Noah collapsed against a steel girder as he stopped to rest on his way to the atrium. The sequence of events which he had witnessed were beyond his comprehension. What had started as a small war between the security and what Noah tell were the refugees became something much worse; a nightmare of sorts.

Noah shook the visceral imagery from his mind as he rounded the corner towards the elevator shaft. Sirens blared and the blood curling screams for tortured vault civilians could be heard from the bloodbath transpiring not far from where he was, and fear began to take over Noah. "Oh shit, oh shit, I'm next!" Noah panted as his speed picked up. He noticed someone else frantically trying to get the elevator to the next level. Noah could tell that whoever it was had yet to notice him sprinting towards what felt to him as an oasis.

"Hold up!" Noah yelled towards the figure, and felt his hopes slowly dwindle when the elevator door closed fully. He skidded to a stop, panting. "Damn it..." He whispered, about to stand, when the sound of snarling got closer. His eyes widened, and the boy flattened himself against the shadowy, blood-covered floor, just in time for a beast to run over his hiding spot, snarling and spitting as it lunged towards the currently-moving elevator. It slammed through the doors, grabbing onto the bottom of the elevator as it began making it's way up. Whoever was in there...was probably dead. Jesus...He stayed in this position for a few more minutes, eyes narrowed and looking out for anymore of those...of those things, when the sound of approaching footsteps sprung him into action. They certainly didn't sound like thethey belonged to humans, and he wasn't going to stand around and see who or what was there. He moved to stand, only to freeze as high-pitched snarling and grunting came from the elevator's torn entrance. One of those beasts fell past the door, and Noah slowly straightened his back, cautiously approaching the elevator shaft. Curiosity was taking ahold of him, despite the danger he could possibly be in. "The Hell...?" He whispered, looking down deeper into the shaft. The monster was still falling...and then, a massive splat. Bile rose in his throat, but he adjusted himself, glancing back into the dim Atrium, before glancing up the elevator shaft - where the torn elevator was still waiting for someone to call it down. "I wonder if that person's still up there." He muttered, pressing the 'Down' button.

The elevator didn't respond. "...Damn it."

_

Noah's arms were beginning to get sore, but he continued to climb the emergency elevator shaft's ladder, getting closer and closer to the broken-down elevator. As he got closer, the jagged hole began to get clearer, and the man was slightly astonished at the size of the opening. It was very wide- more than enough room for him to get through. Stopping just below the elevator, Noah breathed in, hands gripping the ladder rungs tighter and tighter, before he decided to just try it. "Screw it." He leaped off of the ladder, stomach dropping for the briefest of seconds...and then he felt his hand grip the jagged edges of the hole. Slowly, he pulled himself up, muscles tensing at the physical exertion. Finally, he fit his body through the hole, and the man released pent-up air as he fell against the elevator's floor...only, there were blood, and bodies, and guts...everywhere. "What the fu-"

Puke ripped from his throat before he can stop his gag reflex, and he vomited into the hole the beast had made, retching once or twice before the waterfall stopped flowing. Slowly wiping his mouth with the edge of his jumpsuit's sleeve, Noah stood up, making sure to avoid crushing a body beneath his maintenance boots. That chick from before was still there, staring at....Damn, the vault door was open!

"Leaving me behind wasn't very nice, y'know." He frowned, speaking up from behind the girl. Leaping over the hole, Noah walked out of the elevator, rolling his shoulders. "Mr. Bogeyman down there almost killed me." He couldn't really blame her, honestly. Despite the ease in which he snarked, the man's voice was slightly shaky - his brain hadn't got down processing all of this, just yet. He had began to turn around, only for the sound of a gun cocking to stop him in his movement. Noah slowly rubbed his eyes, before gazing into the rather dark Vault Entrance room. A guy, a tad familiar, was standing there, looking at them suspiciously, accompanied by a couple of others. He also had a gun.

"Well, shit. So, you guys opened the vault, right?" He spoke, trying not to look slightly cautious of the gun that, while not aimed at them, was being held in a vaguely threatening manner.

