But I see comments that people are American and saying shit like " The only just war our country took part in was the revolution." and "240 years are killing people and America right now is becoming a Nazi state. there is no freedom in America. i am not proud to be a American, because this country is based of stealing people's land and killing them. and we broke away from the UK for " freedom of religion" yet the government says you cant have your religion to or it " is mean to people".

And I know that a lot of them are saying this just to flame and cause argument and hate and shit, but goddammit if it doesn't fucking piss me off when some fucking idiot comes along and says "I'm not proud to be an American."

Don't let it piss you off. I gave up a leg and the better years of my life to make sure they could talk that shit as much as they want.

As an american, I think the US has a lot of issues.

That said, I'm damn well much better off than a lot of other people can claim to be. All the doomsday talk about the US taking all our rights and in the end, we're still here bitching about it.

When the government can shut down people for saying stupid things, I'll take a closer eye, but for now, I leave it to more intelligent folks to dissuade blatant myths.

I think the point is that the issue is leadership, and the soldiers themselves are stuck in the middle. Iraq was a shitty war fought for shitty reasons, but that reflects way more on the government and the attitude of the American voter than it does the soldiers stuck in the middle of the thing.

Though ones who act on their own to massacre civilians are evil motherfuckers. Fuck those guys.

When it comes to the country in general... we got a lot of blood on our hands, and I would rather see people get melodramatic about it than pretend that America can do no wrong, but... it could have been a lot worse. Our best quality is the fact we grow disgusted in our own Imperium so quickly, and that people like Dick Cheney don't get romanticized like they would have in most historical Empires. I'm looking at you Britain, with your cute poems about machine gunning down all the natives.

On the other hand, we don't have national healthcare... that is a pretty embarrassing blot on our honor.

Mine was different from what you'll probably see, because I went through the Air Force Academy and it's mostly run by upperclassmen there with just a few real actual boot sergeants roaming around. It was physically tough no matter what kind of shape you're in, and they play mind-games on you nonstop, but nothing there will kill you. If you go all-in and keep that attitude you'll do fine. Be a team player, they love that shit.
