Yeah I am still going to do it. An idea of how to stop her fighting for a while still hasn't come to mind though.

You could give her a temporary injury which inhibits her ability to fight? Maybe a broken arm.

Also I imagine a horde of undead will be approaching the group from within the mall by now. Have fun!

EDIT 2: Even more plot bunnies abound. On the big scale, I think Blaine's presence is going to be really beneficial in moving the story forward. If we make decisions now on how far the infection has spread and what the situation is like elsewhere in the country/world, some things Blaine may be privy to due to his backstory.

Poor Mama, even if they tried to help her (and I reckon Chris and Tony will if no one else), she's doomed.

That's what we need to figure out. Since it's only been about a month or so since the outbreak, how fast shall we say the infection has travelled? I would say it is beginning to effect other countries, but central Europe may be safe-ish for now. If the American military acted fast enough, they might have locked the infection inside the country for the most part. Either way, Blaine might know a thing or two about it, and that could help our characters and us come up with an endgame.

I can't think of a solid reason why someone would choose not to fight in events such as these, save mental illness, or some great belief in the divine. You'd have to be very good to survive in an apocalyptic world without fighting.

@teapotsharkLet me know if you want me to start forshadowing things, i had a couple ideas in mind for that as well. :-)

I'm more of a 'like to be in the know' person xD But if you want to lay in surprises am fine with that <.< I've recently been making my way through The Walking Dead season 5 so pretty loaded up on zombie inspiration myself :P

I looked into the fight-or-flight response thing a little while ago, I can't even remember where I read that the flight or fight response can be 'broken' as such simply by the everyday stresses of modern society :S All links into stress somehow >.< I can't find the place I read up on this any more which is really frustrating but basically what I'm getting at, is a perfectly normal person could suffer from it, something goes wrong in the wiring and instead of fighting or running the person 'freezes up'

Why not just go for the original 'flight' rather than a 'fight' person? Either the flight or freeze things can eventually be overcome with a little bit of help. Just considering she has been on her own, I'd imagine being someone that would rather run away from the infected rather than fight them could be enough of a reason? :S

It doesn't make it difficult! Honestly don't worry :D I can work with what you've posted and to be fair I really enjoyed reading through your post, especially Blaine's reaction in the first half ^^

I was planning on gently nudging Blaine and Feather towards Libertina :P
