-Took out 5 year recuperation periods. Just means Ethan and Ilana joined AMRO at a later age.
-Switched Ethan's Sigillum for Motem.
-Removed Burst Mode from his penlight system.

It occurs to me that we should set up limits for telepathy now, instead of when it comes up, especially since I forget what they were last time around. I understand that partners can communicate no matter where the other is, except perhaps in a zone that blocks alchemy or the link or something, or with a barrier designed for such things between them. But what about between those who are not linked to each other? Is it anyone? Do you have to have seen/met them first? How far can they send? I remember it's possible to send to more than one person at a time, but is it also possible to "broadcast" to everyone they can send to that is in range? Since the telepathy is related to the network of AMRO somehow, it shouldn't be an issue for other people/alchemists to overhear, which is the usual problem of a broadcast-type telepathic message, unless one has a /very/ good handle on the finer mechanics of differentiating between groups at a mental glance.

Also, you mentioned that Asylums are linked to a partner and to the network. Lost Numbers are tied to that network as well, and I would guess Chronos. What about Unlinked?

Lastly, is Wilben dumb and an a**, or just a dumb***?

Communication with your partner and other Asylums is relatively easy, regardless the distanxe. Communication with more than one also in a specific radius is not a difficult task.

Lost Numbers and Unlinked are not connected to the code.

All Asylums are linked to their partners, and the link between them is connected to other Asylums forming a large synapse known as the code. Chronos are able to tap directly into the code. However all this is classified.

@xodus Thank you for clarifying. Does this mean that Lost Numbers and Unlinked /cannot/ use telepathy to speak to others? I thought Chronos were linked to their partners as well.

No Chronos are not linked to their partners. The reason being no alchemist would be able to bear the straiN coming from the Chrono.

And lost numbers and Unlinked can communicate, they just tap into the telepathic frequency. Not everyone can do that as you need to understand their alchemic drive, something Asylums are taught to know.

Every Alchemist gives of an aura of their energy, an Alchemic drive, this can be sensed by trained professionals.

Think bleach, the spiritual pressure that emits from ichigo and other captains.