Elijah ignored the kid who obviously wasn't as intelligent as the rest of the group. He was doubtful that he would even understand him if he gave his reasoning. He saw a few people taking the bags. "No I didn't run into any other people. Hell I probably would've died if I didn't get out of the security office fast enough." Elijah said. After replying to her, the vault door started to open. "Well here goes nothing guys from one death trap to another." He said trying to being witty. Once the vault door was fully opened he made his ways outside with the rest of the group. The tunnel leading to the outside was dark and had a very earth like smell. laying around were a few remains of people who tried to get into but didn't make it either because they were late or because something else happened. As he stepped outside the first thing he saw was a giant light since he hadn't had time to adjust his eyes. After a few moments of blinding light he saw the wasteland. "It does have a nice look to it. Makes you wanna explore and search every nook and cranny just to see what you can find ya know?" Elijah said to the group.

Elijah heard one of the group members talk about seeing a few houses or something further out. "Good idea we should get our bearing first then take a look." After he finished speaking a song started playing looking around it came from the guy who spoke to him earlier about stealing. Thats actually a good idea. Hopefully somebody will be on the air and we can get a idea of whats happening in the wastes. Elijah found a small rock looking into the wasteland to sit on. For now he would just chill and wait for the others.

Oscar made it to the top of the maintenance shaft and he discovered that the maintenance shaft door at the top was open. Despite being exhausted from the climb, Oscar continued on towards the vault door. As Oscar was on his way, he heard the scrapping and groaning coming from the door. Oscar thought to himself "Hmph, someone beat me to it. Anyway, it means that there are people who want out too." As he got to the door, he saw some people walk out of the vault. Despite his body screaming at him to stop and rest, Oscar said in a low voice " I am not resting until I am out of this god forsaken coffin that many call home." Oscar proceeded outside. He was blind for a while due to the sun's bright rays. As soon as Oscar saw again, the first thing he noticed the wasteland. It was exactly how his grandfather described. This made Oscar cry loudly. His determination and shock in the moment of getting out had turned into grief. He lost the only family he knew in front of him. He gather himself while still looking quite saddened. He walk up the group that were standing outside of the vault door. While taking a seat by them, Oscar said in a saddened voice" hello. It seems that I am not the only one who wanted out." Then he noticed how armed they were. " it seems that you guys fought your ways out. Hope it was not too difficult."

Jackdaw felt his spirits lift - if only slightly - when the massive steel door of the Vault's entrance, and exit, opened with the loud, rustic sounds of decades-old metal grinding against each other. From his position at the far wall, he watched as the others went through the opening after staring for a little while. This...this was it. He was about to leave his 'home' for the past nineteen years, and venture into an unknown, decrepit world that his father had warned, and told him about countless times. Radiation, the man had said.

Raiders, killers, murderers...rapists. Mutated beasts. But what option did they have? He'd take freedom and death other discrimination and torture any day of the week. If he died out there...then, at least he'd die where his father had once lived. At least he'd die a free man, rather than stuck in some cold, stifling vault filled with shit memories and mutated, human-eating beasts. The man felt his dry throat constrict, but it wasn't from sadness or tears. It was from the fear of the unknown, and the pleasure of venturing into said unknown. This was it. He began to straighten up, turning towards the cave that would lead him into the outside world, when the sound of the elevator 'dinging' alerted him to more entrees. Shit...he had let his guard down.

"Leaving me behind wasn't very nice, y'know." A voice, male, spoke up, and as his eyes focused, Jackdaw could see a blonde female and a messy-haired guy. "Mr. Bogeyman down there almost killed me."

Jack narrowed his eyes, and his grip on his gun tightened. The guy noticed Jackdaw quickly, and commented on the Vault doors opening. He was most-likely a survivor, himself. Him and that girl. 'More must be coming.' Jack thought, relaxing his tense stature, but keeping his pistol gripped in his hands, his finger resting on the trigger. "Yeah, this place isn't safe. We're headin' out." Jack spoke up, giving the girl and the guy a once over. The male had the greasy and dirty jumpsuit that he recognized - that of a maintenance man, and the girl had a pristine white labcoat...well, formerly pristine. Now, it had blood and dirt stains, obvious from all of this death. A medic, maybe? Well, regardless, if they were leaving, they could. "I won't stop you from leaving." His piece said, Jackdaw turned back to the entrance, beginning to walk forward, when, once more, someone else entered. Two, actually. One...crawling, and the other heading straight out. Jack began to feel a tad threatened with so many people around, and he needed to get out of the stifling entrance. With one more glance towards the girl and boy by the elevator, he exited the Vault...forever, hopefully.

