially allowed to convey the message of the ministers.

I'm thinking of having the PRK propose a United Nations sort of organization after this great war we're about to have to facilitate diplomacy.

Similarly letters will probably be the preferred way to get in touch with the Tinites. Their tradition dictates that they bring a large amount of their retainers with them on official business (like to the coronation of Babur, if you noticed) so the ones of any importance to other nations probably have an army for an entourage.

Unless you're willing to house and feed anywhere from 500 to 100,000 soldiers, inviting a Tinite official of some sort over for a talk isn't a good idea.

I'd rather have a more neutral nation do this, because the fact that the PRK proposes/hosts it would probably make Tin and KalMea (maybe even others that dislike Communism) stay the hell away from this UN organization.

KalMea hates communism like the dark hates the light and a fish hates a hook.

BUT if this U.N. organization found itself gaining members and power than KalMea would certainly join as a way to improve relations with potential buyers foreign nations who have thus far avoided us due to our connections with Tin

EDIT: WOOP! WOOP! ONE-THOUSANDTH POST!
