"So now we have a causality. Presumably less than 24 hours after we woke up, there is already a—"
"Look ahead."
"After I see where the next— ...Oh. My. God."

Sasha stared with disbelief at what she just saw: Alex at the end of the hallway alive.

"He survived that?!" she exclaimed. She froze in her position for a good five seconds before a taser singed the top of her head and she remembered to on keep moving before another taser would do something much, much more devastating.

"He lived, and not only that, he got to the end before any of us did. I wonder how Echo would react to that."
"What is this sorcery?! I honestly thought he was going to die! Not that I actually want him dead, but legit, an electric shock straight to the goddamn chest would've probably killed him either way you slice it! Even if it didn't kill him, he would've probably been knocked unconscious and would've either died by other means anyway! Plus, it would've been difficult for anyone to try to drag him out of this maze of sparks unless Echo is nice enough to turn the tasers off, which obviously won't happen."
"Well, now look, which one of us needs to calm down around here?"
"Shut up! We're talking about a guy who just survived a frapping taser to the chest! I mean, is this even real?! I'm not even going to be surprised that Echo reveals to have slipped hallucinogens in the vents or something. Maybe we did hallucinate Cinia float. But point is: Alex got a mother-frapping TASER. TO THE CHEST. AND SURVIVED."
"So, want to go see if he really is okay?"
"Goddamn straight I wanna see if he really is alright! I wanna see if he really did survive or if he actually did die and but got turned a zombie or something."

Sasha dashed past Cinia as she made her way through the rest of the tasers to meet up with Alex at the door.

"Alex, is that you? Is that seriously you? Are you actually here and alive?"

She put her hand over her face as she lowered her head down. For once, she let her impulses talk.

"I legitimately thought that you were going to die right then and there! The way that taser hit you looked so bad, I seriously thought there was nothing to be done, I thought there was nothing I could do, so I just went onwards, hoping to God that someone else would know how to take care of your situation while I try not to get hurt myself. I just—, I just—..."

She is now tearing up from the emotional pressure. Of course, this cannot be seen as her hand is over her eyes, and her forehead was facing and resting on the doorframe.

"I guess... what I'm trying to say is, are you okay? Like, are you legitimately okay? Like, how do I word this? Uhh... are you sure you're perfectly fine? That hit from that taser just looks so bad, I just wanted to see if you're alright... Are you hurt? Or in pain? There we go, that's what I'm trying to ask, 'are you in pain?' Are you in pain? Just, that shock looked really, really, really, painful and... you can figure out the rest.

She brushed the tears off her eyes and finally faced towards him.

"I'm just relived that you're at least alive. God only knows what I'd do when I found out that it's less than a day since I woke up here and I had to witness someone being killed mere metres away from me..."

She walked in front of Alex and offered her hand to help him up from the ground.

Noel stared at the hallway, almost with an unamused look. She then slowly brought up her hands and made a very, very slow clap, "Didn't see it coming, not surprised. What'd I tell ya." This was indeed unpredictable; that's how Noel considers it anyway. Witch and Wizard though... Noel's heard of it, never read it. But if it's by James Patterson it's probably good. Noel walked towards the hallway and stops at the point before where the hallway begins. She took a quick few second pause as she looked ahead at the hallway's surging sparks; Noel took a deep breath before walking in. She started off in a power walk for a good number of seconds, doing whatever movement needed to avoid getting shocked here and there. Instead of just rushing in, Noel wanted to take her time a little bit. Yet at the same time, she didn't want to be slow ether. It only took a loud enough crackle of electricity to get her jogging. Sooner or later, Noel sees Cinia up ahead...floating. Wait what? Noel's pace started to slow down as she kept her shocked but confused sight on Cinia. Noel vigorously rubbed her eyes to see if she was seeing things, but she sees Cinia floating again. Noel rubs her eyes again, and again, and again, rinse and repeat. Without knowing it Noel's pace was at the speed of a slow walk. Come on Noel, you may not be seeing things but you could be seeing things wrong, right? For all you know she could probably just be dodging those tasers like a boss very elegantly. A really elegant boss. Or maybe-- ZAP. Noel gets zapped on her left arm, making her jump and get back to moving quickly while clasping her hand to her arm. Dang it Noel! That was not the time to be thinking about elegance! You're not even a fan of elegance! Who are you anymore?! Ahem, Noel continues on. More of running now than jogging. Noel keeps looking forward and then sees Alex get hit by a taser. Noel would've tried to speed up and help him out since he was in her path, but she was too far behind Alex. That, and there's still some tasers around her to dodge, evade, et cetera. Although with a hit like that it was surprising to see Alex get up and take off like that, so all is good.

Vanessa had stayed back for a moment, watching the patterns of the tasers before finally moving, swift but not a full out run as to allow herself to watch to movement around her while she passed by the string of tasers where the dogs had been in the books. This scientist was probably just some girl playing with her dads things, but Vanessa wouldn't underestimate what she was capable of doing here; one of them had already exhibited symptoms of something very much not natural. The black haired girl passed one of the others that was lagging behind without a glance over at them while a taser shot out at her and she turned to the side to avoid it just enough that the one on the other side didn't hit her. The boy made it through first, just as the black haired girl passed the armless girl without much effort to find herself at the door where another taser flashed out nexpectedly and she just barely dodged it in time to duck through the entrance way. "Predictable."

Alex glanced at Sasha, surprised and a bit bewildered. She had struck him as the quiet type, but now she was babbling on and on like nobody's business.

"Um... I honestly don't know. This shirt is pretty thick, and..."

Glancing down, Alex saw that the taser had burned a clean hole the size of a dime through his shirt, unusually precise for a taser. It was then he saw the pendant.

It was a small gold ball on a chain around his neck. He took it off and saw that there was a hole in the ball where the taser had hit it. He realized that the pendant had stopped the worst of the blow, and the shockwave had knocked him of his feet.

"But where did it come from?" He wondered aloud. "Am I the only one with a pendant? Or do the others have one under their shirts too?

Even though the pendant had stopped the taser to his chest, the hit to his leg hadn't been blocked, and he suddenly realized how painful it was. With a gasp, Alex collapsed unconscious to the floor.

Cinia later jumped over the others and got to where the food was. "You guys always stop at the doors." Cinia said as she made a piece of bread float to her mouth, where she took a bite of it. "Anyone else want some?" She added as she broke the break into several pieces while it floated in mid air. Cinia didn't mind that the others looked at her weird now that she was making herself and other objects float, in fact she thought it was nice to be the center of attention. Cinia didn't really like Vanessa much due to her constant angry attitude, but Cinia decided that she would try her best from now on to make Vanessa chill out a bit.