The glare of the sunlight was shocking, but, surprisingly, he dealt with it quite well, bringing an arm up to lessen the glare until it was only a minor inconvenience. The group was herding around the door, apparently discussing plans. 'Let's see here...' Jackdaw walked a bit aways from the others, leaning against a large rock that was melded into the mountainside the Vault was built into. He brought up his Pip-Boy, noting the lack of Vault Radio, and the added radio stations. Turning the volume down a bit to a low hum, but loud enough for him to hear anyone, Jack began going over a few things - More specifically, he spoke into his his Audio Log.

"Exited the vault..." He narrowed his eyes towards the signs in the distance, before straightening, marking his current location on the Pip-Boy's map function. It was promptly labeled as 'Vault 24'. The man jumped down the small ridge that they were all perched on, dust billowing around his boots. He walked over to the signs. They weren't too far away. "Two signs a bit ahead of the vault's entrance. Says 'Colorado Springs', and 'Denver'." He touched the sign...it was warm, and felt rough underneath his calloused fingertips. He didn't know which way to begin moving;; Both names were unfamiliar, and his dad didn't mention any specific cities. 'Colorado Springs' had a pretty safe-sounding name, but that didn't mean anything.

Jack's low, rough tone began once more, speaking into the Pip-Boy's voice activating system. "I don't know which way to go...but I don't really have any options. Getting to a safe place sounds about right. I want to think on what I'm going to be doing out here." Clicking the audio recorder off, he went over his actions. Oddly enough, he felt as if he was taking this all in too quickly...being too calm, too swift in his actions. Maybe it was adrenaline, or his mind going into survivor mode? Regardless, whatever it was, it was going down, and his nerves were beginning to act up. Jack had never really been a soft, kind-hearted, and 'zen' kind of guy. Rather, he was a bit rough, rebellious, and didn't like people talking shit to him. He dealt with dangerous situations well, however...maybe that'd work here.

He frowned, breathing in the dusty air of the Wasteland.

It didn't feel too bad.

The consensus of the Vault Dwellers that left the Vault was two things: awe at the Wasteland and a need to find new shelter. The only landmarks that stood out to Matthew were the buildings in the distance and the road signs. Denver and Colorado Springs, and then the buildings. Why the fuck are you thinking about buildings? You just got out of the Vault. See if everyone is okay, Matthew thought to himself. Everyone looked a little battered, some worse than others. Johnny was on the ground, barely talking. Whatever happened to him was far worse than what happened to the rest of the group. Matthew slowly made his way past the others and over to Johnny. Reaching down, he grabbed him up and helped get him to his feet. "We gotta get him somewhere to rest. All I know is this isn't the place" Matthew said. There were many viable options of places to go and Matthew did not know which would be the best.

"I agree with Jack. We need to get somewhere safe is all I know at this point" he spoke softly. Matthew decided to take another look around the area. He leaned Johnny up against a nearby wall of rock, and then started walking away from the cave entrance. It was hot. It was dry. It was sunny. Matthew did not stare directly into the sun but he marveled at it. His whole life he had known no other light than the UV lights and regular lights down in the Vault. Matthew knelt down and gathered a handful of sand. He watched as it slowly fell, many grains at a time, through his fingers and back onto the ground. When he reached down to do it again his hand caught something of interest, a small metal tube. He brought it up into the light and held it in front of his face. It was had a bronze hue to it. A heavy dent covered one side. After a brief examination, Matthew came to the conclusion that it was lipstick or something like that. He popped open the top and started to turn the bottom. A finger fell out of the tube. When the finger fell, Matthew tossed the tube away and stood up very quickly. "Fuck" he said, shivering. This was a great first impression of the Wasteland.

