Characters may be of any race, species or affliction you wish, and worldbuilding is encouraged. The only strict rule is that the general public remains ignorant of the existence of Fae, and the world of the humans is exactly the same as the world as we know it in real life. What happens in the alleys and in the wilderness, however, is up to you.

Gameplay will begin with the show already underway in New York City, under the assumption that all characters are performing, working behind the scenes, or in the stands at the start of the game.

NAME: Anpheus



ABSTRACT: Flirtatious bastard with an aptitude for magic and getting into your pants.

DETAIL: Anpheus at first glance is charming and witty , but can just quickly become your worst social nightmare. If he likes you however, you can be sure he won't stop until he gets his prize. He's very narcissistic, putting his appearance above all else.

In the ring, when he's performing, that's the very reason for his existence. Illusions are his forte, tricking your mind and leaving you unsure of what you've just seen. He loves doing little pranks and suchlike to annoy everyone, but most of the time pins it on someone else.

HOW DO YOU KNOW NORA?
Anpheus met Nora when he saw one of the circus shows and signed right up. He likes chatting to her, whether she's in a good mood or not, as he likes her sense of humor.

ABSTRACT: A haughty woman with a taste for luxury and fine things.

Meghara is a woman who would probably have been better suited for a life of riches. Unfortunately, that is not the case, but she's still attracted to fine clothes and expensive jewels like a moth to a flame. She's very careful with her appearance, and tries never to look less than immaculate. She carries herself as if she's a noblewoman and hates being toyed with. Thankfully, her airs end with her posture and she interacts with everyone as her equal, unless she dislikes them, in which case prepare to be the target of her next performance.

In the ring, Meghara's flames command attention. Her tricks and demonstrations, especially that of her fire eating, hold the gaze of the audience, and she loves to be in the limelight. Agile, she performs all sorts of tricks with a flaming staff and hoops. If the situation calls for it she can pass as an adequate tightrope walker, but she never willingly does it. When not in the ring, she passes her time perfecting her tricks or fixing up her dresses to make them look better.

HOW DO YOU KNOW DRAGON? Had a fling with a previous (now deceased) member of the Rockjaw clan, and joined their troope in that time. She's been with them since.

NAME: Hypate

ABSTRACT:Courageous turtle with a dash of vanilla and spare motor parts. It's abstract, right? Vain but handsome woman with a knack for necromancy.

DETAIL: Most people would describe Hypate as dark, but maybe it's the lack of lights in the circus. As a skilled illusionist, Hypate is fond of doing tricks such as:

REVEALING THAT IT WAS JUST A CLEVER RUSE! ( EVEN THOUGH THE ONLOOKER IS STILL MISSING A HAND! )

Personality wise, Hypate is a very moody and temperamental person. She is quiet when out of the ring, but has a habit of flaunting her 'powers' when performing her tricks. ( Are they even tricks? That man is still missing a hand! ) She is fond of making circus-goers pets appear as skeletons, and constantly attempts to kidnap Dragon ( The dog, not the man-dog. ) in order to perform some sort of devilish tricks on him.

HOW DO YOU KNOW NORA? Hypate arrived at a show seeking sanctuary and a place where people would accept her, regardless of her powers. After a short wait, she soon became a permanent ( Sort of... ) attraction of the circus.

HOW DO YOU KNOW TARIT? Enticed by his unusual abilities and rather normal personality in a magical circus, Hypate and Tarit quickly became an odd couple. They separated once Tarit was fed up with Hypate's infatuation with mirror, with seemingly of romantic attraction left. OR IS THERE? ( maybe )

NAME: Toby

ABSTRACT: The silly werewolf clown that unfortunately never came with an off button.

