Name: Ban Anri
Age: 19
Race: Human
Appearance: Petite at a glance, Ban’s muscle is lean and unpronounced, usually hidden beneath long sleeves. She has wide, child-like green eyes and black hair that runs wild over her face and down to the middle of her back. Much of her torso, back, and parts of her arms and legs bear burns that blotch her porcelain skin in pink.
Equipment: Ban’s outfit consists of a dark, lightweight cloth armor, meant to allow easy, unobstructed movements. She wears a layered leather shoulder guard on her left arm that runs to her elbow, and a vambrace that covers her forearm. Overtop her outfit she wears a cloak that is clearly too big for her. It runs down to her ankles and pulls over her whole form easily. Cuts and burn marks mar the bottom of it, but the fabric as a whole remains intact.
She wields a composite bow as her weapon of choice, with two quivers of the cylindrical yazutsu design worn on her back. Worn on her hip is the remains of a chokuto sword, which has been broken and is missing the upper half of its blade.
Skills: Ban has a keen eye and quick reflexes, as well as a sense for opportunity. Most of her combat skill lies in the use of the bow and arrow, and she would most likely flee before trying to stand against another swordsman toe-to-toe with the broken blade. She is however quite nimble and light on her feet, able to maneuver well with the bow and quivers on her person.
History: Ban’s mother passed as a result of her birth, due to complications. Her father did not resent her for the incident, but instead grew incredibly protective of his children, forbidding his son from leaving their home village, and his daughter from ever so much as holding a blade.
Being the stubborn, shifty child that she was, Ban decided to obey her father’s word and instead picked up the bow. While her brother practiced to join the local guardsmen, she would accompany him and train as well. By the time she’d matured into a young woman, Ban had developed notable skill with the bow, though she was still forced to keep her practice a secret.
Her father never found out about it, for not long after her nineteenth year the wicked Daimyo Sadayu’s grand assault on the Hattori line hit its climax. Her village was easily toppled, her house burned down atop herself and her father. When at last she was able to free herself from the scorching rubble the fight was over. Ban found her father crushed beneath the debris and her brother not far away lying in a pool of his own blood. Though his last words were gargled and inaudible, he motioned for her to run, and she did. She took up his broken sword, his cloak, and her own weapons, and then ran the only way that made sense, after the Hattori heir.
