W.I.P

I just wanted to get the idea down before someone took the power/ability. But if any edits are needed before I finish just let me know.

Name: Cassandra Ashbov

Nicknames: Cass

Alias: The Voice

ABILITIES: Clairvoyance & Mind Manipulation

Phase 1
(Mind reading): Cassandra's first taste of power will include the ability to actively perceive/hear the thoughts of those around her.

Limitation: At first, when thoughts present themselves to her she will not be able discern one from the other. They'll bombard her mind like mingling voices in a crowd until she is able to concentrate on the specific voice she wishes to hear.

Weakness: The dull roar can be enough to disorient her. It can even effect her vision if there are enough people around, much like excess light would trigger a migraine.

Phase 2 (Telepathic Communication): Once Cassandra is able to isolate the specific thoughts of others, she will be able to innitiate mental conversation. At first, brief, then lengthier with practice.

Limitation: This type of mental invasion requires varying levels of strength. Example; a trusted friend would be more willing/open to telepathic communication than a complete stranger. At this stage it will also be impossible to communicate with a moving target.

Weakness: Strength required is draining and is useless on the move. Similar, but heightened, versions of Phase 1 weaknesses.

Phase 3(Mind Manipulation/ Minimal Clairvoyance): The final set of earned powers will include the ability to control others via mind manipulation, and brief glimpses into the 'future'. I feel that the terms I'm using must be specifically defined. Mind manipulation, for Cassandra, means having the ability to 'sway' another's thoughts. Example; a target would not become zombie-like, under Cassandra's control. He/she would willingly change their course of action after she manipulated the thought that initiated it. Furthermore, for clairvoyance; Cassandra cannot see into a definite future. Her vision of oncoming events is limited to the target's knowledge of said event.

Limitations: At this time mind manipulation can only be performed on a single, unmoving target. Cassandra herself must also be stationary to perform this task. Same goes for clairvoyance. As mentioned before, visions of the future are limited to target's knowledge and involvement in said future. Extreme will power is needed to perform both actions, requiring Cassandra to overcome the mental strength of her target.

Weakness: Paranoia, as well as other mental blocks a target may experience, can be major obstacles. Extremely draining. Cool-down time is needed for recovery. Personal morals and restrictions also prevent Cassandra from using this technique unless absolutely necessary.

Final Phase: Complete mastery of previously mentioned techniques. Of course, similar limitations still apply.

Writing Sample:

Oh, I would totally love to go to the ridiculously unintelligent movie with you, the blonde girl would chirp, her hair moving just-so with the wind, brushing itself behind her perfect willowy shoulder.

Cool. I can't wait to bring my guitar and act like a musician while I play the same two chords from Horse With No Name. I'm original, I swear. Your boobs look great, the shaggy boy would respond with hair hanging over his eyes, but not bothering to change it.

"Cass.. Cassandra," a familiar voice called out. It took a moment for her eyes to break from the auto-pilot of daydreaming, but she eventually turned.

"Hello, Fay."

"Creating conversations in your head again?" The brown-haired girl asked, gesturing toward the couple flirting flamboyantly under a tree at the other end of the park.

"I'd like to think they're pretty accurate," Cassandra replied curtly.

"If you wanted to talk to him, you should've done it before she got there," Fay said with a mischievous smile.

"I don't know what you're talking about," Cassandra said, sounding bored and annoyed but keeping her blue eyes fixed lazily on the couple. Fay chuckled under her breath.

The two friends sat together on the picnic bench under the humid warmth of a typical New Lilith afternoon. Their silence was filled with a learned understanding and mutual love that others wouldn't understand. Cassandra preferred to keep it that way. She had Fay, who accepted her blunt sarcasm and anti-social hardness... that was all she needed in the world.

Or so she thought.

@The Roman07 Definitely a little on the over powered side with being able to manipulate emotions, thoughts and then having telekinesis. Due to the high interest in mental powers, I think I would prefer if you either focused on the empathy based powers or the telekinetic ones.

@Optio I really don't foresee your chosen ability working in the RP unfortunately. It's an interesting idea, but due to game mechanics I just don't see you being able to be as involved which will of course be rather limiting for Jacob.