DETAILS: As the Underground Circus's clown, Toby is energetic, enthusiastic, and outgoing. Constantly thinking of new ways to perform and tell jokes, problem is most of the time his punchlines end up making others laugh at him than with but he doesn't seem to mind at all.
The fact that he is also a werewolf means he couldn't always perform when there was a full moon (ever try to make a whole crowd laugh when your a seven foot tall beast with sharp claws and teeth? ITS HARD). When he does get to perform though, he usually awes the audience with his juggling tricks on a giant ball or any other tricks he had up his sleeves. At the end of the night he only wishes that he had left a lot of smiles before they leave.

HOW DO YOU KNOW MEGHARA? Back before he was training to become a clown, Toby first helped with cleaning up the place wether it was after a performers act or just when they were done for the night. He always had a good view to watch every act and found Meghara's to be the best. Now in some of his practice acts he would include juggling fiery objects.

HOW DO YOU KNOW DRAGON?The man helped Toby find out that he wanted to perform as a clown for the circus and it's because of that now no one will hear the end of the guy's constant jokes.

HOW DO YOU KNOW FINN? It's always nice having another werewolf around. Toby was happy to be a part of a new pack with Finn, although who will be the alpha is still being discussed. Toby insist that they should settle it by voting but would always get a reply with "For the last time, you can't have a vote with only TWO PEOPLE!" pffft never know till you try, am I right?

HOW DO YOU KNOW GRUMBLE Toby has made it his life mission to try and get the nymph to at least laugh at one of his jokes, although she is proving to be a real challenge. When she ignores him at times, the clown would playfully pinch both sides of her cheeks and makes a smile which usually ends up with him getting a slap to the face.

NAME: Finn Lockhart

ABSTRACT: A runaway werewolf with no pack to call his own

DETAIL: Finn was born into a clan of werewolves that live in the woods outside of New York. His father was the alpha of the clan and so, by birthright, Finn was destined to be Alpha as well. Finn however was not enamored with the idea of leading the pack. The wolves of the pack were rowdy and uncultured, traits that unnerved the more civilized Finn. Finn ran away one night, intent on never returning.

Eventually he was found by the circus, who took him in. He may love the adventure of traveling with the circus but as of late, the desire for a pack for him to lead as struck him. He often goes into wolf form and runs off in the night, going hunting and exploring.

HOW DO YOU KNOW NORA?: Finn met Nora one day while traveling in the woods. He stumbled upon the circus and she asked to see him. He explained his circumstances, and their shared love for culture bonded the two. She offered the young werewolf a spot in the circus, so long as he'd refrain from turning any of the members.

HOW DO YOU KNOW TOBY?: Finn doesn't so much hate Toby, as he is annoyed by him. Toby often makes japes about being the strongest werewolf or the alpha, much to Finn's chagrin. Finn's more cold attitude tends to create friction with the fun loving clown.

NAME: Atrius Darmara

ABSTRACT: An angry gargoyle with a chip on his shoulder.

DETAIL: Atrius was born in a gargoyle clan in Scotland, but when stolen from his home as a young hatchling. The human that stole him sold him to a group of Fae hunters, who now use him to hunt down the mystical beings.

A gargoyle's keen sense of smell and sensitivity to magic make it easy for them to track such creatures, but most have no desire to. Their only purpose in life is to protect their birthplace (be a castle, a sacred ground, or a building) from those who would harm it. Being forcefully removed from his home and not so consensually contracted to hunt has made Atrius a not so happy gargoyle. He's mean spirited, aggressive, and often take any chance he can get to snap at his handlers. Because of this, he's been kept in a muzzle.

Gargoyles possess immense strength and agility. Their wings allow them limited flight (mostly gliding), and their size makes them a formidable foe. Their weakness, however, is sunlight. If sunlight touched their skin, they will turn to stone until the sun goes down.

The circus, being a cesspool of magic and fae, has been a target for this hunting clan for years. They've gotten close to finally tracking it down. Will they destroy the circus, or will their hound turn on them for the last time?

HOW DO YOU KNOW NORA: Atrius and his handlers have had a few run ins with the circus owners, and a couple close calls.

