@SPAssemble@RIGHTEOUSwenchGot a counteroffer/compromise for you. That you're investigating bandits works in your favor. The base idea is that you attempt to investigate by approaching your encampment, stuff happens, you get separated and end up in your respective groups. Is that OK with you?

@LeolycanWaiting for you to finish your CS.

@AylersThe more the merrier.

I don't quite understand how this is different from what I outlined XD Ya know, we're just here to have fun and write a good story. Is the issue that I'm a mage and this would all be totally okay if I were a normal outsider? From the start, I was planning to have a character that seemed contrary at first glance because she aligns with the luminosity knights.

If what you need is more mages, I'm sure we could find someone.

But I need to understand the problem to offer solutions. I really like the ideas SPA and I threw around, and I'd like the chance to write them out.

If it's completely not possible to do as we planned, please let me know why :c

The way I understand it, you wanted your two characters to work together, yes? If so, my intention is to separate them into their initial groups at start.

Oh... hm... So you don't want us to interact at all until later?

Idk about this... we were thinking of writing out an origin story to our camaraderie in the beginning/intro portion of the rp. I was hoping to work other characters into it too.

We would separate into alternate groups afterward. I'm willing to change details, but I'm convinced that changing the structure would convolute the development.

Here is the finished product. Sorry if the Bio seems a little rushed, but the backstory of the character was a little harder to come up with than the character himself.

@Laue Our entire schtick is that we are a "third option". We assumed that there would be more than enough players to tell a story in the way you want while we interact with your world in a unique way. Our characters are built around eachother. To separate them would force us to completely re-write them. We aren't going to be a complete wrench in your plans but everything about them is designed to compliment the other.

Food for thought, when you introduce a universe and state that mages and many abilities are learned from a young age, and then expect the players to make adults that have little to no skill in said magics that most adult npcs will have mastered, it really makes it hard to make a character and kills the immersion.

Name: Kavir Kahrhana
Gender: Male
Race: Human
Age: 27
Height: 5‘ 8“
Weight: 214 lbs
Faction: (Outsider)Aura Shinobi

Personality:
Kav is a friendly, kind hearted individual. As such is a person, raised as he was. A protector of the people. His training, his skills, all used to protect those less than himself. He always helps when he can, be it with a job, with a skill, or even with food. When crime is in front of him, he will not hesitate to stop it, but before punishment is dealt, he always tries to find the reason, but when it comes to justice, if deemed necessary, punishment will be swift and instant, with the bladed side of his sword. Kav always has a smile, but deep down he is a cold calculated killing machine.

Bio:
For most of his life, Kavir lived off the streets and the garbage that came with it until a fateful meeting with an old vagrant, traveling man. This man, seeing the promise in him, when Kavir stood up to thugs to protect a friend and took the beating of his life. Broken and bloodied, this man took him in, healed him and lead him off with him for his journies around the lands.

During this time, he taught him his martial arts, and eventually when this man became ill, passed on his sword, and his will. Since that day, Kavir travels village to village, seeing the world and helping do odds and ends for people.

Stats:
STR: 9
AGI: 10
PER: 5
INT: 5
WIS: 6
CHA: 5

Skills/Techniques:
[Tech] Draw/Resheath: With one fluid motion the user, draws, slices and resheaths a sword and only once the sword clicks back into place, does the damage done become apparent.

Combat strategy:
[Style] His style is much like brawling but much more effective. He is skilled in hand to hand and full body contact and uses this to put down a foe as fast as possible.
[Style] When using his sword, there is no middle ground. Either you will die, or the opponent will die. The blade is a weapon of war, and if it is unsheathed, then war will be brought, and war will be won.
[Strategy] He usually tries to incapacitate a foe by any means necessary. There is not honor in a fight if you're dead. but also he does not draw his sword unless completely needed. Once the sword is drawn, so too will blood.

Armour:
[Back] Lightweight, but waterproof cloak
[Chest] Elegant lambskin/leather chest piece, maximum movement, little protection
[Hands] Heavy Cotton with Hardened Leather casing.
[Legs] Simply for freedom/silent movement
[Feet] Similar to his arms, slight protection to ankles/shins, Tabi shoes.
Weapon:
[Sword] Legendary Sword Entrusted to him by his Father. Kept on his side, or back as needed.

@SPAssemble@RIGHTEOUSwenchSo basically what you want your two characters to be separate from everyone else, working together. I see. I haven't planned for a scenario like this. Honestly, while I have a good plan for the regular two groups, something like this is... It is doable, by the question is how to tie the adventures of you two into the grand scheme of things. What kind of threats throw at you. How will your two characters will keep up with the bigger events. It is doable, but that means I've got to create a completely different story-line for you two.

@MadKatzThat was the entire point. Mages in this time have all this power and very little to no idea how to use it.

@Leolycan@Sir JaysunI'll review your characters after work. Same goes for MadKatz's character.

@Laue We can come up with our own story lines. I'm originally a tabletop player so I know to set up and drive narratives. We are loyal to the Luminous Knights but with the relationship Nala and Fredric have made, it complicates things. Our initial first few posts are going to be focused on re-connecting with my former battalion, and finding a non-slave position in the Order for her. The only thing you have to worry about is how NPCs react to our actions. It won't be anything too ridiculous. Some potential ideas is to make us antagonists to one or both other groups. The mages could hate my ideals and the LK could brand me a heretic to be purged. There are quite a number of ways to handle us. Some of the players may become sympathetic or hostile against us in RP as well. If you need to "work us in" we can cooperate.

More accurately, @Laue we are more than willing to collaborate with you, even come up with ideas based on your premises.

You need not carry all the burden!

We hope to inspire and be inspired, certainly not perform as an obstacle. If during our posting, we pose a threat to the coherence or intrigue of the storyline, inform/correct us or remove us. May such a word be accepted humbly.

@SPAssemble@RIGHTEOUSwenchWe best move this to a private convo then.
@LeolycanAccepted. Though the Beacon skill will only work when his aura is something more than just a tiny spark.
@MadKatzLooks fine, though not starting with any magical skills will be a big disadvantage.
@Sir JaysunAccepted. And you don't even need to move your character.

I need to finish discussing something with SPAssemble and RIGHTEOUSwench and we can begin. Expect an IC tomorrow, if we can come to an agreement.

Thanks, I do have a question about the LKs. Is the act of using Luminosity like a prayer/faith based spell, or at will?

At will. At least for the instinct spells. Those are just as natural as walking or moving any limb. Now Sigil-based spells are a different beast entirely, but that will come up later.

@Laue He doesnt have magic. It doesnt make since to be 27 and only now learn magic so hes basically a vagrant for hire, and a skilled swords man and has no magical power.

@MadKatzYour character is accepted. Though I assure you, you will need something later on. Maybe some more of passive magic allowing him to surpass natural limits earlier than others?

And with that, I will add an important NPC to the Luminous Knight side. Hopefully I will be able to get the IC up soon. If not, expect it tomorrow.

Can my character gain some more magical abilities later on if the situation calls for it? Cuz right now I nerfed him for the sake of character development (and comedy). He has some assassin stuff but with the hints you're dropping I'm pretty sure that's not going to do him much good.