"Okay guys. Where should we go? What should we do?"

"Well never would finger this place as a bad place to start." She said. She tried to be funny to brighten the mood. She was a little touched that Johnny was relieved she was alright. Then again he always was a ladies man. He was infact the only one who was nice to her in the vault. Well the nicest of her classmates anyways. "Thanks for worrying,..." She said in hia direction. If she had some stimpacks or med ex she would give him some. However, she was no docter. They were joined by a docter though. Perhaps she could help him. Once, they were better situated.

She moved to help Mathew help Johnny along. She did not know what she could really do to help, but she would try her best. Then the question was popped. Where now?.... She looked about the question rolling over her mind over and over again. "Perhaps we should go towards those buildings?... Maybe on the way we will find some shelter along the way?" She suggested.

Jerry stared for a moment at the sign, trying quite hard to read it. No matter how he dried, he couldn't quite sound out the words. They were to big, and different from the words he knew. But, the more he looked at them, the more he realized one very important thing, that none of the others seemed to.

"This am old sign. Maybe they not really go anywhere no more?" It was a legitimate idea, worth considering. A considerable amount of time HAD passed since these signs had been made, and if there was really anything left of where they once lead, would it be worth a visit? "Me think we go... That way," Jerry pointed straight ahead. "It am easier to get back. Also..." Another brilliant idea snuck into his mind. "Maybe we split up? Lot of bright blue suits maybe attract more scary monsters. Fewer bright blue suits means less monsters."

As Johnny was lent up against a rock wall with the help of mat and Osaki he glanced down to his pipboy, dropping his mangled shotgun to the ground, the barrel bouncing up a bit off of a rock and leaning against his leg. As the weapon settled on the ground he'd drop his wrench as well, the massive thing just barely missing his foot, a real toe crushing danger right there. he had to focus on words, not the words of the song he was playing through his pipboy's larger than normal speakers, but to the words everyone else was saying. The ringing in his ears just wouldn't go away completely. That annoying white noise just lingered and lingered and lingered. They spoke about finding shelter, that much he gathered, there were two options from what he could put together . Pulling his pipboy up so he could look at it he'd struggle to get his other arm up as well so he could turn the nobs and dials, though once he did he'd flip from the map to the radio. Moving a bit he'd try and determine which way the signal was strongest, flipping through various radio stations as he did, trying to get an idea for what was out there. Due to his pipboy's modifications he could detect radio signals a bit further out than the others could, and that helped some. "Need more parts... if I had more I could boost our range. Boost our" and then he lost his train of thought. That throbbing came back with a vengeance in his head and his sides screamed in protest at him as he turned a bit more than he should trying to find a radio signal that was stronger than the rest.

Settling himself back against the wall he'd close his eyes, squeezing them shut as if to silence the white noise in his head. Was getting harder and harder to focus. "Found some... someth.something. yeah found. what did I find?" His arms falling to his sides as he glanced to his pipboy. "Found strong radio signals. Can follow them, find" and then Jerry had his moment of brilliance which murdered Johnny's train of thought. "Jerry.... it's scary how perceptive you can be sometimes... "

Seems that everyone was to preoccupied to care about her. Still at least she wouldn't be alone even if they didn't listen to her. It was a bit disappointing that their wasn't a spare gun but then again it could be worse at least they had some. The only reason she wanted one was so she could take care of herself but if their weren't enough to go around it was probably better to have their best armed with what little they had. Ruth decided to pick up a bag that looked in alright shape as she didn't want it splitting open. Looking through her bag it was pretty basic stuff.

After a few minutes their was a very load noise followed by a beam of light. The vaults door had been opened and their was a warm breeze coming from outside. Ruth decided to walk slowly towards the exit gradually getting used to the Suns brightness. Once outside she scanned the horizon looking at what was left of the world. All she saw was dusty wrecks from a much better time. "Dead in the vault or dead outside the vault" Ruth muttered to herself wondering how they could live outside. The only thing that kept her going was knowing that the refs who came to the vault managed to make life for themselves out here and their blood flowed in her veins.