NAME: Their full names are Shalissia and Jaycendel, but nowadays they go under Lissia and Jayce.

ABSTRACT: A pair of blonde twins that defy gravity.

DETAIL: Lissia and Jayce are chalk and cheese: Lissia is outgoing and chatty, cheerful and flirts with everyone; Jayce is soft spoken, thoughtful and almost painfully shy when not performing. Despite that, they’re clearly devoted to each other and work superbly together as acrobats, particularly on the trapeze.

A pair of half-fae twins, Lissia and Jayce had a difficult time fitting into either human or fae society. Constantly shunted from one world to another, they learnt to depend on each other and no one else. Whichever society they were in seemed to sense there was something different about them. After their human mother died they spent more time with the fey until they eventually left once and for all.

HOW DO THEY KNOW CELESTE? Celeste was one of the few of the elves who had time for the twins; when she decided to leave she encouraged them to come with her; being rather rootless they agreed and thanks to their natural agility quickly learnt some of her acrobatic skills, eventually switching to the trapeze and (sometimes) tightrope.

HOW DO THEY KNOW YOKO? When the young boy joined the company he reminded the twins of their own upbringing, and what it feels like when no one cares for you, so they both took a real shine to him and now consider him almost a little brother.

Abstract: Loving, daring, can make you think you losing your mind.

Detail: Has great intuition. When she touches an object that belongs to someone or touches someone, she can be inside there mind looking through their eyes and she can also see whats in their future. She can talk inside your head and sometimes makes you think your losing your mind. Is loving, caring and over-protective. She is pretty new to the group and is 16 years of age.

Her job is to tell people what their future lies. It can be a great job at times but sometimes its hard to tell someone the truth. She is very lonely but doesn't show it. She is extremely flirty and hopes to get a boyfriend.

How do you know Nora: Through her pet Corgi. Her pet Corgi called Dragon went on the loose and ran into her leg. She picked the Corgi up and looked around for the owner. She saw this woman looking around frantic for something and she decided to go see if it was her Corgi. They quickly became friends and she told her about the Circus, and she decided to join.

NAME: Yoko

ABSTRACT: Shy but can be outgoing and distrusts most humans.

DETAIL: Yoko is a 16 year old red antro fox. He hasn't told many people about his life before he joined the circus. The few people he has told(the twins and Nora) know that humans attack him and his parents and he lost 1/3 of his tail. He doesn't know if his parents are alive or not but has hope he will see them again. He currently lives in a tent with the twins (or Pandora or both) and has spent his time there learning and honing his knife throwing abilities. When they put on a show Yoko can be found working behind the scenes doing various tasks. Can turn into a feral fox at will.

How do you know Lissia, Jayce, and Nora?: They were the first people to find and welcome him to their "Family".

ABSTRACT: A silver-tongued djinn with a penchant for conversation.

DETAIL: Every time the question arises regarding his origin, Mister Folly spins a new tale. Whether it’s the deepest depths of the ocean, the outer reaches of the unknowable cosmos, or the result of a hiccup in space and time, all his stories share two common traits. They are always extravagant and detailed, and they are always untrue. Mister Folly considers his origins unimportant in relation to who he is and what he does.

In regards to who he is, Mister Folly appears as a tall and lithe man with black eyes and a mouth full of sharp teeth that seal together perfectly into a virtually static grin. He is always, always dressed in a fine suit and tie, white and red respectively, with a thin top hat upon his head. He speaks with the suavity of a southern-fried businessman, favoring an elevated diction when speaking to others.

As for what he does, in the end Mister Folly would say he makes deals. Come to him with a wish, and depending on its gravity he will ask for appropriate payment, always given before the wish’s delivery. These payments vary wildly, and could be anything from a favor, to material objects, to displays of raw emotion. What Mister Folly does with these things, no one can say for sure, but upon their delivery he will grant the desired wish. To what effect? He often takes advantage of vagueness, and most clients either end up with more than they can chew, or utterly starved of their original intentions.

