yeah a magical system where you propell small pieces of metal into things works like too well to be real. GUNZ ARE MAGICS!

I'm guessing it's either already winter proper in the far north, based off of @Fat Boy Kyle's first IC post, and heading into winter in the southern areas like The Cross Roads or especially Southarbor, or else winter is coming to an end but in the far north (being that it is the far north) it's still hanging on.

I say that because IC descriptions of the North so far have tended to feature lots of snow and ice, while descriptions of The Cross Roads and other southerly areas have featured plenty of mud and wet, which implies "not winter".

But that's just me guessing. ;)

I imagine when we travel north, it won't matter if it's winter.

The only season they know there is 'cold as shit.'

Well, I spent some years living in Alaska during my 20's, and even up in Barrow (a town on the state's north coast), the ice recedes and it can get relatively comfortable in the summer (cuz the sun stays out all the time). In the more southerly regions of the state - particularly in the interior - it can climb to over 38C during mid-summer.

Given that we haven't been hearing about the sun staying up (or down) at all hours, we're either not that far north, or the world of POTN just doesn't follow the rules of physics that closely. Or it's spring or fall, at which times the day/night cycle works more or less normally.

So Lady Buxton and sir chester will be visiting all the rooms? Well that certainly makes things a hell of a lot easier :3

Just entering Winter.

  • In most of Vasili - Sunrise is currently around 8am and sunset is around 4pm
  • In the Tribal Lands - Sunrise is currently around 8.30am and sunset is around 3.30pm
  • In the Far North it varies (but as a rough guide) - Sunrise is currently around 9am and sunset is around 3pm

I hope that kind of follows physics, but I could be utterly wrong. Worst comes to the worst we can just use the good old excuse of "because magic."

Excellent! Just what I needed to know. As for physics, what you posted sounds close enough to me, and no one said that POTN had to follow physics in the first place (because magic).

Orwen, making enemies as quickly as a man can pick his nose! I truly wish he had a friend amongst these people, but sadly it doesn't seem like it.

hey magic has its own rules... though admitedly they vary and can be very shifty to suite every kind of situation! That being said, do they have some way to measure time? Sunwatches maybe? Or perhaps some kind of magical thingny that shows what time of the day it is?

Chester is fairly neutral to Orwen, he probably just finds him a bit pompous; but then he spends his time with royalty so he's use to that. He'll have a much higher distrust/disliking of Dawnish people and mages.

Ah, time to extort that then, so I can prolong his life. I mean, I need to have someone guarding me, or else Karen and Buxton will take his life.

That said, the insults people try to sling at Orwen are funny. I don't think he's one to care much for what's being said. :P Time to write a reply, now that I have a good counter argument to Buxton still fresh in my head.

ALSO! Sadly I think we must consider Torack AWOL. I mean, I want him to come back, but it doesn't seem like he will be. Maybe we can open up spots for someone else? I personally have atleast 2 people that were somewhat interested :)

Movement of the sun (e.g. noon, when the sun is highest, is probably around 12). Probably sundials and the like to. Maybe even magic/scrying? I imagine most people would be more worried about the amount of daylight left, rather than the specific time.

I suppose so. Also please excuse me if my replies are short and barely sensible... Im not feeling very well tonight and I still have 5 h remaining of nightshift. As such I expect I will get worse as time goes on

I actually changed his status to MIA in the character list a while back. I also let Centimane join because of his absence (it should have been 8 including myself). As much as I would love more people to join, I think it's probably for the best if we keep it somewhat restricted.

Not kicking Torack out just yet though, as it looks like he hasn't been on the guild fullstop. That normally suggests external problems that can't be helped and I wouldn't want to punish him for that. He was very invested before disappearing after all. Still, I suppose it does mean that I should open up his CO-GM spot...

FIGHT FOR MY LOVE!
