Sound and Fury
A PvP Survival Roleplay. A battle of alliance, betrayal, deception, and murder. Try your best to make it out alive.
Int. Check

Now then, let’s get into the meat of how this is gonna work.

A lot of what’s above might seem more complex than it is (the posting system, while its description is long-winded, isn't very complex at all), so if you want me to explain something more succinctly or if you have any questions, by all means, ask.

You can kill other characters without their RPer’s permission because this is PvP, though.

I found this part quite bothersome. Does this mean people can stealthily kill other players? Even while the actual poster is, let's say, out with the family for a quaint bonding experience at the cinema? I know it probably doesn't happen within one post, but do the said people get to have the say in finalizing another player's death- or is that completely up to you at the end of every posting order?

Sorry if that sounded dense, but I just wanted to make sure before I went ahead to type down a CS. The overall concept is pretty swish, though.

To give an idea of how this might work, say your character is stabbed in the face while your entire body in encased in cement and you're in a sealed, unobtanium-reinforced box of solid metal. You will then promptly die, even if you decide, "Oh my, I really don't want my character to be dead right now."

Your OOC feelings regarding your character's fate have no weight on the matter, basically.

Oh, no worries, there's to be no autohitting or anything of that nature. All finalization of death is to be done by me. Ninety-nine times out of one hundred, an RPer will be able to post a reaction to their character getting attacked; the only reason I don't say 100% is because there could be some ridiculous situation where a character is lying on the floor comatose or something for whatever reason, in which case there couldn't be any such reaction time.

That said, there can be stealth employed, such as staging an ambush, but even then, none of you are trained assassins. You won't be able to sneak up on someone and slit their throat without them having any idea. And you'll never have to worry about real life circumstances causing you a disadvantage; that's one of the reasons the post order is in place, so people who are online 24/7 can't speedpost like hell.

This kinda reminds me of a 999 concept, except more murdering rather than mystery. I like it!

Since you're doing the 7 sins, does this mean you have limited spots (from the interest check)?

Well, sort of. The max number of players I'll allow is 13, but I'm likely to close apps before then on account of the post order being a thing. Depending on how many players we have, I'll change the cliche theme to suit that.

Speaking of which, it's just settling in that, with the post order, I should probably officially close this around now. Everyone who's posted before now is fine. Newcomers will have to seriously impress me to merit getting a spot.

So, where should we post our provisional character sheets?

Put them here in the OOC. When I've approved them, you can move them to Characters.

Oh, if it wasn't clear, you don't decide your designation. That's something randomly assigned to you, along with your Release Condition.

I was actually picturing something more subtle, like one of the rooms being equipped with a venomous blow-dart of some sort, and someone happens across that, then uses it to take one person out - quick and easy kill. I suppose I was just a tad bit paranoid. Anyways, that's really good to hear. Thank you very much for the reply. :)

Cool, also, should I wait to make my CS after I'm assigned my designation and release condition, as to base my character around the select sin. Or do we generate our CS before we're assigned a Designation?

CSs first, then designation. You'll be told your designation when all OCs are approved and the IC gets puts up.

Alright, here's the basic character sheet. I ended up writing it the way my character would have, with explanations for the skills.

Names: Katya Chekhova/"Kat Crisis"

Gender: Female
Age: 22

Personality: Her cynical, snarky exterior hides a girl who really does want to leave a mark on the world through some combination of music and activism. She tries to keep a cool head, but is actually incredibly quick to anger and slow to cool down, particularly if someone hurts her emotionally. She's gotten herself in deep trouble more times than she cares to remember, but also developed some skills to get herself out of it.

Appearance: Slim and darkly pretty, dyed black hair and piercing blue eyes. Literally all her clothes are black, and she has piercings in pretty much every area imaginable.

Occupation: Singer/guitarist for "Social Transgression," a permanently touring punk-metal band.

Biography: Katya fell in with "the wrong crowd" at birth. Raised by Russian immigrants in the poorest neighborhood in her city, Katya learned at an early age that the world is a harsh place. Years of bullying and, later, trouble with the law only reinforced that image. Rather than spend her life working hard for no reward, she dropped out of high school, found some people who felt the same way about the state of the world, and formed a band so they could tell people about the way of the world at approximately 200 decibels.

Skills:
- Guitar: Mainly speed metal, but she can play some surprisingly emotional pieces inspired by her own feelings..
- Vocals: Most of her songs involve more shouting than singing, but she can sing.
- Electronics: Her band doesn't have the money for sound guys, lighting, or roadies, so Katya handles the brunt of the tech work herself.
- Brawling: Yes, she weighs less than 120 pounds. Yes, she can still plant a steel-toed boot where it hurts.
- Breath Control: When your best song involves an expletive being screamed for 20 seconds straight, breathing exercises are not optional.
- Verbal Manipulation: Katya has a way of making other people just as emotional as she is, whether riling someone up or swaying their opinion.
- Lip Reading: It's about the only way she can communicate after a show.

I'm guessing if you're doing 13 characters, it'll probably be from Ace to King?

(Is this based off of Killer Queen? If you don't know what I'm talking about you could just ignore this xD)

<Good>, someone noticed.

@geminironin

Katya is fine, though I will say that you don't need to put specific real-life locations in the History; doing so carries the risk of making things iffy from a language barrier perspective, so regarding the actual place of origin, the vaguer the better.

@GodOfWar

Same thing I said to gemini about specific locations. Also:

Augustus had been struck in the head with a bladed piece of glass, the fatal injury supposedly causing him to develope a fatal concussion upon impact. Still, Augustus soon woke to find himself in a 6 story building, with a metal collar on his neck and a PDA on his arm, his family nowhere to be found...

Is very shaky. The people behind this aren't miracle workers or anything; moreover, an account of what was happening directly before waking up in the building goes pretty harshly against the basis. It's just "living life in a standard way, woke up one day somewhere different", rather than "nearly died and woke up kidnapped".