In the ring, Mister Folly’s acts largely involve the audience. In exchange for a round of applause or laughter, he makes little wishes like “finding a lost bracelet” or “making grey hair disappear” come true.

HOW DO YOU KNOW DRAGON? Mister Folly met Dragon when one night found himself in the circus’s audience, a thoroughly entertained and intrigued spectator. Signing on afterwards, he’s since come to find the elder Rockjaw’s…brusque personality, as well as the general energy of the circus as a whole, to be a near constant source of entertainment. The added safety doesn’t hurt much either.

Aʙsᴛʀᴀᴄᴛ: A sophisticated spider with an alarming appetite.

Dᴇᴛᴀɪʟ: Duchess was one among hundreds of spiderlings, and like most spiders, the time spent between mother and offspring was brief. Once hatched she and her fellow siblings were told they must set out on a journey, to find their own place in the world. The mother gave her spiderlings the harsh truth, but also one piece of interesting knowledge: many of them would die, but those who prospered to see their 400th year of life would be granted the power to take on human form. Then and only then would their lives become easier. The vast majority of the spiderlings climbed to the tallest branches to cast their silk threads against the wind only for their fate to be met by birds above them. Duchess, however, managed to escape, never looking back and never forgetting what her mother had told her.

She would bid her time until she could fully mature by residing in other people’s homes and buildings, consuming the pests and keeping to herself so as not to impose upon her human subjects; in return no one ever bothered her. Generations would come and go--no place was ever the same as the last, that was until she found the Circus.

When in the ring, Duchess is an example of traditional beauty; displaying a haunting elegance when performing aerial contortion. Off stage she exudes the same air of sophistication, and tact while having a rare grace of never saying a word too much. Duchess is often nurturing to those younger, more needing then herself, giving them the love and affection she herself never received from her own mother. However, when someone wrongs her, she makes it her business to even the score. Displaying superb patience, she will even wait years for the right moment.

Hᴏᴡ ᴅᴏ ʏᴏᴜ ᴋɴᴏᴡ Nᴏʀᴀ? Being adept at making fine, handspun silk, it was no surprise that Duchess was noticed by Nora. In return for her skill she was offered a permanent place in the circus.

♣- Simon is able to hit moving and still targets with great precision.
♢- Has a knack for balancing items
♠- While her act only involves one person, she doesn't seem upset by it at all, although having a second opinion during some performances wouldn't hurt. The lack of 'danger' in her life led her to practice knife throwing indoors for hours on end.
♡- Easily annoyed by some people, but loyal to those who care for her.

Simon was born above a small toy shop in Northern Switzerland. She definitely has been sheltered from the world and is almost bitter because of it. Originally the only child of an ill woman and her hermit shell of a husband, the young girl was constantly babied and hidden away from the world. Along with certain health conditions, her parents were too afraid she would one day become bed-ridden or afraid of the outside world , should she ever leave on her own. The blessings having a store that could keep any child occupied was a curse once she began growing up, if anything, only prolonging her desire to get out. A certain family situation triggered her to leave however, once she packed her bags and ran off at the age of seventeen, she finally got a glimpse of the real threats outside, and realized that the idle world she conjured up in mornings by the storefronts window and evenings sneaking into her mothers library was no paradise.

A house here, a shack there, it was enough to keep the young girl hidden for awhile. After coming across the Circus, however, she believes she's found a real home for herself, and will go to any lengths to keep herself here. Her slight variety of talents are impressive to say the least, but nothing worthy of being center stage.


With Adir's knack for being a big brother, taking in a wandering Simon after sneaking into one of the shows wasn't a surprise. Simon only occasionally talks to him, mostly to ask about the others in their troupes and how to progress better in hopes of one day being a main act.
