Name: Birdy D. Blade
Age: 14
Species: Human
Gender: Male
Appearance: Birdy is short around 5'1' or 157 cm in height with brown eyes and has unruly black hair that sticks out in all directions regardless of any attempts to comb it. His skin's been lightly tanned by constant exposure to the sun after a few years of wandering around and sailing from place to place and he has a scar across his left cheek and another much larger scar across his chest, both from close calls with rival swordsmen despite his young age. His most notable feature is the large rectangular metal delivery box slung across his back with the words 'Hi-Speed Delivery' painted onto it. Other than that he generally wears a pair of metal-studded geta and a short, loose purple jacket over a white shirt, both of which have the word 'Blade' written on them as an advertisement for his family's school.
Weapons and/or Devil Fruit: Birdy carries what appears to be a very large insulated metal box for delivering ramen and other soups
(similar to the one depicted to the side here but larger and longer) on his back, which has the words 'Hi-Speed Delivery' painted on it. It does not contain delicious soups but in fact stores his entire collection of various swords and blades in rotating racks allowing him to switch out multiple swords at need. If needed the Delivery Box can also launch the blades at high-speeds, and as it is incredibly heavy and dense the box itself can be used as a blunt weapon. This is the trademark of his Infinite Sword Swap style, as he changes his swords and fighting style out mid-battle to adapt to opponents or achieve different effects. Birdy is actually an immensely gifted swordsman for his young age, though he fights as much with tricky tactics and wild improvisations as he does pure skill.
History: Birdy D. Blade was a boy defined mainly by three things. His natural gift for the sword, his intense love of good ramen and his overwhelming laziness. The first and last of these traits produced a constant conflict in his life as his mother and father ran a very well-respected school of swordsmanship on his home of Jackdaw Island and as their heir they pushed him constantly to succeed and he pushed back just as hard to be left alone to his life of idleness. Despite his unwillingness to train and focus on daydreaming he was able to pick up far more than even some of the more dedicated of his parents students, though he loathed the idea of a life dedicated to the sword.
His whole life changed one day when a Marine Commander stopped by his little home island when he was only twelve years old. Having heard of the reputation of Birdy's family's school and fancying himself quite the master swordsman, he challenged Birdy's parents to a duel with the implication that if they actually tried to beat him their training hall would be wrecked and calamity would befall their family for not massaging the man's ego. Foolishly not realizing exactly what was at stake and not wishing for his father and mother to be humiliated, Birdy took up the challenge. Despite his blackmail and desire to flaunt his skills the Commander's ability with the sword was not entirely undeserved and it was mainly through luck that Birdy managed to best him. Still, the man was absolutely humiliated that some kid from a tiny island had beaten him and vowed to destroy him. In fact it wasn't long before Birdy's blatant humiliation of one of the Marines' alleged finest earned him a bounty on his head despite his young age, and for the sake of his family and their school he was forced to leave and go on the run. In the two years since then he's suffered constant attacks by both bounty hunters and swordsman looking to test their reputations against this alleged young prodigy and he's therefore decided to become the strongest swordsman in the world so that his reputation will scare people off and earn him some peace.