@Lev Powers seem well checked, always a little iffy towards telepathy but yours seems balanced and checked so I'm looking forward to the rest of the sheet.

#Attempt3.1

NAME:
Jacob Mackoy

NICKNAME(S):
Jay (J)

ALIAS(ES):
Mimic

ABILITIES:

Stage One(Mimic):
With a touch Mimic transforms to look like/be the person he is touching. (The transformation is instantaneous, reality 'ripples' and he is changed).

Stage Two(More Mimic):
Mimic gains the power of anyone he mimics if they have one. (He won't know how to use it so would be stuck at Stage One of their power).

Stage Three(SUPER Mimic):
When Mimic mimics someone he keeps their memory for as long as he is in that form, once he changes form the memories start to fade. (With their memory he would be able to operate their power at the level they can).

Stage Four(Eye mimic):
Mimic can mimic someone through eye contact.

Limitations:
Touch or later eye contact is required to Mimic someone.
If he mimics someone the limitations of their power come aswell as the power.
At first Mimic must maintain skin on skin contact for around 10 seconds to mimic someone, as he learns more about his power this time decreases culminating in the ability to mimic someone with eye contact.
Every time Mimic touches someone he will be tempted/urged to mimic them, If he is forced into contact for long enough (At the start say 30 seconds, as he grows more powerful the time increases) he will mimic them involuntarily. (This also applies when he is asleep or knocked out).
Mimic is highly allergic to Wasp stings and thus terrified of them.

SAMPLE POST:

"Jacob Jacob Jacob.. why do you make me do this to you?"
Through the dizzy fog of concussion Jacob heard the mocking tone, the gloating voice of Davey Knickleson standing over him.
Enraged he pushed himself off the floor and launched a solid punch towards the blurry form of his current nemesis, Davey sidestepped and Jacob found himself sprawling past in no position to resist as Davey grabbed a handhold of his dark brown hair and using Jacobs own momentum dragged his face along the rugged brick wall of the small alley.
As he hit the floor there was a moment of bliss and then the scraped and gouged skin of his cheek burned its presence into his mind.

A shadow, his shadow fell across Jacob.
"If I find any more of my possessions in your bag I'm turning you in Jacob, You might be my sisters friend, you arn't mine."
This was punctuated by a sharp blinding pain in Jacobs stomach as a booted foot slammed home. On the floor he writhed in his agony, desperately drawing breath in great gasps. When he finally recovered enough to look about Davey was gone.

He took his time standing up, the blood on his face was drying and the sharp twinges in his stomach every time he made a sudden move told of deep bruising. Still he hobbled over to his backpack and upon finding only school books he filled the air with vile curses, Davey had taken his whole weeks collection! Food was going to be scarce for the foreseeable future.

@Optio I think that you should change the body swapping to shapeshifting. I doubt taking someone's body will be permitted.

I fully endorse this suggestion. Furthermore, Stage 2 just seems completely out of place in comparison to the rest of the abilities, why would he swap bodies if his was improved?

And I'll be running into a hentai monster.
I'm envisioning Max as a Grand Theft Auto character with a God Mode cheat on. He ain't gonna die, but he is gonna be Ragdoll'd a lot.

haha, you might have a point. Give me a sec, I have an idea.

edit: Also, stage 2 was meant to happen in any body he went into, which i thought was a cool way of giving people who he annoys the ability to fight back.

EDIT2: My CS higher up this page has been updated and awaits review :D

Hmm, I like the abilities (if only because they're very similar to the first character I ever made), I do like the fact the limitations and weaknesses of the powers transfer over, but I'd like to see a few more added to Mimic himself. Maybe something that breaks the imitation, or interrupts it? Is the touch literally a touch, like can he brush up against someone, or does he have to place a whole hand on them? If he's knocked unconscious does he return to normal, can severe trauma shocking him out of, such as being shot?

Just some stuff like that, otherwise it's looking good.

Nope, I just started a trend it seems. My only requirement was that you choose abilities that can evolve and expand as the story progresses.

I've added in some more Limitations including one that will require a bit of preplanning to actually use against Mimic :L (Wasps)
