Age of Rebirth 2

Bigger, Badder, Better, Faster, and with more Genocide

“I know not with what weapons World War III will be fought, but World War IV will be fought with sticks and stones" was a quote said by the Late Albert Einstein, he was at least half wrong. We as a human race survived World War Three without nuclear Devastation, at least, not completely. This though, does not mean Humans as a whole where not beaten down after the war, during and slightly after the war, nations fell and new rivalries where made. The East vs West rivalry that defined the 1900s and early 2000s are no longer how the alliance lines are drawn. Smaller alliances are made amongst nations, with group against group, nation against nation, this Newer World Order might be worse then the world we just escaped.

IT'S BACK! So I know that a couple weeks ago I said I had returned, but I had some problems, such as family members getting sick and vacation, but Im actually back now with a Reboot of Age of Rebirth, or The Rebirth of Age of Rebirth. Like the first version of this RP, it shall take place in 2050, 10 years after the end of World War Three. A new sort of United Nations has been formed, but it is less United and more Divided.

Age of Rebirth 2 shall still be freeform, but I will just add somethings that will hopefully have the RP last longer.

Rules
1. While this RP is labeled as Advanced, that means I expect long and meaningful posts. I will accept small grammatical mistakes.
2. Be Realistic (No Super Sci-Fi Techs)
3. I am the Law m8
4. Basic Roleplayer Guild rules apply.
5. History must start after 2015, nothing before.
6. OOC will be character based
7. No Godmoding/Metagaming
8. Have Fun Peeps
9. Only post your app in the Character section after it is accepted.
10. In the IC, wars will only be allowed at the start of the second post, this means that I need some reasons for wars to start.
11. Genocides are allowed, as long as conquering land from nations being played and not being played, but if you take land from a nation being played, please make sure you have permission first.

Celtic Empire I assume, interesting, you can have those claims.

I am actually going to claim Syria, Iraq, Lebanon, Jordan, Kuwait.

Claiming Neo-Hungaria again.

Also can't we change this to have various nuclear exchanges still. I mean by 2040 we have clean nukes using pure fusion which doesn't leave behind long-lasting radiation. Also we already discussed how a nuclear war wouldn't destroy humanity to the extend Einstein "predicted" anyways.
Besides, by this point practically everyone would possess nukes. Pure fusion makes the nuclear control policy moot and the related technology are pretty much essential for these near-future societies.

I shall think about it. It seemed to work fine before, and saying that nukes where dropped might limit the land you can own cause of radiation.

@MetalLoverWell, pure fusion nukes won't leave behind radiation. At least not in the classical sense of things. Typical nukes use nuclear fission which works by splitting the radioactive heavy atoms to smaller elements and the difference in energy is radiated out in the process. The split atoms are generally still radioactive elements and these decay slowly while releasing dangerous radiation at a constant rate.
Theoretically fusion doesn't have this drawback because the resulting element is stable. In effect currently we use fission nuke to produce the conditions for the fusion to occur so it's the same deal. Yet there are alternatives. One of them is to use an array of sufficiently focused and powerful lasers to heat up the fusion material. This method was already tested but unfortunatelly with current technology it's too cumbersome to be a viable alternative (for now). Granted in a setting with railguns we should have the technology to make the laser array far more compact. Another and perhaps more realistic alternative is the antimatter. Using the energy of pair-annihilation it'd be relatively easy to produce the heat for fusion reactions and thus we can build ridiculously compact nukes of practically any yield.

Both of the latter variations on fusion nukes can be called as "pure fusion" because they don't generate nuclear fallout. Sure, there'll be a burst of neutrons, x-rays and gamma rays but those come and go. Technically there shouldn't be any radioactive material spread by the explosion (unlike with fission nukes).

Anyways, I want nukes to be used with a bit of frequency during the war to change the world's view on nuclear power. It'd be interesting to play in such environment.

Ok, you have convinced me, I will change it.

Thank you!
This also gives people a chance to do some wanton destruction in the past. For example we can say that many of the largest cities were nuked during WW3. This helps to make this "collapsed world order" thing going as places that were claimed to be the center of the world would cease to exist.

I also wonder how would this change urban development and the citizens' thoughts about metropolises in general. I mean some nut can detonate a thermonuclear weapon and destroy a good portion of the city. Having a single big city with plenty of people is such an inviting target. This may even prohibit centralization attempts out of fear.

Conversely the use of nukes in population centers is going to be one of the worst war crimes to know in this setting. So an nation which cares about its international relations would avoid that at all costs. So ironically the chances of anyone doing this would be reduced considerably. Although there's a posibility that even terrorists can obtain pure fusion nukes which is indeed a scary thought.

I'll be keeping the UTA, but maybe it'll be a communist dictatorship this time around. Or an outright Empire, just so I can have an excuse to put Emperor Norton's face on all the money.

Alright, since there was a certain confusion over this in the previous RP, I list a few plausible technologies which may as well be common for this RP:

@Nerevarine You are accepted, and all of the claims voiced here are now viable. Please begin the creation of your app.

What do you guys recommend on working out your active/enlisted military numbers?
A certain percentage of your total population or...?
