Twenty years ago, a man named Gold Roger, the Pirate King, was executed in Lougetown. However, before he was slain, he proclaimed to all that his Treasure, the One Piece, was left on the Grand Line, and belongs to the first person to find it. Because of this, the Golden Age of the Pirates has begun, as Pirates from all over the world flock to the Grand Line, in search of the great treasures accumulated over the Pirate King’s Career. Many search for it, simply to become the richest and most respected pirate in the world, others wish just for the journey. No matter the reason, the World Government is worried about what this could mean for the safety of the world.
So with the Doctrine of Absolute Justice, the World Government has begun a world-wide attempt to keep the peace and mitigate the damage from the pirates. But with the many Devil Fruit Users popping up all over the seas, as well as the many incredible swordsmen and tyrants among the sea, there is no telling how hard their goal may be, or if they really are doing this for the good of the people.

I like the fact that you've put a hard cap on Devil Fruits, by the way, since those tend to really swallow up One Piece RPs. Going to suggest extending that limitation to a ban on Logias and Mythical Zoans too, honestly, since... Hopefully obvious reasons really. XD

Exactly! While the prospect of future fruits does seem interesting, I believe that there could be quite a power vacuum if everyone here and there are Logia types and such. I absolutely wouldn't mind if there weren't Devil Fruits to begin with at all. Of course, that is totally your call.

Expressing interest as well and liking the idea of a cap on Devil Fruits since most One Piece RPs I've tried for wind up with way too many and a lot of those kind of wind up being sorta lacking-in-creativity Logias. Have a few different ideas to possibly try out.

Yes, and his quest will be to...I dunno, either become the world's greatest swordsman or just relax and chill out but people keep hearing about his reputation and challenging him to sword duels. Either way, some kind of sword-y guy./kid/person.

I'm not fond of the cap. Devil Fruit is half of one piece's world. I can see if it was a small crew if this get big to like....12 people or more, a small cap such as 3 is rigid. Play by ear.

Though I'd rather see a cap on logia and mythical zoan. Don't outright ban them but instead impose restrictions that can be released throughout the rp. Such as logia intangibility is only for when you master your powers but that won't be till people can use Haki. Depending on where we start in power. Or say with a Mythical Zoan, one can't go full form and the healing is heavily nerfed until once again we are farther in the rp and have evolved enough to handle such things. Everyone grows side by side.

We're starting at Luffy vs Alvida levels, and if I get enough people, yeah I'll raise the cap. I wasn't expecting a lot of people, but it looks like One Piece is still super popular.

Oh, little note here, but when you do a character background I'm looking for people to give them an extensive background like the flash back episodes of the show. Then you can reference it through the rp

Yeah so just hard limit mythical Zoan and logia. Especially since it won't be many.

The lovely part about that is..early One Piece Zoro threw a house. LOL

To be honest, I just think Mythical Zoans and Logias aren't fit for PCs at all, and only really work for NPCs. ^^;

...Am considering a regular Zoan maybe but we'll see how that turns out.

I'm not fond of that. It should be watched, regulated and/or limited but not just removed completely from the player. I always feel its not the powers fault but the player behind it and those that are managing said player. Just my two cents. All up to Panda. I got ideas either way

Speaking of all the interest in One Piece, can I suggest the step of a player cap of...maybe around six or so, so we don't wind up with like 14 players or like three different crews since either would be hard to manage and tends to be the death of a lot of One Piece RPs? It's just a suggestion though.

I have returned from my meditations with at least one idea that's both wacky and has some potential.

As for things that actually matter at the moment, I'm in agreement with the "smaller the better" approach, though I've got no real opinion on the Logia and Mythical Zoan thing.

Might be better to wait and see what everyone else brings to the table before deciding on who gets to be the first mate, honestly. But that's just how I see it. ^^;

...I might take back what I said about taking a Zoan since I suddenly had an idea for a gadgeteer kind of character, but not entirely sure about that. Hmmm, we'll see I guess.