Ruth just stood silently not sure what to do or say. It was only when people started talking about what they should do and were they should go. The general consensus seemed to be that they should find some shelter which she agreed was a good start. She heard Jerry mention about splitting into smaller teams which seemed like a terrible idea as it would be easier for people or some irradiated monster to pick them off one by one. Another boy spoke up she thought his name was John or something similar and he mentioned picking up radio signals which might be promising as it showed people were living out here but then again the signals might be trap used to lure in unsuspecting travellers. Ruth believed she had to make her voice heard and tell them her opinion "well I agree we should all head in the direction of those buildings otherwise we will die without shelter. Also it's no good us splitting up otherwise we're just a bunch a small easy targets and it's much safer in numbers. Another thing we can't be to trusting around any of these waste landers as they are desperate for any supplies. Lastly I think we need a leader so we can have a representative for when we do meet people so we can send one person to talk to them on behalf of the group". Ruth let out a huge breath after that long speech she just gave. After getting her breath back she was slightly red feeling a bit embarrassed as she never was one for public speaking.

"Leaving me behind wasn't very nice, y'know." said the stranger, making Jolene jump for the umpteenth time today. "Mr. Bogeyman down there almost killed me." he continued, referring to the mutant that had just plummeted to its death, moments ago. Jolene felt ashamed at having basically left a person to die at least twice today. His voice seemed slightly tremulous, showing the intense stress that everyone in the vault was feeling. Jolene was about to apologise when the sound of a gun cocking interrupted her, prompting her to turn, facing the Vault enterance where the noise had came from. A small group stood opposite them, each of them somewhat recognisable, with one in particular holding the gun, albeit not aimed at either Jolene or the guilt-tripping newcomer. "Yeah, this place isn't safe. We're headin' out." he finally stated. "I won't stop you from leaving." he mentioned, before turning back to the Vault door, only for two more new arrivals to suddenly show up - with one of them bizarrely crawling on all fours.

Jolene faced her messy haired companion and voiced her concern "We should leave before more of those things realise there's no one left and decide to climb up the elevator." With one more glance towards her new companion, she followed the other four men out of the vault, leaving behind everything that she ever knew. Her parents...she had already saw her father die, all those years ago, and her mother had passed not too long ago. It was hard, so very hard to cope, but for now, she had to push all of that to the back of her mind. Tears welled in her eyes, but Jolene attempted to put on a professional facade, exiting the dry wooden door after the others. The blaring of the sun certainly slapped her in the face like a strong hand, but it only affected her one visible eye - she covered that with the back of her hand, carefully glancing around at the others. She didn't know them, having been a year ahead of them all in school, but some of them were familiar. The large guy, for instance; she often tutored him whenever she had time, per his parent's request. His name was Jerry a... nice guy. The others, she didn't know all that much. However, her eye was immediately drawn to the guy leaning against the side of the cave - the one that had been crawling. "Oh no..." She whispered, rushing over to the man. Her first-aid kit was immediately slapped open, and Jolene glanced at the others. "Do any of you know what happened to him?" Now that things were calming down, she could finally focus on the thing she was actually good at, before her emotions spilled over. Her voice remained calm and steady, professional...like a real medic, she hoped.

As the small girl started ranting about what they needed to do, Jolene glanced over to her, her right eyebrow raising slightly. "I believe that we should get somewhere I can treat this guy better. I also believe that..." She peered closer, before turning back to injured guy, taking out one of the eight Stimpacks from her kit, "A 'leader' isn't necessary at this moment. Sending one person out to talk seems foolhardy, considering we don't know how violent these, uh...Wasters are." Having said this, Jolene then lightly flicked the needle edge of the Stimpack with her finger, experimentally sending some liquid flying through the air.

