Has a natural charm that makes resistance against him near impossible when he's trying(It's magic), and can inject a wide variety of venom with his semi retractable fangs. His senses are also much better than those of a human.
General Personality: He was once quite a visionary, always eager to try new things and having a passion for trying to find a way from humans and vampires to live side-by-side peacefully. However he no longer has such grand dreams, the years of failure getting to him so now he has all but given up entirely. He doesn't enjoy much, and nothing inspires him any more. He still has a fondness for music and poetry, but over all he is a very dispassionate being. At parties he seems to be content, smiling, and even laughing, but a lot of people can tell that he is, in some way or another, less than he once was. He ignores the criticisms, hearing them often, and has become somewhat of a hermit, not letting anyone come into his home unless invited for a party.
Background: Alen was the emperor of his own small country before he was turned. His childhood is long lost from his memory and over the years he has lost almost all memory from the time before he became a vampire. However he does recall his station, and that his family died some time shortly before he was turned. In the years since Alen has tried his best to make life better for vampires, and for a time, it looked as if he would be the greatest revolutionary in all of vampiric history. However about the time he had worked up some decent speed with his movements, a new order was established by churches across the country that impeded him almost indefinitely.
For a time there was all out war between the order and the vampires, the bloodshed seemingly without end. The new order had been long in coming, but after being established their numbers grew like wildfire. They were well equipped and well trained in killing the night walkers. Alen tried to establish a peace, but too many of his kind were killed too quickly, and the vampires of the day were not known for their forgiveness nor their patience. However after a good two-hundred years of non stop fighting Alen and some others managed to convince their kind to go into hiding, the elders themselves meeting with the order to inform them of a new law passed among their people: No vampire was to kill another human unless they are turning them, or the human tried to kill them first.
The losses on the human side of things over the past 200 years was enough for the old men in the order to call back the fighters, the war ending with a kind of truce. However they made it clear to the elders that if any vampire begins causing major trouble, they will send out their fighters to take it down. The order would never approve of vampires, that they made clear, but they resolved to begin valuing life more, rather than valuing the killing of vampires above all else.
The local chapter of the order know Alen is a vampire, his face being thoroughly documented from descriptions of him from the meeting, and from then on having the order keeping an eye on him. At least one from the order comes to every party, and Alen dos not bother them. The order knows better than to out him, his place in society so well established that it would most likely be denounced as slander and the order discredited. However the uneasy kind of truce is not what Alen really wanted, but after another hundred years of nothing but hostility towards his kind, Alen has no more drive. St least, not that he knows of. As of late he's become a little restless, his parties becoming slightly more frequent, and the mood of the parties, more fun. Though the vampire himself does not seem to be any more jovial.