Jackdaw Missouri
Near the Vault Entrance
Tagged;; Everyone

Jackdaw listened to the others with half an ear, whilst he busied himself with making sure that his equipment was stable. Regardless of what they chose, he already had his plans - those buildings in the distance sure was interesting, and they'd probably hold some very valuable information for seeing what was going on in this Wasteland. True, diving themselves up would make them smaller targets, but, from what he saw, the others weren't really made for...well, conflict, he felt like. There wasn't any arrogance to the thought - he was just going off of what he knew of the others at this exact moment. The red-haired girl, the thug, seemed pretty good with what she got, and the large guy was notorious for being very strong in the Vault - other than his retardation. Maybe they'd be useful, but he didn't really know. Whether they stayed together or not, Jack had absolutely no thoughts on dying out here. He had finally left the vault, and if his dad could survive out here with a pregnant wife, then he'd do the exact same thing. The man had left him some audio-recordings in his Pip-Boy, not mentioning anything specific about escaping the vault, but just giving him stories about the outside world.

Since the audio recordings were made for him to sleep, back when he was younger, they didn't give out every gritty detail...but maybe, once he found a safe place, he could listen to them and see if there was any useful information within the messages. If there wasn't...well, at least he'd tried. Coming back into the 'real-world', Jack looked down, noticing that he was sitting on a flat rock, his assault rifle's magazine lying on the ground beside him. Slipping the loaded clip into the gun's chamber, Jack slung the weapon over his backpack, while grabbing his 10mm pistol from where it had been sitting beisde him. His mind was made up. It'd be a bit dangerous, for sure, moving down the road with the sun blaring all around him, but at least he'd be moving on. Staying by the vault seemed more and more stupid, especially with those shitty monsters killing every child and mother inside. Damn...

"I'm headin' to the buildings out there." Jack spoke up to the others, for the first time this entire day. He mentally wondered if he should just leave it at that...but there were some useful people in this group, and leaving them seemed pretty stupid. Not to mention, he couldn't just leave them all behind without having a very guilty conscience. That thought didn't even cross his mind. He began talking again, peering over at the others, before looking out at the buildings. Dust and sand blew over his eyes, and the man squinted slightly. "You can come if you want. I want to see if there's anything useful, like a map or some information. Maybe normal people. " He walked up to the broken, cobblestone road, his sidearm gripped in both hands. Jack glared through the dusty air, looking for any signs of hostile people, any mutated beasts, any of those evil, drug-addicted raiders his dad had told him about, all those years ago. It seemed pretty clear. Jack glanced back at the others.

"Better to act than wait, right?" At least, to him, it seemed that way. The man waited for responses, while keeping his eyes peeled for anyone or anything approaching. if they declined, then Hell, he'd go by himself - no skin off his bones. But, if they came with him, then that'd be a bit better. Safer, too. However, for some reason, he felt like he'd regret speaking up...like some jackass would piss him off a few minutes after they set out, and things would escalate. That'd probably be his paranoia speaking, though. The least he could do was be patient and hopefully nice. His calmness was still winning out, so hopefully it was still there while he was with these people. He didn't really wanna snap at them and get guns shoved in his face. Then, he'd have to kill more people, and he didn't really feel like dealing with that guilty feeling.

Oscar stood up. He is still tired from his climb but judging from the stories and looks from the wasteland, it is either live or die. It is a brutal way of thinking Oscar thought to himself. "I will come. I think getting some food is not a bad idea. " Oscar said to Jack. " It is also safer in numbers" Oscar needs to focus something else in an attempt to forget. Oscar is not only going to look for food. Any tools, tech, backpack maybe. Who knows. Anything can be helpful. "Let's start moving before it gets dark. We need shelter and a fire." Oscar said to the group " Who knows how to make a fire?" Oscar hopes that these young adults have what it takes to survive out here in the wastelands. Only time will tell.

Well it seemed that Jack had made up his mind on where they should go. The buildings nearby. That seemed like a fair enough idea to Matthew. Jerry, who Matthew remembered was a bit deficient, had also made a decent point. He said that the signs may lead to places that did not exist anymore. Jerry was quite observant in that situation, which surprised Matthew. But he had a point and Matthew was glad that Jack had made the decision to head to the nearby buildings. Those buildings were visible and probably less than a half hours walk away from where they were currently located. They looked simple enough. From where Matthew was standing, he could see a total of four buildings and all of them looked to be multiple stories. One of them was in pretty bad shape with a huge portion of it blown away. The other three looked a little battered, but from what Matthew could tell, they would offer sufficient shelter, for now. The sun was bearing down hard on the group. Matthew looked at his Pipboy to check the time. It's only 4, he thought. Just less than an hour ago he was finishing up school. Now he was standing at the precipice of a whole new life. The thought of the Vault made Matthew's stomach churn and so he bent over, feeling as if he would vomit again. Instead he just spat a couple of times and took some deep breaths. "I need some water" he said. The statement was kind of a mix of to himself and to the group. Undoubtedly, they needed water too. Matthew simply walked towards Jack. "Let's go".

Osaki heard the plan, they would stick together and head for those buildings. She looked to Johnny and Jolene. "Perhaps if we can get him to those buildings over there?" She asked. She prepared to help Johnny move and waited for them to respond. The stimpack might help him make it there. He was suffering from a concussion as well ,so they would likely need dome med-ex to help him with that. Another point was that those who were not armed needed to be. She wished she had taken more from those bodies in the vault.

"Perhaps we can find better weapons too, or more weapons anyways. A good number of us are not armed and perhaps it would be better if they were." Then again she herself wasn't all that skilled with guns either. She knew how to use them, she just was no expert. She sighed and looked to Johnny. "First lets get you moving again."

She was happy that they didnt follow Jerry's suggestion of splitting up. It would be like a death sentence for some of them. She knew she would be screwed thats for sure. Especially when Jolene was their only doctor right now.

A girl on each arm figuratively speaking. had this been any other day this would have been a textbook good day for Johnny, would be one of those great days to dedicate a holotape to.... yet today was not a good day for johnny, it was a shit day, also worthy of holotape but he didn't have any to spare. ok he had plenty of holotapes but those were for important things like music not overwriting and bitching how he felt horrid. hell if he had the clarity of mind he would have commented on the girls and given them proper compliments, but well. his mind was a white noise factory working on overtime. baseball bat to the head, arm, hip, and leg will do that to a man you see... do that to anyone to be brutally honest. But johnny's ears weren't just picking up nothing but white noise, he did hear Osaki's words of concern about weapons. looking down to his disguarded shotgun he'd nudge his foot to the side, kicking it out a bit in front of his foot so he could step on the butstock just so, causing it to stand at attention a bit making it easier to nab. snagging the beat up shotgun with his arm he'd flip it around, break the top open and remove the two shell casings. placing the thing between his legs he'd clamp it there for stability while he moved his hand to grab two more shells from his pockets and load the weapon. snapping it shut he'd turn his attention to fixing it up some. pulling his tool box around to his front with the strap he'd crack it open carefully. snagging some wonderglue, duck tape, and some scrap metal before closing the tool kit up for the moment. he'd layer on the wonderglue to some scrap metal before sticking it along the barrel of the weapon to reinforce the damaged areas before wrapping it up with a layer of ductape just to be sure. with that done he'd wrap the stock with a bit of tape as well, just to make sure the thing was good to go. tucking the items back into the tool kit after straining himself with the repair job he'd look over to give Osaki a bit of a smile as he'd offer the shotgun to her so she could defend herself. that's when he had to see it. now of all times he had to see that needle from the stimpack.

"n... no lol.. no lolly pop doc?" he'd ask, trying to get a laugh out but the pain that prompted from his ribs soon told jack fairly clearly to not do that, that the whole laughing thing was an extremely bad idea. all said and done though the woman did have a stimpack. wondrous things those. just a few could get a person back on their feet even after some seriously grievous wounds. the technology used to create them thankfully wasn't lost during the great war and they were so easy to use, well an idiot who had been blindfolded could still use one.

Elijah just chilling for a few minutes going through everything that happened. "Fuck this is going to be hell." He said softly. He sat there listening to what other people were saying. Seems like jackdaw wanted to head to those buildings. Jerry wanted the group to split up but that idea wouldn't work since the group had wounded people. Elijah stood up. He looked at all the people. Elijah noticed that the group had wounded people which would slow them down quite a bit. He turned towards jackdaw "Hey if we go as a group well have to be at a slow pace since we have wounded." Elijah said to the group. Elijah bent over and lifted his submachine gun from the ground, once it was in his hand he took a quick look at it making sure nothing was broken or bent. With that he walked towards the group gathered near jackdaw. "So any specific plan on if there are people there?" He asked.

Jerry heard the suggestions of the group, many of which had agreed with his point that the signs likely were outdated. This am good, thought Jerry to himself, they not stupid dumb-dumbs. However, many of the others seemed to disagree with his idea of splitting up, on account of there were wounded, and to prevent anybody from getting lost. Jerry hadn't thought about it, but he had been wounded in the fight... Oh well. He hadn't really been paying attention to that at all, being too busy listening to the music from his Pip-Boy and the suggestions from the group.

"Okay, we visit broke buildings," Jerry asserted himself as a bit of an authority, trying to make sure the others followed behind him. "I go first, because am the biggest." It was true. He was the biggest. And so, with a sort of assured confidence in his step, Jerry marched forwards towards the ruins, police baton in hand, passing Jack who awaited the movement of the group. As Jerry reached the buildings, he began his subtle method of threat detection:
"HELLO? AM ANYONE THERE?"

The sand from the ground had found its way into the boots that covered Matthew's feet. It was an annoying feeling as well as a new one. He had never had sand in his shoe before, now he did. It was only a few grains anyway, nothing to complain about. The buildings off in the distance grew closer and closer. The road was paved but very damaged and ruined looking. Some road signs lined the side of the road but their message had long since been removed by Nuclear blasts, weather, or any other number of destructive forces that took over during the past two hundred-some years. Eventually the buildings came very close. Matthew could make out almost every detail of the small amount of buildings that were in front of him. They looked like old fashioned houses with one building, a little further off, that read "Gas Station". The group that had followed, Matthew had not checked to see if everyone followed but he assumed they had, was now coming up on the buildings. As they came within reach, Matthew stuck his hand out and let his fingers caress the siding of the house. Another new feeling.

Jerry had decided to enter the first house. Matthew followed close behind. The door, still mostly intact, made a loud creaking noise as it was opened. And then Jerry spoke. Very quickly Matthew realized that that might not have been the best of ideas. So he made his way in front of Jerry, and then raised the rifle into the air. It felt awkward in his grip. Today was the first time he had ever held a firearm of any kind. It did not feel natural. But still, he needed it for protection, he guessed. "Maybe we should not just go willy-nilly asking if anyone is here?" He suggested in question form. The house had two stories and another staircase that went downstairs. From where he was standing, Matthew could see a kitchen. He quickly made his way over there and found the faucet. The handle to turn the water on was rusted and old. Still, Matthew twisted it and instantly his Pipboy started making a clicking noise. Matthew had never heard that noise come from his Pipboy before, so he did not know what it was. Matthew paid no mind to it and cupped some of the water in his hand. He took a quick drink but spat most of it out. The water tasted very metallic and disgusting. For a few seconds he thought about whether or not he should suck it up and drink more, he decided he would try again later.

As Osaki followed, helping Johnny along the way. She saw writing on a sign. More like graffiti. It simply just said. "Fuck You"... She rose a brow and looked to Johnny. "Wonder who put that there and why?" She asked. She kept looking back towards the vault waiting to see if there was anything coming out. She hoped one of those things did not follow them. They seemed to come across a house to which Jerry advertised their presence. "Note to self,... Don't let the mentally challenged take the lead and broadcast to the whole area where we are at." She said. She saw a couch and looked to Johnny once more. "There is a place you can sit.." She said.

It was a terrible feeling having sand between ones feet. It was unbelievable that people used to go on holiday to places with sand. Closer up the buildings looked even more decrepit. Still their might be something of worth left in these buildings and at least their would be somewhere to rest. She felt sorry for Osaki who had carried John all the way here. Next time they had to move she would offer her a helping hand but for now Ruth had to check out what was in these buildings. She wasn't worried of letting their mentally challenged muscle go first as he would take the brunt of any attack and was the one most likely to survive. Hell he could probably take a bullet to the head as he didn't need much of a brain. Ruth started rummaging through some things she found only some empty cans and general trash.
